How to get over the fear of eating more?

Hey, everyone.

I’m writing this post because I’ve entered a new phase in my fitness journey, and honestly i'm struggling with how to manage it.

Like many, I started working out with the goal of losing weight. Along the way, I learned a ton, gathered a lot of knowledge, and got great results. I built muscle, reached my goals, and finally feel comfortable in my own skin. Recently i decided to try a lean bulk, knowing it requires eating just slightly above my maintenance calories.

However, my anxiety around this has skyrocketed, mostly due to external factors I can't fully control.

For a long time I lived alone. Everything that went into my body was prepared by me, which made tracking every single meal incredibly easy. Recently, I moved back home with my family, where the cooking style is very different. Even though my mom tries her best to cook lighter options for me, we come from a country with heavy, oil-rich traditional cuisine, and those old cooking habits die hard. While I try to weigh the cooked food, it feels kind of pointless because I have no way of knowing the exact raw ingredient quantities that went into the dish.

This is starting to give me a lot of anxiety, and I'm not sure how to make this lean bulk process less stressful. Every single night, I stress out thinking I overate. Even though I track, recalculate, and double-check my calories constantly. Sometimes I even find myselfwalking extra steps just "to be safe," only to immediately worry that I've eaten too little and ruined the entire point of the lean bulk.

If anyone has been through something similar, I would love some advice. How did you handle the mental shift and the lack of control over home-cooked meals? I know this is probably mainly in my head and I want to learn to control the situation before I make it bad/ worse, when it reality I might be doing just fine.

Thanks in advance!

[20] -> [22] Quite crazy to look back at it

I was overweight and also quite unhappy at 20 and looking back at the first picture I'm mainly realising how I didn't understand that I was in a bad health and mental state at that point.

Like, it does get better, but you gotta work for it, I guess, and the tougher it is the better results you get. It was kinda hard looking at the first pic and also sharing it on the internet but hey we're all strangers and if I get to post it here it means that's not me anymore, so hooray. 🎉

Beginner here. Asked the cards "What is the future between me and X?" Could someone help me interpret it better?

My take on it would be that the future has a lot of potential for growth and progress and prosperity though there will be challenges that will try to sabotage the relationship.

Deck is: Tarot of the Divine from Yoshi Yoshitani Spread: did not use any spread, I just got the sudden urge to read, this question immediately popped up in my head, and kept shuffling until I felt like I had enough cards down. (And also i'm a beginner so i'm not experienved with readings that involve lots of cards.)
