Shop diagnosed my friend an external head gasket leak to the tune of $7000 replacement cost. Upon pulling the alternator and AC compressor, obvious BS became obvious.

2013 Subaru Legacy (2.5L boxer of course), $35 hose from the dealer. Slipped off like it was buttered. Original diag consisted of doing a pressure test, filming from somewhere, seeing coolant squirt out from behind the alternator (mounted in the center of the engine, away from the heads) and declaring it was from the head gasket.

Extremely loud grinding sound from fans

A year or two back, I had this sound come from my laptop. I went to a laptop repair store and they fixed the issue. Now, the issue is occurring again. I just opened my laptop and cleaned out the fans, finding nothing in them that I would suspect is making this sound. I'm assuming fan bearings have failed. How easy of a fix is it to DIY, and if possible would I be able to keep the fan and just replace the bearing with a bearing press?

Is there an open source method to find book times for vehicles (that isn't just AI generated)

I work on many of my friends' vehicles (usually at the cost of a large pizza and maybe a drink) and like to give them an idea of how much they saved by going through me; I don't have access to a shop book and was wondering if there was a free/open source resource to find book times for various vehicles.

It's a question so reddit says I have to give vehicle model so 2021 Toyota Prius Sport w/ 70k miles

Friend's VW Jetta had a P05A0. Servo was burnt up and passenger side of AGS assembly badly damaged. VW wanted too much for a new assembly and a PLA solution was established.

Sleeping in my car for the first time tonight... How much gas would I use if I keep the AC on overnight (it's 82F outside and a stratus deck should prevent it from going too much lower)
