Can I play my cello with a leg injury?

I just sprained my ankle a few days ago, and its in a boot currently. I need to keep it elevated. Will it be hard for me to do my 1.5 hour orchestra practice with the boot on and leg raised on a chair? Will it just mean I would have to adjust my stance? Thanks.

How in the world am I supposed to study for AP Stats

AP Stats recently changed their curriculum and I am going nuts. The teachers in my school never really "taught" much so I always ended up watching youtube/collegeboard videos to learn the material of a course. However, the new AP Stats curriculum made collegeboard delete all of their videos on their classroom. I'm also so confused as to which past videos on youtube are genuinely helpful and which are not. My teacher isn't teaching me anything and I have a test soon. Does anyone have any good material to use? Or know which old units to study? Thanks...

AI says all of my topics are cliche...

I've asked AI how my personal statement topics sound, and every time it says it's a "very cliche topic that admissions officers see every day" or something. Can anyone please tell me if this is too cliche or not, I have two big ideas so far:

This is the essay i've already written, but it may be cliche so I have a second possible theme below.

  1. My parents never cared about my academics.

Basically, they never cared whether I got a 100 or a 70 on a test. I'm going to show developement by saying at first I was upset at their indifference, but later I realized that they were doing it so that I wouldn't get attatched to their affirmations as motivation. My big growth factor is that I've developed internal motivation from their indifference. I wrote this as a hope to show colleges that I am ready to continue to work hard and learn even when nobody is watching/appreciating me.

  1. I learned to try when results aren't guaranteed.

Basically my father said we can't afford some schools you're applying to without scholarships and I was upset because there was a miscommunication and I thought money wasn't a problem but that wasn't until I wanted to try T20. I got upset and said I wouldn't have loaded up my senior year with such APs and high SAT expectations if I knew that. I'm gonna touch on some topics we had in our convo, like how I wanted to try T20 to show my school that our academic ceiling isn't so low (our school is pretty unenthusiastic with academics, I took the most APs in our school ever, so yeah I wanted to pioneer this). I end by agreeing that it coudn't hurt to try. And even in uncertainty, I'm willing to give my all.

Lmk if both are alright or absolutey trash. I really need honest feedback so please go harsh on me if needed. Thanks!

Is taking AP Physics C: E & M a bad idea...

Yeah I know its the hardest AP, yeah I know I have no teacher and will have to self study this, and I know its my senior year and I haven't taken the SAT yet. Yeah I've got a lot of things to do, but I just feel like doing AP Physics C: E&M will help me with my college application. I intend to major in Industrial Engineering, and am applying to mostly T20 colleges. I want a strong application.

However, I'm unsure if all of this + 4 other AP classes will burn me out. Will trying to self study this AP course be the end of me? The alternative would be to take the new AP business and personal finance (also self studied). But pls lmk what you all think...

What courses are useful for IE major?

Hi! I'm currenty a highschool senior trying to decide his course. Here are my stats so far:

10th Grade:

AP seminar & AP microeconomics

11th Grade:

AP Calculus BC, AP Lang, AP Research & AP Physics C: Mechanics

12th Grade:

Planning on AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP Macroeconomics.

Torn between AP Buisness with personal finance (it's a new course) and AP Physics C: E & M.

I'm trying to major in IE, and I know its a broader field but probably manufacturing or systems. I just thought AP Business might help the systems/operative/people-skills side of it, but also another physics course seems to help my STEM based application. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Fix Reading Comprehension and vocab in 1 month

I kind of screwed up and well I'm a senior taking the September SAT for the first time, and also the October SAT as my second time. I CANNOT screw either up (as some schools I want to go to take superscores). My last three practie tests go from 1390 -->1350 (screwed up math)-->1450. Each time my reading was 670 -->680-->670 (yes I got a 780 on the math, and I'm far more confident with it). Basically, while my math improved a lot, I'm having a hard time improve english. But my problem is reading comprehension and vocab. I can't just learn those like grammar. How would one improve these drastically in 1-2 months?

