Wi-Fi signal dropped to 1-2 bars right after screen replacement (ThinkPad L15 Gen 2 AMD)
Hi everyone,
I just got my ThinkPad L15 Gen 2 (AMD) back from a repair shop where I had the broken LCD screen replaced.
As soon as I booted it up at home, I noticed the Wi-Fi reception is terrible:
* Standing right next to my router in the same room, it barely gets 2 bars.
* Moving to the next room drops the signal to 1 bar or disconnects completely, while my phone and other devices get full signal everywhere.
The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly before the screen broke. I’ve already tried resetting network settings in Windows 11 and updating drivers via Lenovo Vantage, but nothing changed.
Since the Wi-Fi antenna cables run through the screen bezel, I assume the technician either forgot to snap the U.FL connectors back onto the M.2 Wi-Fi card properly, or pinched/damaged the cables while closing the bezel.
Should I pop the bottom cover off to check if the connectors are just loose on the card, or take it straight back to the shop immediately? Thanks!
