How do you find out about off-campus hiring drives happening in Mumbai?

I’m a 2026 BE Computer Engineering graduate looking for fresher opportunities, mainly Java / Spring Boot roles.

I often hear about off-campus or pooled hiring drives happening at different colleges, training institutes, or company offices in Mumbai, but I usually find out about them only after they’re over.

For people who are actively job hunting in Mumbai:

  • Where do you get updates about upcoming walk-in / pooled / off-campus hiring drives?
  • Are there any WhatsApp/Telegram groups, LinkedIn pages, websites, or communities that regularly post these?
  • Do companies or colleges have any common place where these drives are announced?

I’m specifically looking for drives that freshers can physically attend, rather than just online applications.

Would really appreciate it if anyone could share reliable sources or groups. Thanks!

Living alone in Mumbai as a 2026 BTech graduate — struggling to find a job

I’m a 2026 BTech graduate living alone in Mumbai and currently looking for a job. I’ve been applying for Java/Spring Boot roles but haven’t been able to land anything yet.

I know Core Java, basic Spring Boot and React, and I’m continuing to improve my skills and apply for developer roles. But the job search is taking longer than I expected, and managing expenses while living alone is becoming difficult.

For now, I’m looking for some part-time work that can help me earn around ₹10–15k/month, just enough to cover basic living expenses while I continue preparing for and applying to IT jobs.

I’m open to pretty much anything — tutoring, delivery, retail, café work, customer support, freelance work, etc. Ideally something flexible enough that I can still spend time improving my Java/Spring Boot skills.

For anyone in Mumbai who has been in a similar situation, how did you manage it? What part-time jobs or side income options would you recommend?

Any genuine leads or advice would be really appreciated.

Looking for a DSA Study Partner – 2026 Grad | Java + Spring Boot

Hey everyone,

I’m a 2026 B.E. Computer Engineering graduate and currently preparing for software development roles.

I’ve completed Core Java and have been learning Spring Boot. I’m now focusing on DSA and coding problems for interviews.

I usually study late at night, sometimes around midnight, and I’m looking for someone who is also preparing for DSA and would like to solve problems together and keep each other accountable.

Ideally, someone who is at a similar stage and is comfortable with Java.

If anyone is interested, feel free to comment or message me. Thanks!

From dreaming about Microsoft and Google to hoping for a 3.5 LPA job , what happened?

When I started my BTech in 2022, I had very different expectations.

I used to think that by the time I graduate, I'll be working at Microsoft or Google, earning something like 21–25 LPA. Even 10–12 LPA felt like something I should be able to achieve if I worked hard enough.

College started, and slowly I started learning. I learned programming, worked on my fundamentals, DSA, Java, SQL, databases, JDBC, React, Spring Boot, and built projects. I'm still learning and trying to improve myself every day.

But somehow, reality turned out very different from what I imagined in 2022.

Initially, I thought, "At least TCS mein toh lag hi jaayega." Then I came to know that for many opportunities they require 60% throughout academics.

And I have 56% in my 12th.

That one thing itself closes doors for quite a few companies, irrespective of what I'm learning now.

And now, honestly, my expectations have changed completely.

Earlier I was thinking about 20–25 LPA.

Now I feel that even getting a 3.5 LPA job would be a huge achievement for me.

At this point, if someone offers me a decent work-from-home job paying ₹17k–18k per month, I would genuinely consider it. I just want an opportunity where I can start my career, learn, gain experience, and prove myself.

Sometimes I look back and think, what happened?

Was I just too optimistic in 2022? Did I not work in the right direction? Is the market actually this bad? Or is this something most engineering students go through?

I'm still learning and applying, but the difference between what I expected when I started BTech and where my expectations are today is honestly crazy.

2022: "Microsoft/Google, 20+ LPA."
2026: "Bhai koi 3.5 LPA ki opportunity mil jaye."

Not trying to gain sympathy here. Just genuinely curious , what do you guys think? Kya ho raha hai? Am I being too pessimistic now, or is the job market actually this difficult for freshers?

Would love to hear from people who went through a similar phase and eventually figured things out.

