Restaurants with great vegetarian options?

Have family visiting this week for dinner, one vegetarian. We all like high-quality food and I don’t mind a slightly higher end price tag for a good dish. The rest of us are not vegetarian and have no other restrictions. Any ideas?

Styling and accessories with limited mobility?

I have limited mobility in my arms and hands but I want to find fun ways to style my long hair beyond leaving it down. I want to try scarf styles especially but I don’t know where to get ones that are long enough or how exactly to style it. I’m also able to do twist braids but I’m having trouble with anything more elaborate. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Where are all of the UT Outpost Satellites?

I know some are listed on the website but I’ve encountered a ton more that aren’t listed. I think it’s important that everyone knows where these resources are. Where are some buildings you’ve encountered one?

Lotion Recommendations?

Not yet diagnosed but pretty confidently leaning sjogrens. My skin is stupidly dry and constantly flaking. I can’t find a single lotion that can make it stay moisturized. I’ve tried the vaseline infused kind and it takes me about 5 pumps before my skin feels good, then wears off two hours later. I also have eczema so I’m especially sensitive. Are there any lotions that give you some relief?

Should I feel hurt that my friends forgot me?

My birthday was today, coinciding with father’s day. I had a great day with family who came to see me and many more birthday wishes from extended family.

The problem is only one of my friends messaged me. She wrote a long and beautiful message, I treasure her so much. She sent it right as it turned midnight just to be the first one to say it. I haven’t even known her a whole year.

My other friends didn’t send me a thing. Even the one I consider my closest didn’t say a word. I was kind of expecting it, no one asked me what I was doing or if I wanted anything (I don’t really, gifts are nice but I appreciate a message all the same). I know it was father’s day and people were busy, I don’t expect to be the first thing on their minds. They have other things in their lives and I do too, but I kind of feel like if one person could remember so could everyone else? Why am I memorizing their birthdays and calling or texting? I don’t even care about my birthday, I just can’t decide if I should care that they don’t care either. I don’t want to feel special, I just want to feel seen in the first place.

To be clear, I don’t doubt their friendship. These people have seen me through a lot and I’ve done the same for them. They’re good and loyal people, but I feel like they brush me aside sometimes and this is only amplifying it

What are some rewards people might miss?

I just found out on my most recent play through that the guy cowering by the coliseum pays you 100 rupees every time you defeat the lynel, not just the first time. What other fun/not obvious rewards do people tend to miss?

Names that work in many languages?

My partner and I are at a loss for baby names. He’s mixed Black/Mexican and I’m White/Indian. We want the name to sound good in English, Spanish, and Malayalam. We both prefer classic sounding names but many don’t fit all three languages (my own name included). Any ideas?

What are the weird “quirks” of POTS in your daily life?

For example, my heartbeat is so strong that my ears wiggle with it. If I have airpods in they’ll move with my heartbeat and bang against my earrings, creating what sounds like a very enthusiastic drummer in my ear.

Anyone else have silly little impacts like that? Or not so silly ones?

Timed Episodes

I’ve been having episodes of pre-syncope and extreme fatigue around the same time of day (2-3 pm). I remain lightheaded and exhausted for the rest of the day, but am perfectly fine after waking up the next morning. It has happened every day for the past week. I tried waking up earlier/later, timing meds differently, and varying mealtimes as well as the food I eat. Nothing has had an impact so far.

Has anyone else had this happen? If so, did you find a cause or solution? I should mention I’ve also recently (over the last 3 months) had new GI symptoms emerge, and we suspect gastropareisis, so I’m especially suspicious of how food factors into the equation.

Wearables

Has anyone found a good wearable for POTS? I used to use an Apple watch but the metal sensor triggered my nickel allergy. I prefer something that can update live rather than passively for hr, my hr jumps and resolves too quickly for most passive sensors. I’m not a huge fan of the subscription style but will wear one if it fits the other needs.
