Why do simple space pirates (Corsair Raiders) hit harder than Bezekers

Was just comparing stats....
Corsairs are casually flopping around a S5 weapon, while bezerkers are stuck with a S4 chainblade.

Are nails not nailing enough? what do bezerkers plan on killing with S4 weapon?

Any common models i need to be wary of before buying

Hey Pirates,

I already have two armies: T’au and World Eaters. To avoid building yet another set of Berzerkers, I decided to pick up some Corsair Raiders (5) to kitbash.

Of course, they needed a friend, so I grabbed another set of Corsair Raiders (5). Then I figured I couldn’t leave them without a leader, so I got a Reaver Captain too. At that point, I thought I might as well get Huron and a squad.

So, in the end, I somehow ended up with the Red Corsairs Battleforce box, plus Huron and the gang.

Now I might as well build the army up to 1,000 points.

Any kits I should avoid buying right now because they’re likely to get replaced soon?”

Its been now 10 years since the Tau got a non character unit/model

For the actual Tau range, not Kroot, not Vespid, and not named characters, the last genuinely new unit kit I can think of was the Ghostkeel back in 2016.

That is a full decade.
This is actually 25th year of Tau Being in Warhmmer released originally in August 2021.

I do not understand why GW seems so reluctant to expand one of the most visually distinct factions in 40k. T’au have such a clear design space: experimental battlesuits, drones, more stealth units, artillery platforms, Fire Caste specialists, long range recon unit, heavy infantry with force shields, and weird Earth Caste prototypes. There are so many obvious directions they could go.

Why dont GW release more Tau models so I can spend my money on them, whats the use of all the money if i have no Tau to show for it

Note: I love my Auxiliaries and have a standalone of 800 points in vespid and kroot. That doesnot change the fact that no new Tau unit has joined in. Its literally in the first line.

No new unit (excluding epic Heroes - Twin lance and other refreshes) that has the For The Greater Good (FTGG) ability as a base has been added to the Tau empire Faction in last 10 years?

Does LoV have a design team?

I had a question about Games Workshop’s product design process, especially around the Leagues of Votann range.

Do the Leagues of Votann models have a separate design team compared with ranges like Space Marines, T’au, Necrons, etc.? Or is the design work handled by the same broader GW design studio, with different designers assigned to different kits?

The reason I’m asking is because, from a building and hobby perspective, the LoV kits I’ve worked on feel noticeably different from many other GW kits I’ve built.

So far, I’ve built two Hernkyn Pioneer models, and the build process has felt pretty rough. There are a lot of small, hard-to-align details, and the way the riders are positioned on the bikes makes assembly feel more restrictive than I expected.

I’ve also noticed that many of the LoV models feel very monopose. They look great once finished, but the kits don’t seem to allow much easy kitbashing or posing variation, which feels a bit odd given how much GW often encourages conversions and personalisation.

Wait....... stealth suits are to hit on 5s?

In the process of getting into i almost filed to recognise that from now on stealth suits, will be standardly shooting on 5s.

i mean they were not great anywho, but 5s!!!!

the terrain is so dense that, anything worth shooting will be insidea terrain feature to control an objective

Riptide's Heavy burst Cannon being so...........Underwhelming

The Riptide’s Heavy Burst Cannon feels almost absurdly underwhelming in its current state. i tried it into a game.

For a weapon mounted on such an imposing battlesuit, Strength 6 with only AP -1 is frankly egregious. Into Terminators, who are sitting at Toughness 7, the profile barely gains meaningful traction, even when factoring in the Retaliation Cadre bonus. The supposed advantage feels marginal at best. Even against standard Space Marines, the weapon is still only pushing them onto a 4+ save in many cases, which makes the damage output feel disappointingly anaemic for a platform of this stature.

This becomes even more frustrating when considering how frequently Ballistic Skill modifiers and related support pieces can be removed or disrupted. Once those layers of efficiency are stripped away, the Riptide’s already questionable offensive output becomes even harder to justify.

And that is before even addressing the volume-of-fire issue.

The disparity is simply too severe, especially when the Riptide’s own defining ability is limited to a once-per-game effect. For a unit that is supposed to represent elite T’au battlesuit engineering, the Heavy Burst Cannon feels less like a devastating advanced weapon and more like a disappointingly restrained afterthought..... this especially when kroots hold a S7, Ap -1, D2 weapon.

is there a website that provides size accurate cutouts of 40k models for printing

I wanna get my friends into 40k and its not gonna hapopen with the cost of the models.

So im planning to get him to play a 500 point match with me and i wanted print outs of orks, eldars and black templars as this is their favourite factions.

I saw someone put cutouts of tau models on similar sized bases , now im wondering if there happens to be a website that provide pre-sized designs that i can cutout of 40k models on a A4 paper

GW..... I dont need new rules..... Just an alternative model for hearthguard

I just finished building my 3rd unit of Hearthguard, and I'm honestly burned out on the kit. The poses, bodies, and overall look are so similar that building multiple units starts to feel repetitive.

