Collection question

Hey all,

I got into collecting this year 31 y/o m. I have always loved Pokémon but never owned cards until this year. It has been a lot of fun but my eventual goal was to give them to my kids one day to either sell or keep in the hopes that they would still be worth something in 30-40 yrs. Had the realization today that very little people could care one day and panicked. My eventual goal is to consolidate to a few personal grails such as gold stars treeko and shining karp first ed in psa slabs for example.

Do we think these will still be desirable then? I know it’s an impossible question to answer but want a discussion.

Online flipping

Does anyone on here have any experience for example buying cards on like fb marketplace and selling on eBay? I keep seeing people both selling and buying at reduced percentages on there and there must be a market for this. I don’t need a job replacement but a little supplemental income would be nice and collecting over the past few months I’ve gained some knowledge of the market.

Serious question!

Mono rock type normal mgm run. Is it against the “law” to use mega dreadnaw bc it turns water fighting after mega evolving?

I know I make my own rules lol just wanted some opinions

WOTC collection

Hello all! Started collecting for the first time in my early thirties in February of this year as a lifelong Pokémon fan. I debated over many different collection goals after my fossil magneton first card such as do I finish fossil holos or this and that and finally settled on get one representation from each WOTC release. Of the numerous remaining WOTC sets I don’t have yet, what are some of y’all’s favorites?? I’ll post what I have so far. Just doing this for fun so engage if you WANT to. 😃

Beginner card collector

I’ve just begun collecting psa slabs this year. Trying to stay in vintage bc I don’t trust the longevity of modern quite yet and hate the whole 10 or its worthless thing. How likely is it that cards of this era and grade keep appreciating. My math says I’ve gained 67 dollars of value when adding up all my cost including shipping compared to the going rates of these cards.

Radiography

Hello all,

I’ve been an ophthalmic technician for the last 9 YEARS! I’m 31 m and do have a degree in health care administration but cannot stand the thought of doing financials and managing people for the rest of my life. Really just got the degree bc I was so close and wanted the personal accomplishment.

Considering radiography. What’s perhaps the worst part of being a radiographer. For instance the worst part of my job now is perhaps fast paced environment and working w difficult patients which I have become calloused to in a good way if that helps.

Base set unlimited

I’m a new collector and while not “pokeinvesting” I don’t want to overpay for an illiquid dud either. Strongly considering my next card be mewtwo and noticed base set unlimited is comparatively affordable to other vintage. Will base set unlimited at least hold its value long term?

I just got a Neo genesis psa slab and the card sort of moves freely within the slab. When I say freely if I turn it upside down I can see it move like .5mm and a slight click. Is this common? I don’t think it would damage it because the card is so light and it’s traveling such a short distance, but it makes me a little nervous.
