Speaking as a Modder, are Custom Houses about to change . . well, a hell of a lot.

Ok, so cool new DLC coming, two decent new civs . . and one very cool mechanic, customs houses generating rez from your opponents shipments. In normal game terms this is great for the new group of Dane players and an obvious target when playing against them, destroy the customs house, deal a serious blow to the Danes economy.

Now Modders . . imagine almost every AI controlled Civ in almost every version of the game having access to some version of this. Taking out such an AI is more than just researching blockade then carving round the back farms or through the front barracks to take out the TC. In order to start cutting down the AI economy down now your going to have to deal with that customs house as well as hitting blockade or else your own shipments will still aid it. This automatically builds in a secondary "kill this" objective, one that ideally done long before the final assault and may have to be done repeatedly.

Just think about it, every Civ having some sort of second building that really, the opponent needs to destroy before they move on to the town centre. We all know the pain of having to surpress docks in water levels. Why not a target of a similar strategic nature, but more obvious, for all civs on none water levels?

Exodite Aeldari Terrain Templates for Scratch Builders.

Exodite Aeldari terrain templates, easily convertible to be the support structures for any large Aeldari themed terrain if you use a little imagination (and a lot of plasticard and MDF.)

Exodite 40k rules previewed.

Ohh they look tasty, moveable Mortal Wound mines in the form of Droakolithe counters. Ok at range and proper nasty in melee with a T 5 and W of 4 meaning these things are not fragile glass cannons. Don't think they're going to be cheap in points though.

And that Long Rifle on the Laystalker, what is going on with that!?!

First Update for 11th Edition, minor rules fixes, but more importantly point changes!!

Some rules changes, Seer Council got fixed, a load of things got the Frame keyword.
But those point changes, ohh those point changes. So much green you'd think you where looking at a Waaarrghhh.

Rules and Faction pack downloads available via the usual link on warcom, Aeldari Munitorium Field Manual linked above.

Corsair Conclave test

With zero intentions of forking over the money you would normally need for multiple Warlocks, I decided to use several of the Voidreavers/scarred from my Eldritch Raiders box to make my own Warlocks with a throw back to the era of Rogue Trader.

Thought Experiment about Phoenix Lords

Because it's always bugged me a little that only Fuegan gets a bounce back ability when they're all called Phoenix Lords, and also because it's now really going to irk me after learning toughnesses and in built survivability are generally going up in 11th edition if PL's don't get some sort of buff in the eventually arriving Aeldari codex, here's some idea's I had on spreading the ability to rise from the ashes across all the Lords

Asurmen (150 pts)

The first time this model is destroyed, at the end of the phase, roll one D6. On a 2+ set this model back upon the battlefield as close as possible to where it was destroyed but not within engagement range of any enemy units. Fuegan's now has D3+2 wounds remaining.

If Asurmen was leading a unit of Dire Avengers which have also been destroyed in this battle, when his model is placed back on the board the controling player can also place D3 Dire Avengers with Asurmen as an attached unit.

Baharroth (140 pts)

The first time this model is destroyed, at the end of the phase, roll one D6. On a 3+ set this model back upon the battlefield as close as possible to where it was destroyed but not within engagement range of any enemy units. Baharroth now has D3+2 remaining.

Alternatively if the initial dice roll for this ability is successful and it is not the last turn of the game, Baharroth can be placed in Strategic Reserves with his full wounds remaining.

Fuegan (Default, no change. 130 pts)

The first time this model is destroyed, at the end of the phase, roll one D6. On a 2+ set this model back upon the battlefield as close as possible to where it was destroyed but not within engagement range of any enemy units. Fuegan now has his full wounds remaining.

Jain Zar (120 pts)

The first time this model is destroyed, at the end of the phase, roll one D6. On a 3+ set this model back upon the battlefield as close as possible to where it was destroyed but not within engagement range of any enemy units. Jain Zar now has her full wounds remaining.

If the dice roll is failed, Jain Zar immediately gains Fights on Death and attacks one final time even if she has already fought this phase, before being removed.

Karandras (110 pts)

The first time this model is destroyed, at the end of the phase, roll one D6. On a 3+ set this model back upon the battlefield as close as possible to where it was destroyed but not within engagement range of any enemy units. Karandras now has his full wounds remaining.

Alternatively if the initial dice roll for this ability is successful and it is not the last turn of the game, Karandras can be placed in Strategic Reserves with his full wounds remaining.

Lhykhis (150 pts)

The first time this model is destroyed, at the end of the phase, roll one D6. On a 4+ place this model in Stragetigc Reserves with her full wounds remaining. If this is the last turn of the game Lhykhis is removed and can take no further part in the game but gains Shoot on Death even if she is in close combat.

If the dice roll is failed, Lhykhis immediately gains Shoots on Death and fires one final time even ifs he has already fired or was destroyed in melee.

Maugan Ra (110 pts)

The first time this model is destroyed, at the end of the phase, roll one D6. On a 4+ set this model back upon the battlefield as close as possible to where it was destroyed but not within engagement range of any enemy units. Maugan Ra now has his full wounds remaining.

If the dice roll is failed, Maugan Ra immediately gains Fights on Death or Shoots on Death and attacks one final time even if he has already fired or fought or both this turn, before being removed. The Player can not choose Shoots on Death if Maugan was destroyed in melee combat.

*Pic for attention 'cause Baharroth's my boy! (Also Edit, Maugan gets dropped from 3+ to 4+ because that ability is still tasty and gives him options no matter what happens.)

Work in progress

A couple of pic's to show I do actually paint stuff, but also show why I never post any photos with my crappy cam. Proper photo's will be taken when things are complete.

Exodites Emerge!

For those of you wondering, yes Exodites do count as Outcasts, so feel free to include your Exodite hype here and please post your mini's when they're finally released and you get them painted.

2700, that's what we max out at now.

All in and everything logically maxed out (ie 3 troupes of 5 with Leader in boats, 3 troupes of 12 foot slogging with a Seer.) Quins max out at 2700 points. (With extra 75 pts for enhancements.)

Which leaves the question. 2 Wave Serpents, or 1 Wave Serpent and a Nightspinner? Or 300 points of Rangers / Shroud Runners?

Edit, so guess who only added 8 Skyweavers, It's 2910 with 3 units of them.

Knife Ears just got nasty, who're you bringing to the party as your dance partner? #New40k

Aeldari Faction pack is out, don't miss the detachment point costs listed in the article like I did. Depending on actual unit / enhancement / wargear costs it's looking like Corsairs just got the upgrade they needed for big games, only question is will you be brining some outcast Ranger assassins, or some laughing and dancing ones? (Or both, why not both GW?!? . . old style 4000 point, 5 detachment point game on a 6 by 4 board anyone? You've got an entire weekend spare right?)

Update on the group. (Mod news)

For those of you wondering why I haven't been around as much lately, it's because a family member had a serious medical event. Normal service will be resumed once we get them home, stable and a new routine is established. Can't say exactly when this will be but the prognosis is good so hopefully soon(ish)

In the mean time I will continue to come online when ever I can to approve stuff and keep the group running, And when things aren't as full on all the time, work on my Corsair army will resume.