My goal score is ~1500+ btw! Thanks!

September senior year will be my first SAT

I know that the SAT deadline for the august SAT still has a week, but all of my city's testing centers were full. I just now registered for the September SAT, which is my first SAT (I was busy with APs in Junior year). Will this have a big impact on my college apps or the SAT score itself? I feel so cooked rn TT

Looking for a Industrial Engineer mentor!

Hi! I'm a rising highschool senior who intends to major in IE, and possibly go for a MEM afterwards. I just wanted to connect with a few industrial engineers and ask a few questions about what steps they took to get there, what to expect, etc.

The reason I want to be an industrial engineer is because I love both physics, buisness and group-setting problem solving. I took AP Physics C: Mechanics alongside AP Calc BC last year, and, though rigorous, I really enjoyed it. I plan to take AP Stats, AP Macroeconomics (I took micro before), AP Business, and AP Psychology this year. I want to apply these skills in real life, and I thought IE was a great field to apply them!

If you are an Industrial Engineer willing to give me some advice, please reach out!

BP, Heightism and Hypergamy is slowly ruining my life

For those who aren't familiar with the concept of BP or hypergamy:

BP (aka black pill) is simply stated the idealogy that looks play a very crucial role in one's life. Almost to the point where looks are basically everything.

Heightism is the unfair bias against short people and generally treating short people worse (making fun of them, etc.)
Hypergamy in nowaday terms is roughly defined as (mostly women) aiming to have a partner who is way higher than their own "level of attractiveness".

Now I know many individuals on this sub deal with worse things, and you might think this is some stupid internet trend... but recently its evolved to be more than that, for me and surprisingly a lot of other people.

I have a lot of attractive friends in my friend group. You could say they all "mog" me. We often lightheartedly joke about bp and I never really took it seriously... until I truly realized how depressing the current dating market is. You can throw however many statistics and stories about how handsome guys always get the girls, but you've got to experience it to truly understand it.

I really liked this girl. I tried to text her often, initiate conversation, and just overall be nice. I wouldn't say I'm necessarily ugly, or boring, but her replies were always slow, simple, one word answers. Soon after I gave up. A few weeks later, I my friend shows a screenshot of the same girl messaging me. He says she's annoying him. I see the messages clear as daylight: she double, tripple texts him, asking all sorts of questions, while he replies with "ok", "cool", "nothin much".

I'm sick of hearing "oh well he must just be more interesting". Guess what. I couldn't even name a hobby of his. Me? Oh yeah I just like:
art, all sorts of music, philosophy, football, volleyball, fashion, films, books, gym, video games, embroidery, etc... how much more interesting do you need me to be??! I'm smart, interesting, funny, not the best looking but also not the worst... I'm short but what can I do about that!?

I hate seeing those around me gain higher social status purely because of their looks. Admittedly, I also do care about looks when trying to date someone, but its just not proportional to what I'm seeing today.

I'm sick and tired and I just want to live in a lighthouse all alone forever.

How is life as an Engineering Manager?

Hi! I'm a high school senior intending to major in engineering, specifically engineering management. I'd say I'm pretty good with people, and I love physics, so I thought this was a suitable endeavor. I just wanted to know what a life of one would look like, what steps I should take from now on to be ready for this major, etc. Please let me know any highlights in working in this field, and any difficulties as well!

Hello! I've got an AP Physics C. Mechanics test in exactly a week from now! I'm mostly okay with the majority of concepts, but unit 5/6 on rotational motion really confuses me. Especially when combined with COM and physical pendulums. Having to find linear density, understanding how to apply it to the situation, and knowing how rotations work have been confusing for me. Are there any tips I should always keep in mind when solving these problems? I'm quite alright in the free response questions, but sometimes fumble the multiple choice questions. Thank you!

Where are my early birds! Great job finishing AP Research with time to spare :) I know each and every one of you put so much effort into this class, as I have. Now we finally have the time to study for our other AP Exams TT. Anyways great stuff.