Personally, I think Hearthguard shouldhave been released as a 10man box with ball jointed hands and more interchangeable parts. A little extra flexibility would have gone a long way toward making each unit feel unique.

I don't need new rules or another datasheet.............I'd just like an alternative Hearthguard model kit or even a upgrade sprue to add some variety to the range.

when was the last time you used the riptide's ion acclerator without it being over charged?

The standard profile and the overcharged profile feel too similar, so the standard shot seems almost completely redundant. Most of the time, there is little reason not to overcharge it.

I think the weapon would be more interesting if the two profiles filled different roles instead of one simply being stronger. For example:

  • Spread: more shots, lower Strength and Damage, intended for infantry or light targets.
  • Focused: fewer shots, higher Strength, AP, and Damage, intended for vehicles and elite units.

That would make choosing a firing mode an actual tactical decision rather than an automatic supercharge.

Any purchaseable 3d bits i can download and print out to enhance my WE guys

I see that loyalist get a lot of custom bits like Blood Angels or Dark Angels, etc...... but i am currently not seeing any WE upgrade bits....

any suggestions?

Krootox Rampagers - Can the rider fuck off and make the rampagers just beasts

The weird part is that, thematically, both halves of the model should be able to move through ruins/walls in a reasonable way. The rider is basically just a Kroot Carnivore, and Kroot infantry can move through walls. The Krootox itself is a beast, and beasts can also move through walls. So individually, both parts feel like they should be able to navigate terrain without issue.

But because they’re combined into this mounted unit, they suddenly get restricted in a way that feels unintuitive. It creates this odd rules situation where:

  • Kroot on foot can go through walls.
  • Beasts can go through walls.
  • But a Kroot riding a beast cannot.

That just feels backwards.

Id happily loose the shooting and extra attacks from lance if it means i can just go through walls and engage.

Pangolier feels like the definition of a pro-jail hero now

I honestly think Pangolier is one of the best-designed heroes in Dota.

The concept is excellent: high mobility, terrain abuse, angle-based fighting with Swashbuckle, Shield Crash, AoE disables, and the ability to turn messy fights into outplays. That is exactly why it is so frustrating to see the hero balanced into his current state.

Pangolier no longer feels like a normal pub hero. He feels like a hero balanced around pro players, voice comms, perfect follow-up, and coordinated teamfights, while the average pub player is left with a hero that feels underwhelming unless everything lines up perfectly.

The game is already difficult enough for him, especially with how easily Rolling Thunder can get stuck between random invisible terrain edges or awkward map geometry. with recent nerfs to his skills, Disables, preferred items everything feels more punishing, but the hero just does not become strong enough to justify that level of difficulty.

In pro games, these nerfs are manageable. Supports bring resources. Teams play around Pangolier’s cooldowns. Players understand when to collapse after Rolling Thunder connects. Drafts are built to enable him. Fights happen around vision, choke points, and prepared objectives.

In pubs, none of that is guaranteed.

You roll in, maybe hit two heroes, and your team is farming triangle. You start a fight, but nobody follows up. You need one more spell to survive, but you are out of mana. You lose lane slightly, miss your item timing, and suddenly you are just a low-damage melee hero waiting for Rolling Thunder to maybe matter.

That is the problem: Pangolier’s ceiling is still high, but his floor feels awful.

I do not want Pangolier dumbed down. I do not want Rolling Thunder made brainless. I do not want the hero turned into a stat-check brawler like like axe, centaur, juggernaut, etc.

But he needs something that improves his pub consistency without making his coordinated pro teamfight even more oppressive. Better early mana stability, Return of silence chance to have a lane threat on someone jumping on him. slightly less punishing lane sustain, and smoother scaling would go a long way.

Aggressive Advance: While this model is leading a unit, models in that unit have a Move characteristic of 10" and each time a model in that unit makes a Normal, Advance, Fall Back  or Charge move, it can move horizontally through terrain features.

India customs charged ₹1.68 lakh duty on a used model set worth under ₹5,000 - what can be done?

Hello everyone,

I am an Indian student currently studying at the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. In my free time, I enjoy building Warhammer miniatures, and I wanted to send a small second-hand set to a friend in Mumbai.

I purchased a used set (Necron Kill Team set- if important) from Facebook Marketplace in Thailand and shipped it to my friend in Mumbai using regular Thai Post.

The total value of the goods is under USD 50, approximately ₹4,9xx. However, Indian customs has apparently assessed the parcel and imposed a charge of around ₹1,68,000 before releasing it to my friend.

This amount seems completely disproportionate to the value of the item. The goods are not new, not for resale, and were sent as a personal shipment.

I would appreciate advice on the following:

  1. Can my friend refuse delivery and challenge the customs assessment?
  2. Is there a formal process to request reassessment of the customs duty?
  3. Which authority or office should we contact in Mumbai for this?
  4. What documents should we provide to prove the actual value of the goods?- all i have is FB Chats

Any guidance from people familiar with Indian customs or postal imports would be appreciated.
