Patient Portal :(((

I know the world is moving towards greater access but as a solo provider practice it becomes quite overwhelming o get that many messages in addition to having to see patients, etc.

How do you reduce the amount of patient messages you get? Has anyone here just gotten rid of their patient portal altogether?

Google Ads. Can we talk about it?

I've been running google ads for about 2 weeks now. I've tried in the past and I stopped because I felt like I wasn't getting a good ROI and felt like I was wasting my money. It's been 3 years since I've run ads on google and started again because I saw a few other practices in the area utilize them.

Anyone use them consistently and what's been your experience? How do you get the best ROI with them?

Visit Cancellation

We have been getting a lot of visit cancellations lately. How do you guys reduce this? We send out calls, emails, texts to remind people. We use Phreesia so they can complete their forms in advance. But this summer we have noticed a big uptick in those cancellations

What are the options for a kid with possible level 1/level 2 autism?

Hi all,

First let me say our kid is awesome! We are going to get testing done for our 4yo son who has a developmental delay. He currently gets speech therapy and ot theough EI but is now aging out.

At one point we asked one of the specialists if she recommended aba for him and she said she didnt think the centers for a good fit for him and that he was too high functioning for that. I just want to know what our options are at this point.

He is verbal but getting him to answer open emded questions is hit or miss. We can ask what he wants to eat and and he is really good at requesting things, pointing, but he does script and is a Gestalt learner. Sometimes he says things we didnt even know he knew! So the speech has been evolving but that back and forth has not quite been there.

The other biggest thing we are working on now is helping him develop more confidence in his body so working on more tasks that require more coordination(putting on pants, shirt, etc).

Hes also not one to socialize. He makes good eye contact and follows instructions well but he doesnt always seem to have much interest in kids in daycare or he just ignores them even when they approach him. He might play next to them or away from them. But with us (his parents) he tries to get us to play woth him all thr time.

I guess im just wondering what options are available ? Would ABA be helpful? Should we try a new path? I hear so many stories of aba but I know its the older style vs. Now. But if the centers arent whats recommended for him then what would be?

Anyone here come from big extended families not have birthday parties for their kid?

Kid is under 5 and I never had a birthday party. We do activities and get cake and balloons and sing happy birthday but we dont have parties where we invite everyone over etc. Its focused more on our immediate family. We still hang out with them other times but we reserve birthdays for our immediate family. I always said if my little one wants a party one day I'll definitely have one but so far he hasn't asked or expressed any interest.

Anyone else do this? How do you cope/deal if extended family is furious? Do they care?

How do these people see me

Based on the cards it seems like theres a alot of competing views about me. With the ace of wands and the magician they see as someone who acts on my decisions. The empress and the tower clarified by page of wands, I seem to caused a huge disruption in how they see someone in my role/position. They're curious by how balanced i remain with the page of swords (temperance).

The 8 of wands clarified by 5 of wands it seems like theres a lot of different views and opinions about me.

But I think overall they see me as independent, strong willed, decisive, and not approval seeking.

How do you use tarot for shadow work?

Ive been trying to see the areas of my life that I need to work on to help get out of my own way. Id like to use tarot to do this. What kinds of questions can i ask to help streamline this process?

What do you guys do when youre pulling and cards fall out the deck and flip over?

Do you accept all of them in the reading or do you tend to put them back and reshuffle? Same with cards that fall out upside down. Do you include them that way or flip them?

Reposting why do I feel like I'm failing in life? queen of wands, king of wands, the world, 9 of cups, 8 of cups (2 of coins). the fool (bottom of the deck)

https://preview.redd.it/q75vehtqpw4h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0ff4598c55d2c6b7591191448ccd1b081e049da

I think what it might be saying is someone who isn't quite satisfied with all that they accomplished given the 9 of cups?

But it could also be that the model I've used to measure success just isn't working anymore with the fool. The card of going my own way?

How many of your patients are new vs. established 4 years in. How many sick visits vs. chronic disease management/annual physicals

For those of you in private practice as PCPs or have been, how many of your patients are new vs. established? I'm a solo provider and have been in practice for about 4.5 years now. I get booked out by about a week on slower months but I do find most of my visits are physicals or chronic care management. Very little sick visits. Do you guys find that to be the case? I remember when I worked for others I spent the vast majority of my day dealing with the sick visits and now that is just not the case
