I don't know if this is allowed. Box game Kingmaker FS
I dunno if I am alowed to post this. I just posted several 70s-80s bookcase games, including the Avalon Hill War of the Roses game Kingmaker to: https://www.reddit.com/r/BoardGameExchange/comments/1vanp18/fs_avalon_hillmayfair_games_bookcase_games/. The game pieces all bear the arms of various WotR English nobles, as well as the cities/castles they're most associated with, so players rapidly learn to distinguish the arms of the 'characters' they operate from those of others.
If you're into checking out analogue boardgames and into heraldry, this might be for you.
Complete box set, all pieces guaranteed. 40 year old cloth tape on the corners of the box. Totally superfluous plastic turtle has been the unappointed Lieutenant of Ireland since the 80s.
FS: Avalon Hill/Mayfair games BookCase games. Kingmaker. Britannia. Cosmic Encounter. More Cosmic Encounter
All complete sets. I put them away, decades ago, thinking that I'd play these with the kids I never had. Someone should play these. Is there a market?
First posted to r/boardgames, and someone there suggested this sub.
Uh, there might also be a cosmic encounter expansion pack in the mix (I used to work for a games distributer, 35 years ago) Or maybe More Cosmic Encounter is what I'm remembering. I think it was more, however. I think I bought an envelope of extra cards. Anyway, buy both and you'll get everything I have.
Here in BC, Vancouver island, BC
Intentions? I am beyond the gaming years. I suppose I am looking for cash offers. Actually, not even that. I posted to find out if there was even a market for what I know to be games' in excellent condition.
The Kingmaker box has cloth tape on the corners.

The Rise and Fall of the Great lakes
I dunno who might have posted this before, but this is a film that generations of Canadian kids have seen many times. Well, Ontario kids. It's one of the Canada Film Board's masterpieces. This is a really good film if you're interested in teaching north american post-glacial geology and geography at the student level.
Students fron any US state with a great lakes shoreline would learn something valuable from this film.

reddit.comMy kingdom for a hose!
One day back in the halcyon days of the seventies, I was attending a rock festival held in a sun-blasted farmer's field somewhere in south-western Ontario. The weather was great, the bands were adequate (Triumph might have been the headliner, iirc) (Or maybe Max Webster), and we were mostly stoned and getting mellow.
One participant, however, was failing to endear himself to his fellow revellers. It's not that he ws drunk - we were all at least a little drunk - but he was sloppy about it; stumbling around in the crowd; falling all over people's blankets and belongings; hitting on other guys' girlfriends; and offering to start fights. People were getting right fed up with his act.
After a time he had to get rid of some of the beer he'd been taking aboard, so he headed over to the line of porta-potties that represented the facilities.
What this guy was too drunk to notice was that a small, self-appointed posse of disgrunled participants followed him over. We watched him wait in line for an available john, and we noted which one he entered. We gave him a minute or two to get set.
When the moment seemed ripe, one guy stepped to the front and held the door closed while the rest of us nipped around the back and dropped the entire porta-potty over on its face.
The 'tank' was full enough that some of it splashed out and cascaded down his back, but with the unit lying door-downwards, he was trapped. He had to lie there with his pants around his ankles yelling in sewage until security came and got him out. I sure hope there was a hose somewhere on that site.
A Political Cameo in Mercedes Lackey
Forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but I just noticed the following passage in Lackey's Eye Spy.
>"And what were you going to do to her?, Mags continued.
>"Grab her booby, give it a twist" said Dudley[...] "I grab boobies all the time, to show girls who's in charge of them[...] When you're rich, you can do anything, and they just let you." [p. 35 of my pbk.]
Does this not sound like a certain Access Hollywood audio tape? The speaker's name, Dudley Remp, is also somewhat redolent. He's the son of a slum landlord. The 2019 copyright date checks out.
