I don’t know if social media is getting to me, but my son’s nursery was already pretty basic and still no theme
My son is 16 months old now. He slept in a bedside bassinet til about 7 months next to me. Then he slept about another 2 months in a crib in our room. Then he moved into his own room
From the time of his birth until now, I never have had a themed nursery for him. His room now is still his crib (da Vinci brand) with a naturoedic mattress because I wanted him to have a quality mattress. He has a wooden chest of drawers and an area rug. He obviously has toys and books but sometimes we play in his room and other times around other areas of the house. I don’t have a single piece of artwork for him in his room and no theme at all. I feel kind of bad seeing these rooms on social media. Or even my coworker telling me about the nursery they’re setting up - wall paper, painting the wall, the theme, etc
It makes me feel like a dead beat parent and idk why. I am pretty minimalist in nature and we spend money on our son in a lot of ways I think are beneficial- books, lovevery play kits, home making most of his meals with organic ingredients, paying up for non toxic items where I can like soap, sunscreen, cotton clothes, etc. I just feel bad that I haven’t “curated” a themed roomed for him. Is anyone else minimalist in this nature? Presently, he has interested in airplanes, trucks, motorcycles, flowers, birds, etc so should I use one of these as a theme and start curating a room for him?
I feel so abnormal for NEVER having a themed room for him, from birth until now.
