Honestly, why does everyone get so worked up about polyamory?

​Personally, I’m monogamous. I personally have zero interest in being in a poly relationship, and it’s just not for me. But I don’t get why so many people feel the need to shit on people who are poly. If everyone in the relationship is an adult, knows what’s going on, and agrees to it, why does anyone else care?

​It gives me the same energy as homophobic arguments. It’s always the same stuff: "it's not natural," "it's weird," or "it's inherently toxic." But if nobody is being hurt and nobody is getting cheated on, how is it affecting you? And why do you need to force everyone to follow YOUR way of relationships?

​Ppl always bring up that poly relationships end in drama or breakups, but so do monogamous ones? Half of monogamous marriages end in divorce, and people cheat all the time. Just because a poly relationship doesn't last forever doesn't mean the whole concept is bad. If anything, forcing people who aren't monogamous into strict monogamy just leads to lying and cheating anyway.

​I just don't get the stigma. If it's between consenting adults, it feels like people are just judging something because it's different from how they live their lives and being out of the social norm.

​I'm posting this here because I want to see if there's actually a solid argument against polyamory itself (assuming it's done ethically with consent, duh) that I'm just missing, or if it really is just people being judgmental over stuff that doesn't affect them. CMV.
