How strict are you guys with salt?

Just curious what others thoughts are on salt in foods, I know we are supposed to restrict salt esp during their first year and I have tried my best to separate out his portions before seasoning or rinse things. But sometimes it’s just easier to give him a few pieces of cut up ravioli or dumplings and obv can’t rinse those lol. I’m tired and sometimes have no more capacity to prep a special meal for him, I usually just cook things for myself that I can give baby and have been a little more lax with the salt thing as he is nearing 1 year. I’ll give him cheese (cottage cheese, sprinkle feta or parm to entice him to eat less desired foods), add butter to things (sometimes dont always have unsalted on hand) and esp if we are at a restaurant, I’ll just scrape the sauce off of whatever im eating before giving him bites. How much should I be concerned about salt intake??

How much does your baby sleep?

My 10m currently sleeps an avg of 11-12h total, sometimes only 10! And on rare days upwards of 14h. He typically gets 2-2.5h of day sleep from naps but nighttime is very variable, most nights about 8-9 hours, but honestly it can be as little as 7 or *sometimes* up to 10h. I worry he doesn’t get enough sleep. He typically gets fussy at night but I can’t tell if it is because he is sleepy or because he gets clingy and needy for me. Example: crying while dad is watching him while I shower, but when I get out and he sees me/I pick him up, he settles.

Ever since he was a newborn he hasn’t slept as many hours as suggested from reading articles online, baby blog newsletters, huckleberry recommendations, etc. I know every baby is different and maybe mine is a low sleep needs but I’m just curious what everyone else’s situation is. I have no idea what is supposed to be the normal or rather what is normal for us 🤷🏻‍♀️ and as a first time parent, thinking about sleep needs has been something that has constantly worrying my mind.

Does cosleeping = never getting a full nights sleep?

My baby is 10m and we have been bedsharing since his 4m sleep regression. I was exclusively BF until recently returning back to work full time; now pumping to maintain 2 bottles a day while I’m gone. Baby has never slept more than 3-4 hour stretches and consistently wakes at least 2 times in the night to nurse, sometimes more depending on if he’s feeling extra fussy, needing me, teething, has a bad nap day, learned something new this week, his mood or because he wants to have a 3am stomping party in bed. I can count on one hand the number of times he has “slept through the night”.

I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? Most times, he will wake on his own and want to nurse (or rather it is the easiest way for me to put him back to sleep, I have never really tried disassociating feeding from the middle of night wakes and never tried to resettle him by rocking etc). Sometimes he’ll wake when I get up because he senses the lack of my presence. Is this just the nature of cosleeping/bedsharing, to never have a full night of uninterrupted sleep? Sometimes I wonder if I had just powered through the regression and left him in his crib, would he be able to sleep longer (6h) stretches?

Cosleeping has definitely saved me during those regression trenches, it is so easy to nurse side lying and fall asleep immediately after or even during nursing. Asking now that I’m back to work full time, multiple night wakes are becoming a little unsustainable. Does it get better? Is this normal or is it just my baby? Should I be doing something differently to encourage longer sleep stretches (if this is the case I have no idea what to change). FTM so also curious about other ppls situations
