What is this noise coming from the middle of the cassette. Gear 6-10. I'm aware Sram has some noisy chains and cassettes, especially with increased chain line angles. I've ridden the Force cassette and chain for about a year and know the noise very well. However, this clicking/clunk noise coming from the middle of the cassette is new to me and it started after installing new wheels and a new Red cassette, using the old force chain. Continues with new red chain.
The wheelset has DT350s and the cassette was torqued to spec. Put the wheels back on using the force chain I have been using for the past year approximately. I had already ordered a new red rainbow chain so I thought I'd test out the wheels using the old chain for a few days. I immediately noticed this sound in the video coming from the middle of the cassette. It sounds like the chain doesn't have enough tension or something is loose. Shifting is fine through the entire cassette. The noise is very noticeable at slower speeds but tends to disappear when putting more power down. It's completely gone on the lowest and highest gears.
I thought maybe the derailleur may need to be tightened a bit more as per the new install instructions
So I loosened the bolt, pulled back the derailleur in the setup cog and tightened the bolt back to spec. The noise continued.
I now ran the same setup with the new red chain and it's doing exactly the same noise. I cut the chain to spec, degreased, and applied peatys drip wax.
Could the cassette be at fault here? Or the interface between the cassette and freehub? Could it be something with the DT 350 Hub vs the old vision v200 hub
If all fails, I will have to swap back to my force cassette and chain to rule them out.
Ordered this wheelset directly from Duke back in July and received them yesterday so approximately 6-7 week lead time. I decided to go for the non-wide version in 48 front and rear with DT350 hubs and Sapim Cx-Ray spokes and nipples. They come in at 1,374g for the pair with tape, no valves. Internal measurement is 28(hooked), 34 externally at the beads and 36 at the widest point.
I'm extremely satisfied with the wheels. Coming off the stock wheels which were rebranded VISION SC48 i25 wheels, these are lighter, stiffer, more responsive, and faster. I felt a clear improvement in crosswinds which helped me keep my line and overall felt more confident. The CFD profile is cool and according to Duke, it also helps with drag. These caracal race in 45 measure out to exactly 48mm on these wheels.
Selling these wheels without cassette for 500eur + shipping. Add 100 for the Sram Force xplr cassette. Wheels and cassette in great condition. These are rebranded VISION SC48 i25 wheels. 25 internal, 31 external, 48 deep, and weigh 1.575g with no cassette. Let me know if you have any questions or want additional pictures or specs. I recently got a new wheels and have the packaging to ship these out immediately and safely. Located in Croatia
Hot and extremely dry conditions out here
I recently got a notification for an OTA update which I proceeded to download and install. It downloaded just fine and the installation started, however, it was stuck at 99% install for a while and was unable to proceed to the activation step. I turned off the ignition while still at 99% and started it back up and it attempts to install the update but then quickly fails. It now notifies me every time I start the car that the update was unsuccessful. Is there anything I can do with the infotainment system to reset the update or get rid of these notifications? Can I find this update online and update it manually? I can't seem to find this update online. Located in Croatia
Looking into getting new gravel wheels and would like to know if anyone here has an idea when they will release the new Reserve 48/53 GR wheels?
