I am monitoring FT8 using WSJT-X and Grid Tracker 2. Receive only not transmitting. I am trying to save a running log file of the countries that I am receiving? Can’t figure it out could someone please help

Does it matter how long an End Fed Receive wire is?
I have a Tecsun H501x radio and have a question about signal strength display. The display has 2 digits for DbU, 2 digits for Db and S/N . What do these represent and why is the DbU always fluctuating and the Db is usually zero and hardly changes. I mainly listen to 40 meters LSB

Which antenna setup would work best?
Straight wire about 30 feet high and connected straight to the Hi-Z antenna input. If so how long should the wire be?
Wire with a 9 to 1 balun about 30 feet high. About 15 feet of RG8 coax to the 50 Ohm Hi-Z antenna input. The balun is ground. How long should the wire be and do I need a counterpoise?
