Best phone for my mother....Please give suggestions 😅

Hi everyone from India,

I’m planning to gift my mother a new phone for her birthday and would really appreciate some recommendations.

Preferably ₹15,000–₹20,000, and priorities are:

\* \*\*Good battery life:\*\* She watches a lot of YouTube, bhajans, etc., so I’d like something that can comfortably last good during video usage.

\* \*\*Good durability/drop protection:\*\* She often uses her phone while cooking or doing household work, and unfortunately it sometimes falls on the floor 😅. So a phone with a strong build/display and decent resistance against accidental drops would be ideal.

\* \*\*Samsung preferred:\*\* Her current phone is also a Samsung, and she’s already comfortable with Samsung’s UI, settings, and apps. I’d rather not make her learn an entirely different interface if possible.

So basically, I’m looking for the \*\*best Samsung phone around ₹15k–₹20k with good battery life and durability\*\*. Camera and gaming performance aren't major priorities.

Samsung would definitely be my first choice, but if there’s **another brand/model** that is significantly better for these requirements, I’m open to considering it as well.

which model do you consider the best ?

Thanks in advance!

Public Health Insurance for Students

Hey everyone! Since I’m an international student, I’m about to start my bachelor’s in Germany after finishing Studienkolleg, so far i had a private insurance and I need to switch to public health insurance. I’ve compared the big names—TK, AOK, Barmer—but I’m still unsure. Cost isn’t a big deal since they’re more or less similar.

I’m looking for the one with the broadest coverage, great support, and extra perks—maybe bonus check-ups or something like gym benefits.

Also, I’ve heard conflicting things about skin issues—like with TK, some say skin problems are seen as cosmetic and not covered. What if it’s a real skin condition—like infection, eczema, or fungus? Are those covered? And what about dental—do they cover real dental issues (not cosmetic) fully or partially?

I’m can speak good German, so language isn’t an issue. I’d love to hear your experiences or advice! I’d really appreciate insights from other students who’ve been through this. What did you choose and why? Any specific benefits you’ve found helpful as a student? Especially if it helped during your studies or made your life easier in any way!

Edit: single, speaks german (b2) , 20 year old

How to Properly Dispose of Broken Electronics and Household Items in Germany?

Hey everyone, I need advice. We just finished cleaning our apartment and found several items that are completely non-functional: a broken TV (no physical damage, just doesn’t work), a non-working music system, a broken vacuum cleaner, some abandoned utensils, and a mattress with torn covers. Am I allowed to place these next to our dumpsters, or is there a proper way to dispose of such things in Germany? because we have no sufficient time and place to store them and wait for som BASTLER or to do VERSCHENKEN, I want to make sure I'm following the right process so i do not get trapped in some fine . Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

RWTH Aachen Student Looking for Accommodation – Winter Semester

https://preview.redd.it/ojw1dzuxfw9h1.png?width=1150&format=png&auto=webp&s=e65f3984f04ac5343c4c99a1da7915d950c03637

Hi everyone! I’m starting at RWTH Aachen this winter semester and I’ve applied for student dorms. I know the waiting lists are long! I picked my dorms based on cost and a shared apartment preference (3-4 people), but in the last month, I’ve noticed the waiting numbers barely moving.

I’m now open to any dorm with earlier availability, even if it’s a larger shared apartment. If any of you know dorms that might have shorter waiting times or a chance of earlier allocation, I’d love to hear your suggestions so I can update my list. Thanks a lot! Btw i will also be considering WG-s later on

Galaxy Watch 7: Overnight Calories Without Wearing It

I own a Galaxy Watch 7 (Bluetooth version). For the past few nights, I’ve just left it on the table while I sleep. But when I wake up, it shows zero steps and zero activity time—yet it still reports 500 to 600 calories burned. I double-checked with Samsung customer support, and they said it’s normal due to the watch estimating my basal metabolic rate. It knows my weight, height, and age, so it "assumes" calories burned even if I haven’t worn it overnight.

Has anyone else had this happen? If you leave your watch off all night, does it still show that many calories burned in the morning? Mine wasn’t connected to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi either. Just curious about other people’s experience!

Galaxy Watch 7 showing ~650 kcal burned overnight ...normal or defective?

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Galaxy Watch 7 (44 mm, Bluetooth) and wore it last night for sleep tracking

I went to sleep around 00:30 and woke up around 08:30. When I checked the watch in the morning, it showed that I had burned about 650 kcal (total calories).

I understand that our bodies burn calories while sleeping due to basic functions like breathing, heart activity, brain function, etc., but 650 kcal over roughly 8 hours of sleep seems quite high to me.

For reference:

Male, 21 years old

Height: 173 cm

Weight: 58 kg

Is this amount normal for the total calories shown by the Galaxy Watch, or could there be an issue with the watch or its calibration? Has anyone experienced something similar with the Watch 7?

I'm wondering whether this is expected behavior or if I should consider contacting Samsung or making a warranty claim.

How Do I Get This Minimal Circular Clock Face on My Galaxy Watch?

Hey everyone! I saw this super sleek minimal clock style on a Samsung phone lock screen. It’s a circular layout with the time in the center, surrounded by minutes in a ring. I’ve seen something like it for Galaxy Watches too! Does anyone know exactly what watch face this is or which app I can use to get this look on my Galaxy Watch? Any pointers would be awesome! Thanks in advance!
