Recommendations for types of armor and where to get them for a lesbian wedding

Hello!

In case it wasn't obvious, I'm someone who is pretty new to all of this, but has always had an interest in armor. I'm 31F, and engaged to my fiancee (28F). Our wedding is going to be extremely unconventional, because that's just how we are as people. For example, we are getting married on exactly Halloween (next year) and our reception is going to be basically a big awesome Halloween party.

I've been sort of struggling with what I want to wear to the wedding lately (I'm plus-sized and generally wear an XL in most clothing at this point, and my self-esteem isn't great, even though I've always dreamed of wearing knight's armor), and I think that this might even be something that ends up making me feel even more comfortable on the day of. And obviously, this is just for the ceremony and photos and things like that. I will likely have another (more casual and easy to move around in) change of clothing to wear that night/the reception we do itself.

Does anyone have any ideas for what type of armor would look coolest or just be really interesting in this type of scenario/any ideas about where to get those things? I'm really sort of starting at the ground level here, and wanted to see if anyone with practical knowledge about this had any ideas or suggestions! My fiancee will likely be dressed in a more princess-y looking outfit, for reference, but we haven't fully brainstormed about that yet (this is a pretty new idea that we're just sort of feeling out right now).

For types of designs we're interested in, I really enjoyed seeing Chappell Roan's Good Luck Babe performance (example shown below) a couple of years ago in armor. I thought that was really cool looking, and would obviously kind of fit the occasion! I'm not totally married (heh) to that look though, it's just sort of one potential jumping off point, I guess!

Thank you so much in advance for any help that you can give me! If anyone has any more questions, I would be glad to answer them!

1.) What would you call this "subgenre"? and 2.) Any other films I should add (or watch, if I haven't seen them yet)?

This is mostly just for fun, but I do tend to be really drawn to... whatever type of media this is. Two co-dependent (or formerly co-dependent) women or girls getting into violent situations together...? Complex relationships between women, but in this very specific way? Not even sure, but I love it.

EDITED TO ADD: Dang, can't believe I forgot Thoroughbreds (2017)! Just added that one as well.

Films about strained friendships (need suggestions for more on this list)

Obviously, the first It is not technically a film (miniseries) and Frozen is kiiiiinda included on a bit of a technicality (wasn't originally going to include it because they're obviously sisters and not friends, but they refer to each other as "best friends" or "buddies" a couple of times throughout and I related more to this film in the context of my relationship with my childhood best friend than even with my actual sister, so... I decided to tentatively include it? We'll see if it stays), but I'm honestly realizing while making this list that I'm having a hard time thinking of many films that fill this sort of niche.

Any suggestions? I'm sure there's big ones that I'm just not remembering, but would also love to hear any obscure ones you've got. I don't need to have seen the film, just need to be able to look it up and verify that it's about a strained friendship either at it's core, significantly to the plot, or predominantly in a thematic way.

What assumptions can you make about me based on my Nick shows tier list? Any recommendations based on this?

I honestly was pretty shocked while making this to find out how many shows Nickelodeon has aired that I just wasn't ever even fully aware of. Clearly, I need to watch more! I never would've expected my "Never seen" tier to be that long.

What kind of assumptions do you make about me based on this list? Genuinely curious! Please no berating or trying to argue or just anything actually rude though, this is entirely based off of personal opinion and not necessarily critical opinion. I understand that some of my rankings may be unorthodox, but again, it's based entirely off of my personal opinion. It's not that serious! Just wanna have a light and fun discussion.

What shows/movies should I watch based on this? Including Nick shows that are in my "Never seen" or "Seen a little of but don't remember much" tiers.

EDIT: Small correction! Just realized that I accidentally put "Every Witch Way" in the "started off good, but got bad later" tier. I have actually not seen that one before! Curse my eyes for not noticing I'd left that one in the wrong place.

Trying to get more into gaming (31F). Anyone got any recommendations for me based on this grid?

I've always liked video games, but I think I tend to stick to the same ones and rarely add new ones into my rotation. I've been trying to expand my horizons over the past few years, and have been finding more I like. I'd like to find even more though, honestly.

Other games I've played recently and enjoyed: What Remains of Edith Finch, Mouthwashing, Goodbye Volcano High, Layers of Fear, Alien: Isolation, Serre, Silent Hill f, OMORI, The Wolf Among Us, and Until Dawn (to name a few).

Platforms I use: PC (have Steam), Nintendo Switch (would really love to get more games for this tbh, I mostly just have party games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros Brawl), and a pretty decent Steam Deck.

My current Top 4

This is my current top 4! I change out the last two occasionally, but this has been pretty much the same for over a year now, I think. Before this, it was Heavenly Creatures (1994) in place of Ginger Snaps (Heavenly Creatures may come back eventually, but I've been really in a Ginger Snaps mood recently). I kind of suspect that Forgotten Island (coming out in September this year) may get rotated in to my top 4, but obviously that remains to be seen!

Anyone got the same or similar? Thoughts?

My top 12 animated films NOT from major animation studios!

Major animation studios excluded from this include, but are not limited to: WDAS (Walt Disney Animation Studios), Pixar, DreamWorks, Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Saloon, etc. Any relatively well-known studio that predominantly specializes in animation (at least recently) was (debatable, I guess) excluded.

Can anyone help me identify where I took this picture in about 2011?

Hello!

I am 31 years old, and went to Germany for a month with my family during the summer when I was 16, back in 2011 (my mother was born in Bitburg and this is the only time she's been back to Germany since she was an infant; we live in the United States). We went to a lot of museums and historical sites as a family, as well as many parks and nature sites. We mostly stayed in small towns, specifically I remember us staying in Klosterreichenbach for a time, but we traveled kind of all over. I had a digital camera with me and took a lot of pictures.

My memory isn't great lately, but I've been able to track down the locations in most of the photos I've taken based on vague description and lots of searching. This one eludes me though! I believe it may have been taken in a cafe at some sort of museum? Not sure what type though. I'd love to remember though so that I could look into the history of the space. I think it's beautiful.

Thank you very much!

Will be out of state for 3 months taking care of a relative. Not moving and will be returning to my home state. What do I need to do to prep for this? (On SNAP/EBT)

Hello!

I am a fully disabled adult who receives SNAP/EBT benefits monthly, just for myself. My father (who lives in another state) is having major surgery next month, and I am the only one in my family who doesn't work. Therefore, I am going to be the one who goes up and helps him get around the house and take care of himself without hurting himself while he recovers. I receive my benefits on the first of every month, and will only be using them to feed myself while I'm up there (obviously). He has his own funds for food (not SNAP, he is just retired).

I have never been out of state for this long before, and I'm a little nervous. What do I need to do to prep for this? Is it okay to do something like this? If not, then obviously I will need to make other arrangements with my family for his caretaking.

What exactly do I need to do to make sure this is all above board, if allowed? I don't want to cause any trouble! The plan so far is to have me fly up in mid-June and stay until late August. I live with my mother and sister in my current state (FL), and neither of them receive SNAP. I just pay my own way in their house and feed myself.

Thank you very much for any help you can give me! Hopefully this post isn't dumb or a stupid question. I just want to make sure I'm doing this right.

Hi!

Looking for any lesbian books with dynamics that are either close or as close as you can get to the Catradora (Adora/Catra) relationship from DreamWorks She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018). Does anyone have anything that will scratch the same or a similar itch for me? I used the "Enemies-to-lovers" flair because that's what it's more broadly considered to be, but people familiar with Catradora know that it's probably more closely described as "childhood best friends to enemies to lovers". Thank you in advance!
