Cory Wong Camp Questions

Hey guys, not sure if there is a more appropriate sub for this discussion, but does anyone know any particulars about the Cory Wong Camp in SF in August? I booked my spot and am super pumped for it! I’ll most likely be flying in and was wondering if we need to bring our instruments or if it’s just an option. If we do, then I’ll need to arrange a way to get my bass guitar there, either in an overhead (scary) or by driving. I’d appreciate if there’s any info you guys have that might be useful. Thank you! 🤙🔥

Side note: when I messaged Cory on IG he mentioned the orientation starts around 3/4pm on Thursday. Also I heard a more solid schedule will drop soon before the camp begins.

Guitar Flying Concerns? (Bass)

Hey guys. In August im flying out of a smaller regional airport on a 1.5 hr flight via United and I’m wondering if anyone has had experience bringing their guitars in the overheads of these smaller planes? I have a bass guitar that’s like 45” long in the gig bag, only like 4” deep. I called the airline, they said if it’s less than 105” it’ll fit in the overhead (assuming it’s not already full when I board) This sounds like bogus to me since there’s sometimes those dividers every 3’. Any experiences or advice? Another option is to drive, which I’d feel much safer, but cost wise is more expensive for me. Thanks!

Throwback to when I was 15

Hey guys, just looking though my old photos an thought I’d dump a few of my builds from when I was just a kid with too much courage, rushed designs and building processes, and an uncanny desire to hack wood with a jigsaw. It got pretty wild, but looking back I’m proud that I was able to try a lot of different designs, even though they’re hacked together. If you have any questions let me know, I’ll be glad to explain whatever you see. Trigger warning… some of these were SO BAD, like screwed on headstocks, bad routs, and some were ok, like when I built my first thinline Tele… which turned out great!

Friday Night Market Vibes?

I saw that this year’s first Friday Night Market is starting tonight and was thinking of going. Just curious what the vibe is and what to expect so I can weigh going or not. I’m a young guy who likes music (and food too :) not a big fan of crowds though. Anyone know what it’s like? Thanks

Mr Finish Line Alternate Takes?

Hey guys I was listening to Mr Finish Line today and heard Joe say at the end “Take 1 is my favorite” and thought how Ive always to hear that version, like is the bass extra funky? Are there extra fills? This piqued my curiosity and now I’m wondering if there’s any alternate takes to their songs posted online anywhere? Aside from Live performances or the multiple performances of songs from Clarity of Cal.

First, I know about the exes on the pics. Sorry.. that said, What can you draw from this list about my style as a musician, or tendencies? There’s a lot on here based on vibes and recent listening habits, but there’s many I consider to be the best in their genre… What am I missing out on? What kind of albums could I go to next? This is a current rotation list with no order
