What I learned from launching my first app after months of learning Unity

I recently launched my first mobile game after spending months learning Unity and trying to figure out the entire app business process as I went.
The game itself is a simple arcade game called Stackman Jump, but the launch has taught me much more than just game development.
I’ve had to learn about:
App Store submission and review
App Store Optimization (ASO)
Apple Ads
Game Center leaderboards
Ad monetization
User acquisition
Analytics
Marketing a completely new app with no existing audience
One thing I’ve found interesting is that building the app is only half the challenge. Getting people to actually discover it is a completely different problem.
I started running a small Apple Ads campaign, but after 24 hours it hadn’t spent any of the budget. That got me looking more closely at campaign setup, target CPA, keywords, and how Apple Ads actually delivers traffic.
For anyone who has launched an app before, what was the biggest surprise you discovered after launch?
Was it user acquisition, ASO, monetization, retention, or something else?

I made a game that looks simple… "Self-Promotion"

until you start trying to beat your own score 😅🎮
Stackman Jump is an endless arcade game where you jump from block to block. The controls are simple, but once the game speeds up, timing becomes a lot more difficult than I expected.
I originally built it as my first Unity game and it has grown quite a bit since then. I’ve added unlockable skins, high-score chasing, Game Center leaderboards, and other improvements along the way.
Now I’m curious — how far can other people actually get?
If you have an iPhone or iPad and enjoy quick arcade games, I’d love to see what score you can reach.

I launched my first Unity game 🎮

After months of learning Unity and working on my first game, I finally released Stackman Jump on the App Store.
My kids tell me it’s great for playing while waiting for school pickup or the bus 😂 So I hope other people find it fun too!
The gameplay is simple: jump from block to block, avoid falling, unlock skins, and try to beat your high score.
I’d genuinely love some feedback from other gamers and developers. This is my first released Unity game, so I’m still learning a lot!
