More often than not, people are just incompetent. As literacy levels, plummet and nuance becomes a thing of the past it’s safer to assume someone is actually just inept than purposely acting in bad faith.

One example I often see is the conversation surrounding wives and their husbands. A lot of women will complain that their husband or boyfriend doesn’t know how to do basic things and needs a mommy. They often attribute this behavior to manipulation, but the reality is that many men are simply poorly raised. They have “boy moms” who pamper them and fail to teach them essential life skills. A lot of these men don’t even realize that they are lacking these skills. With over half of US adults reading below a sixth-grade reading level it’s not surprising.

It’s so common on IG and TikTok as of late. The videos have the same cadence. All the sentences start off short. Often they use phrases like “and somehow.” It’s getting disheartening when so many freaking different creators are doing it. Am I the only one who constantly notices or are there others like me who wish the creators would stop using ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini to script their posts?

Stop putting hard small rock like items in soft sweet breads and pastries. Texture wise it ruins the dessert, plus some of us have nut allergies. Imagine if your sandwich bread/rolls had hard nuts in it. That would be terrible wouldn’t it. So why do it in banana bread???

Most people in the US that drive SUVs and pick-up trucks simply don’t need them. They could easily make do with a sedan or wagon. Before the 90s and 00s, large vehicles like that were uncommon. Now, most Americans drive SUVs and compact SUVs. Sadly, due to their popularity and the amount of money the automakers earn from SUVs, many smaller compact vehicles have been discontinued.

Most Americans aren’t hauling lumber every day, and of course, those who are need heavy-duty vehicles. The guy who once a year puts a dresser in his SUV would save a ton of money by just renting a U-Haul on the rare occasion.

Even if you have a few kids, you could follow the tradition of families in the past and buy a minivan (RIP). However, minivans are now almost extinct due to being perceived as uncool.
