‘What if all cockroaches came together?’ The youth movement threatening to shake up India’s politics | India | The Guardian
The weekend marked the first public protest of the Cockroach Janta party (CJP), a movement that began as an online joke, but which has swiftly grown into one of the most unexpected challenges to the indomitable power of the country’s rightwing Narendra Modi government – driven by millions of discontented and disillusioned young people.

Today Sonam Wangchuk, Tomorrow Who?
You’ve probably heard the name Sonam Wangchuk lately.
Yes, the same man who inspired 3 Idiots. The same Sonam Wangchuk who solved Ladakh’s water crisis with his Ice Stupa innovation. The man who transformed government schools in Ladakh — where children don’t just memorize, they think.
He didn’t work for himself. He worked for the country’s future.
But today, that same man is being called ‘anti-national’ by the government. Why?
Because he wants Ladakh to be included in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
Because he wants to protect Ladakh’s land, culture, and the rights of its people.
Because he’s asking for statehood — not charity, but a constitutional right.
Think about this:
The man who speaks of the Constitution is branded a traitor.
Meanwhile, those accused of heinous crimes are garlanded on stage, honored before cameras.
What kind of justice is this?
If asking questions is a crime, remember — the Constitution gave us the right to question.
Today the target is Sonam Wangchuk. Tomorrow it could be someone else.
Now the decision is ours:
Will we stay silent, or stand with the truth?
Net FDI falls 96% in 2024-25 to $353 mn, gross FDI remains robust
Net foreign direct investment (FDI) into India crashed by more than 96% to just $353 million in 2024-25 as compared to the previous year, the latest data from the Reserve Bank of India shows.
Net FDI is basically gross FDI, which is the total money coming in, minus the money being repatriated out by foreign companies doing business in India and the outward FDI by Indian companies.
While gross FDI into India remained strong, the net FDI figure was dragged down by increased repatriation of money back to their home countries by foreign companies doing business here, and higher foreign investments by Indian companies.
The data, released as part of the RBI’s May edition of its monthly bulletin, shows that repatriation and foreign investments by Indian companies have increasingly played a part in lowering India’s net FDI figures ever since the pandemic.
So, where the net FDI figure stood at $44 billion in the pandemic year of 2020-21, it fell to $38.6 billion the next year, $28 billion in 2022-23, $10.1 billion in 2023-24, and finally to just $353 million ($0.4 billion) in 2024-25.
“Net FDI moderated to US$0.4 billion during 2024-25 from US$10.1 billion a year ago, reflecting the rise in net outward FDI and repatriation FDI,” the RBI acknowledged in its report.
The BJP government sells optics, but numbers tell the truth. Net FDI has crashed from $28 billion to around $1 billion in two years. Investors are taking their money back while the Finance Minister keeps claiming everything is fine. A government obsessed with PR and an incompetent economic leaders

youtube.comThis is our money that have been looted
As per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data and government disclosures in Parliament, Scheduled Commercial Banks have written off bad loans worth over $19 lakh crore (approx. $227 billion) over the last 11 financial years (up to FY2024–25).
Additionally, between June 2014 and March 2023 alone, banks reported a loss of $4.69 lakh crore explicitly due to loan and banking frauds.
While the RBI defines "write-offs" as a technical accounting procedure to- clean up balance sheets - whereby banks remove fully-provisioned bad loans to focus on recovery-the reality of getting that money back is challenging.
Most of this was looted by companies based in Gujarat or owners of Gujarati origin.
