Married women of India, how do you deal with not spending festivals with your family?

I am 26F, planning to get married soon.

I was checking my leaves for around Diwali time so that I can book my flight tickets. And had the sudden realisation that after marriage I will be expected to spend Diwali at my in-laws place.

So married women of India: how do you cope with the thought that you will have to celebrate all the festivities at another house now?

For me, my home would always be my home. I don’t wish to leave my parents alone on occasions such as Diwali, Holi etc. (my parents only have two daughters). And I know that I can still spend these festivals at my home instead of my in-laws home, but I also know that it will always come with a hint of judgement from the people around me.

I love the concept of marriage and lifetime companionship but just cannot wrap my head around the expectation of overnight changing my “home” and my “family”.

I get the feeling that Emily doesn’t really want to be in the vlogs

I’ve only recently started watching their vlogs and I’m not sure if Emily has always been this cranky? She sometimes comes off as so bratty.
I don’t think she really wants to be in the vlogs and only does it because well this is how she makes money. What do you guys think?
