Should I pay a hairstylist to make a wig for me for 600 dollars?

Has anyone ever done this before? This hair stylist usually does sew-ins but does offer the option to make a custom made wig and I'm thinking of biting the bullet. I've been wearing wigs for about 3 years now and love the time I save. However in this time I've probably had about 5 or 6 wigs that I wear til I can't. The last wig I bought was by far the worst as it started balding in the front. Since I got rid of that one I tried a sew in and didn't like it at all (I wanted to take it off lol).

But while I was getting the sew in the hair stylist told me it would be better to just make a custom wig with good quality hair and have it reinstalled since that would be easier and less time. I am thinking of biting the bullet. The cost does include virgin hair and I basically wear the exact same style as well. Has anyone done this? I have my natural hair out right now and it's so long and big, it's very time consuming especially since I go to the gym, so I'm trying to figure out if I should get this custom wig or just buy another wig for like 300 dollars to wear for the year. Thank you!

I am over the hump of being sad/depressed, now I'm angry and want the world to know

My BPD ex husband was abusive. I had a come to Jesus moment in my last therapy session because I met a guy who I like A LOT since I left him 1.5 years ago and was feeling pretty hopeful until I realized that I was somewhat sabotaging our relationship. I ended up having a complete breakdown in my therapy session because I realized I was AFRAID of him turning out like my ex. This guy has loving parents and a great childhood and a completely different disposition than my ex! He has a lot of friends, is very enthusiastic and a great communicator so I know he doesn't have anything near BPD. He was treating me so well and giving me the best affirmations and planning dates and showing that he wanted to be with me and was excited to see me and I loved it but couldn't let myself be fully in the moment with him.

Then in therapy I realized I had residual trauma from my ex who broke me down so much. Made me feel ashamed for the smallest things. Made me feel bad for doing everything. Was physically abusive to me and lied to me constantly. Was on dating apps talking to other women when I told him we should break up so he can work on himself. The worst freaking trauma. I didn't properly deal with it and thought I moved on by trying to be his friend and friendly with him and it just turns out I am holding onto so much trauma.

I haven't told anyone outside of my therapist and my ex boyfriend who is now one of my good friends about what he did to me and I'm carrying so much shame that I stayed with him.

I am not someone who has a lot of regrets in life at all, but I genuinely wish I never met this man. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to walk away. The pain, the scars, the trauma.

I am so glad at least I do not pine for him anymore, that I don't want a relationship with him any longer. But the betrayal and the insanity that I went through I truly wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I don't want to carry the shame of this abuse anymore and I'm currently trying to figure out how to go about unburdening myself. I want to tell my friends. I want to tell the world what I endured in this relationship. e

My life has improved ten fold since leaving my ex. Your life is NOT over!

Making the decision to leave my ex was hard (though it shouldn't have been) because I was afraid of going back to a life that seemed foreign to me at the time. I was only with my ex for four years but they were brutal. There was definitely love shared between us but now that I'm a year and a half out of the relationship I do not believe the things I endured was actually worth it. Though, I'm here now and better for it.

One of the biggest barriers for taking so long to finally leave was this fear that somehow my life would be a lot worse. I was moving from my own apartment that we shared back into a room in my mom's apartment that isn't as nice and I had to start over (in a new country much less). I was angry and depressed for the first month back. However, slowly I started returning to myself. I got a job that I LOVE after a rocky start at one that I HATED, I started working out and lost 15 lbs to get back to my comfy weight and I grew my social media following by 120,000 followers since I left him (when I would make content at our home I didn't feel comfortable recording around him because he would make certain underhanded comments about this pastime of mine).

And after a rocky start I even started dating. I have had some pretty demoralizing experiences for sure, but I have also had ones that were extremely validating for me and integral to me moving on from the trauma inflicted by my ex in my marriage. Six months into leaving him and still at a higher weight than I was comfortable, I was courted by a man on social media who made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. Things didn't work out because I was not ready, but I am eternally grateful for that experience.

I have a great relationship with my mother. I actually never want to leave her apartment after making my bedroom as nice as the apartment I left. I am going to a really fun party with my friends on Friday and the beach on the weekend. There is just so much life left to be lived after divorce. Do not be afraid of leaving. The familiarity of pain, trauma, unhappiness is not worth the chance to be completely unencumbered, free, and hopeful again. This is truly the best period of my life. Hi

I don't want to think about my hair for the next few months. Which protective style would you recommend?