I have phone numbers of 40–50 HRs. Should I call them asking for job openings, or is that unprofessional?

I somehow managed to collect the contact details/phone numbers of around 40–50 HRs and recruiters from different companies.

I'm currently actively looking for a job/internship, so I'm wondering — should I actually call them and ask if there are any openings?

Something like:

"Hi, I'm currently looking for an entry-level software developer role. I wanted to check if there are any relevant openings in your organization."

But I'm also worried that randomly calling HR people on their personal/work numbers might come across as unprofessional or annoying.

Would WhatsApp/texting first be better? Or should I directly call during working hours?

Has anyone here tried this approach? Did it actually work, or would you recommend sticking to LinkedIn and emails?

Genuinely curious because I don't want to ruin a potential connection by approaching them the wrong way.

Freshers who got their first job recently — which platform gave you the most responses?

Hey everyone,

I’m a 2026 Computer Engineering graduate currently looking for entry-level opportunities in Java, Spring Boot, and Full Stack Development.

I’ve been applying through different platforms, but I’m not getting many responses, so I wanted to know where people are actually getting results.

For those who recently got their first job, which platform worked best for you?

  • LinkedIn
  • Naukri
  • Indeed
  • Wellfound
  • Instahyre
  • Company career pages
  • Referrals
  • Reddit
  • Directly messaging recruiters
  • Any other platform?

Also, if you’re a fresher or recently became a developer, how many applications roughly did it take before you started getting interviews?

I’m trying to figure out where I should focus most of my time instead of applying everywhere randomly.

Would really appreciate your experiences.

[Review] Final year CS student targeting Java Full Stack roles (React + Spring Boot) — feedback wanted

Hi all, I'm a final year B.E. Computer Engineering student (graduating 2026) based in Mumbai, applying for Java Full Stack Developer roles / internships. Would appreciate a review before I start actively applying.

A bit of context:

  • Did a frontend internship where I worked with ReactJS building dashboards and UI components
  • Since then I've been building up backend skills — Core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, PostgreSQL — through structured training and personal projects
  • Trying to position myself as a full stack candidate rather than "frontend intern trying backend"

Specific things I'd like feedback on:

  1. Does the summary read as genuinely full stack, or does the internship (frontend-only) undercut that?
  2. Are the project bullets too vague/too detailed? Trying to balance impact vs. fluff
  3. Anything that screams "entry-level padding" that I should cut
  4. Should I lead with Skills or Experience given I only have one internship?

Resume attached (redacted personal info). Thanks in advance!

2026 Passout – Confused About the Current Internship Market

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 B.Tech graduate and have been applying for internships and entry-level roles through LinkedIn, Internshala, company career pages, and other platforms, but I'm not getting many responses.

My current skills include:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • React
  • Core Java

I've been trying to understand whether my current skill set is competitive enough for frontend internships and what employers are expecting from candidates in 2026.

For those who recently secured internships or entry-level roles:

  • How difficult is the internship market right now?
  • Are React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS enough to start getting interview calls?
  • What skills or projects made the biggest difference in your applications?
  • How many applications did it take before you started receiving responses?

I'm trying to understand whether I should keep applying, focus on building more projects, learn additional technologies, or improve my resume.

I'd appreciate any advice or insights from people who have gone through a similar situation.

Thanks!

Is HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Core Java + learning React and Advanced Java enough to get a ₹10k–20k/month remote internship as a 2026 B.Tech graduate?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 B.Tech graduate (Computer Engineering) from India.

My current skills are:

HTML

CSS

JavaScript

Core Java

Currently learning:

React

Advanced Java

I've built a few projects and am continuously improving my skills.

I'm wondering if my current skill set is enough to realistically get a remote internship paying around ₹10,000–20,000 per month, or if I should learn more technologies before applying.

Some questions:

What roles should I target with my current skills (Frontend, Java Developer, Full Stack, etc.)?

Are projects more important than learning additional technologies at this stage?

What skills do companies usually expect for internships in this pay range?

Since I'm already a 2026 graduate, should I still apply for internships, or focus more on trainee/junior developer roles?

I'd appreciate any honest feedback or advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

Thanks! 🙏
