Steak and Ale Pie with Left over Smoked Tri Tip

I made a two pack of Tri Tip from Costco the other day and it has been a week of left overs.

Started with Quesadillas, then a Sheppard Pie and today finished it off with a Steak and Ale pie.

This was the best damn pie I have ever had.

I watched Lantern and started to choke up on the opening scene.

I know they drove the GN off the cliff a tear came to my eye.

PPV EPG Issue

I have TM on a Shield Pro and a couple of onn devices.

I have a weird issue with it comes to updated EPG on the PPV section. This is only the PPV section only.

I am a race fan and my provider has a guide for the races in the PPV section. However some do not update all the time. Let's say Friday was good and all the races were on the right channel. Now comes Saturday and go to the PPV EPG and the guide is still showing the events from Friday.

The weird thing is that one time it is the Shield that has the day old EPG and then the next time it is fine and it is the onn device that has the old EPG and the shield in fine.

If I update the EPG it does not fix the issue.

Also the configurations are exactly the same.

Andy idea what the issue may be.

Bear sighting in Rural North Kanata

I was leaving the house yesterday around noon and surprised a full size adult black bear that was next to my house. It ran off but wanted to warn people in the area to be careful as I would not expect to see a bear within 20 feet of my house.

This is in the rural north Kanata area north of March road in the Second Line and Murphy Side Rd area.

Tip Request

I have a pack of beef back ribs cut up already and never cooked them before and looking for some advice.

My initial thought is to just season with SPG and use a mix of mustard and some Worcestershire for a binder.

I was just going to cook at 250 until they test tender.

Does the above sound reasonable.

Since the are individual bones does it make sense to wrap at some point or just let them ride.

About how long should they take at 250? I was thinking in the 3 hour range since they are individual bones.

Any recommendations for sauce or glaze?

Looking to add some users to my server

I am looking to add on 5 to 10 users with the goal to get my server to my desired usage level. My server is about 50 TB of content. My ISP UL speed is limited so I limit remote users to 8M so any 4K content will be transcoded in most cases.

Here are some questions to be considered:

  • Where are you accessing from? Preference will be given to those outside on NA as those are the times the server is less active.
  • What type of content are you after? If I don’t have what you are after there would be no need to offer a share.
  • Why should I consider adding you?

Please respond to this post and I will follow up in the next few days with those I will consider adding. DMs will be ignored.

Prague Powder

Where in Kanata or far west end can I find Prague Powder or pink curing salt? The grocery stores do not seem to have it.