Hey everyone. I have 4A hair. I've been wearing a wig for the last 3 years and my hair has grown immensely. The last wig I ordered has by far been the worst and it has put me off the idea of wearing them altogether. I'm looking for a new protective style. I'm going to be super busy these coming 2.5 months and I do not want to think about my hair. I have to go to the gym, travel for work, travel for surgery and I'm looking for something that I don't have to think about. Right now, getting a sew-in is my number one option. I'm considering braids too but every time I take them out I have insane breakage. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend anything else that I'm not considering? Thanks a lot.

Did my text message signal something that I am not aware of?

Hey everyone. I am really bad at texting and an awkward person in general. I am almost too honest when I text and therefore don’t like to do it too much.

I was ghosted by this guy after I sent the following texts. I am pretty much over this date that I had with this person and actually do not take the ghosting personally (in the sense that I recognise that it doesn’t mean I have some significant personality flaw or anything like that).

But I am wondering if the text that I sent could have signaled something that I am not aware of. Because I am constantly learning and haven’t dated really for years (I was in a long term relationship for 5-ish years) I would just like to know how to approach things in the future to avoid things that are avoidable. Which is why I come to you for advice!

Looking for the best glueless bang/human hair wig! The one I have right now is the worst I’ve had so far!

Hey everyone. I love a glueless bang! Either Yaki or wave is good with me. I just need the bangs to hefty because the ones I have currently are thin and you can see the lace underneath. It’s driving me crazy! I’m gonna see if I can cut them to make them thicker but I’d really like another option.

I appreciate y’all so much. Thanks a ton!

Should I take out a personal loan to start a business that would help me reach financial independence much sooner or use my entire savings?

Hey everyone. Everyone is giving me different answers so let me come to people I don't know. If you have a better option please allow me to hear it.

I have just received my electrology license and I would like to open up this business in the city that I live in (NYC). If you don't know what electrology is it's a form of permanent hair removal using a probe. Some people may think it's just cosmetic but a lot of people who have PCOS or unwanted facial hair utilize this service so it is something that many people must budget for. In order to start the business I need to spend at least 20k dollars (machine, materials, website, etc). I am itching to start the business because I know I could market it well and I will be offering competitive prices in addition to having a nice following on social media that I can use to market the business.

I would like to use a loan so that I don't have to basically use my entire savings to start this business. I looked for the loans that I qualify for and there is one with a 21% APR with just 3k in interest over the span of 2 years. I could pay this loan back in probably 6-8 months comfortably without draining my savings.

A couple of my friends are staunchly against taking out loans if I have the money and another says it's the best way to go. I am weighing options right now and going to sit on it for another week but would be willing to hear anyone's advice regarding this matter.

Hey everyone. I am planning on opening up my own business this summer. I will be offering electrology in NYC and will be having my own practice! Initially I was stressing about the initial startup fees but have decided to get a small business loan.

Some people would express caution in this type of scenario considering the state of the economy but I'm offering electrology services at a very discounted price since it's so expensive in NYC! I also really love doing it and was naturally skilled while getting my license.

I'm wondering if any of you who took the plunge have any words of wisdom for me at all. I will accept everything. This career path is also going to help me eventually move out of the US so I have to start as soon as possible!

Hey everyone. I lived in Hamburg more than a decade ago and decided to move back to Germany next year. I studied German prior to moving, while I lived there and then in University and eventually tested at a B2 level when I was 24 years old. However eight years later and I haven't spoken the language since (except when I was stuck at the Austrian border and had to ask some police for help). I tried looking for German classes in my area but surprisingly the reviews aren't amazing.

I'm wondering if anyone with more knowledge and awareness can recommend an online course I can take or a good website for me to practice reading everyday. I have some study materials at home and novels as well but looking for something more formal with a teacher who can motivate me. I want to be fluent by the time I move so I'm not playing around. I truly appreciate it. Thank you!

It's looking more like 1 year at this point by the way.

Hey everyone. I grew up in NYC and moved a few times since then. I've spent 7 years abroad in total and decided to move back last year. I moved in with my mom and do not pay rent here and have been hell bent on purchasing an apartment since I came. I am now saving to open up my business and once I get that running I should be able to put down a down payment on an apartment. However, now I'm considering leaving the country again next year to go back to living in the EU.

Would it make sense to purchase the apartment if I'm just going to move. I wanted to have a place here because my entire family is here and if I move I'd consider renting it to a family member. But I don't know if it's good to have property for the sake of it if I'm not going to actually live in the apartment for a long time.

I appreciate any and all perspectives I know nothing about owning property and would be the first person in my immediate family who has purchased any. Thank you!
