Is a 2.5 hour drive a week in OK for a 9 week old lab?

Hi All, Im getting a lab in the coming weeks and I have a personal commitment about a week into getting the puppy that will include having to drive 2.5 hours to a family members place. Is this going to cause any issues? I planned on taking off the first week of getting the pup but then we have to travel that following weekend. I figured it didn't hurt to hear opinions. I love this sub . Thank you

I need some communal motivation and love after my calf injury this morning

Ive been having some of the best runs of my life. I have also just recently found the beauty of 6am running. Its been heaven. Today, felt a little off mentally to begin with, and then mid run my calf starting hurting. Luckily, I was able to walk home after hurting it but I know im off it for at least a week maybe two. Im so damn sad. Ive been having the time of my life and I know resting for a week or two isnt so bad but still. Its a mental health excercise too. What now even? Can I ride a stationary bike? Can I do light squats? Is cross training still possible? Please help I need all the love and support I can get.

There was a Kyle & Krystal episode w. Christman

Years back and I remember it being hilarious. I remember K & K continuing to ask Matt his views on I think it was an upcoming midterm at the time. The funny part was Matt was answering by basically saying the election doesnt matter the system is fundamentally broken and them being like right ok but what about this race? Does anyone else remember this? Lol Does anyone have this on YouTube? I just see everyone fighting about elections all the time and I just remember Matt in that episode being so god damn funny.

Did you enjoy last years finals match up?

I found it to be the most entertaining since LeBron vs. The Warriors. I still can't believe the Knicks have won the NBA Championship in my lifetime.

Should I read Caro's book Power Broker first or just go straight for LBJ series?

Im currently reading the best and brightest by Halberstam and I am LOVING it. Best and Brightest was actually recommended by a Caro interview I was watching of him. So I thought hmm, maybe do Caro next. Would love to hear all your thoughts.

First KB, bought 16kg, can do swing and squat but not strong enough for press in either arm yet

I admit I do have to find a program and stick with it. Im on day 2 and I can do a squat, swing, and deadlift with my new 16 kg but my scrawny arms just arent ready to do a push yet. I bought a KB to implement some form of strength training in between runs. Any advice?

This week or two would have been GOLD for WFAN back in the day

I know I may sound like a get off my lawn Boomer but I was sitting here thinking to myself how incredible a solid WFAN could be at a time like this week with the Knicks. The guests that would be on would be insane. Callers would be buzzing off the hook, the enthusiasm would be wild. Intv wise, We'd have like something like a line up of Mime Breen intv @ 930am, Greg Popovich checks in with Mike and Mad dog in the afternoon to discuss old days and todays roster, maybe even Leon Rose answers 10 mins worth of questions from one of the shows and so much more. Fuck it JR Smith in studio to hotbox with The Schmooze (😂). It would be so fucking good and id be fixated. Now the station is like what is going on here? Carton will be talking his nonsense and Norman's gonna be mad that Wemby once said ICE killing people isnt great so he wont watch the series? The station couldn't be further from what it was once and as a sad lost late 30 year old die hard I deeply miss the vibe of radio station I only once truly loved. God damn , imagine a post Knicks championship Joe and Evan episode from the parade or something along those lines. Mad dog going insane etc.

Does anyone miss the old franchise prospect scouting set up with points?

I admit this is the first madden ive played since pre-pandemic. Likely havent played since 2019's edition so I may be way late to the party but this new hiring scouts and waiting for the scout to increase the percentage of the prospect bothers me. I liked being able to administer points to the position Im looking to scout. I understand as time goes on I can hire more scouts but does you all enjoy this way of scouting?

Has any book ever changed your career or the way youve made money?

Jack Bogle 's common sense investing taught me about index funds. I ended up taking the Finra licenses after that book and now work in banking. Id say that book's ROI for me has been $250-500K so far. What about you?

Ive learned not to replace work with my drinking

I traded heavy drinking for a relentless pursuit of wealth, all to fill this intense feeling of more. I still read books on these business greats because thats the road to more. My ego , my pride, my fears and my obsession to more were all key factors to why I drank so much. I honestly cant work even 50 to 60 hours a week and realistically live a spiritual life of balance in my recovery. This is how I have to put my recovery first. I have to take less physical money for the pursuit of spiritual wealth. This is just my journey and opinion.
