What does career development at your company look like?

We talk a lot about entering but once you're in the role and have been for a while, I'm curious how your all's companies handles career development and what sorts of things you all do to develop in the role.

Safe to eat pinto beans from cans with small dents?

These cans each have small dents in the side. I've seen posts here about that and wanted to check what the verdict is on these cans. Is it safe to use the beans or should I toss them?

How are the Ponds at GE apartment complexes?

I'm thinking of moving here and while I really love the nature-y feel, I'm worried that will come with a lot of people partying outside late into the night. That's what I'm currently trying to move away from. Does anyone have experience with this specific apartment complex and how their management is with that sort of thing? The building I lived in during college had a noise policy but never cared if anyone broke it, and as someone who strongly dislikes getting woken up by noisy neighbors I'm looking to move somewhere better. I'm also open to other building recommendations. Thanks!!

Nothing I do is ever good enough for my parents and I'm so tired

I did all the things I was supposed to do. Good grades, job in high school, went to college, went to grad school, did internships, got a job, and am now trying to live a life that brings me peace. No matter what, it's never enough. I'm not married. I don't come home enough. I'm not grateful enough. I stayed at the job for too long (not like they're any help with finding a new one, especially in this market). I stayed in the same house in the neighborhood they didn't like for too long. It's always something.

I'm so tired of this. Is it bad I don't want to visit them because all they do is judge, judge, judge? It's not like I can share anything about my life with them, they don't support me financially or emotionally. It's just draining. I don't think they love me or like me.

Pairing MGT 8813 (Financial Modeling) with CDA or Time Series?

Hi all, I'm in OMSA getting more towards the part of track electives, and am going either A track or C track. My main goal of the program is to take courses that cover topics I am interested in or would be relevant to my job (Data Science, but hoping to round out the skill set with more engineering too where possible).

I'm also interested in finance, generally. It's not the most relevant to my role but I actually did like that module in 6201 and I would be interested in learning more about financial modeling, simulations for things like retirement, etc. how doable would pairing this course be with something like CDA or time series analysis? I've paired up courses before and it's tough but doable, but I feel like time series and CDA may be pushing it on splitting time between that and another course.

I would be taking sim the semester before either for a brush up on stats, calc, probability, etc and have already taken Regression.
