Not going to lie, maternity leave hasn’t been the fun and enjoyment I was expecting. I have 12 months off and I’m 5 months in next week. I love my baby but overall this period has been consumed by poor sleep, fatigue, boredom, isolation and running out of things to do. So those of you who enjoyed their maternity leave, what did you do that made you enjoy it so much?
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some recommendations for nursing homes based in Brisbane for my elderly father who is going to have a major abdominal surgery tonight. He previously lived by himself but he won’t be able to do that anymore. It’s very last minute due to this acute medical emergency. It would also be helpful to know which nursing homes to avoid. Thank you
So my husband and I have a 16 week old baby. My parents are based in Brisbane and have been overwhelmingly supportive, providing us lots of gifts, meals, physical visits and always checking in. In comparison, my partners parents have visited the hospital once and given the odd phone call here and there. Granted, they live on the Sunshine Coast and we are based in Brisbane but I’m resentful that we have to visit them at all for my MILs bday when they haven’t supported me, my partner during postpartum or given much care at all to our baby. They also have never come down to Brisbane when it was my partner or my bday so I’m more justified in matching their energy and not visiting them at all. Is this view justified?

I feel bad for saying this and have looked up activities to do with my baby (who I love dearly) but honestly maternity leave has been exhausting, boring and isolating. Can anyone relate? I had a full time career before baby and loved to travel, read, socialise and I realise I didn’t really appreciate having my own time back then. Now I’m trying my best to fill the repetitive days but with little enjoyment. Does anyone have any words of advice?
My 14 week old baby was previously drinking 100-150ml per feed but now only takes 50-70ml per feed. They have about 5 wet nappies per day. The issue is they will arch their back and move their head to avoid the bottle. The only difference is that last week we changed teat flow from the smallest flow teat to 0+ months to the 3month teat size. Their sleep is also a lot more all over the place and they won’t sleep as regularly during the day.
For the best price ideally.
