New set up added panels learning

Powerwall after solar increase

Just want to check with people this should improve!

Had solar panels and powerwall installed last week and unfortunately for the first week only 2 of our arrays were working as the roofer had forgot to connect them properly.

The powerwall was working and learning with a much smaller solar production than we are now getting.

We are now producing about triple the kWh we were for the first week. We do not have permission to export yet.

The problem is the powerwall is still charging on the cheap overnight rate more than needed as doesn't seem to be aware it will fully charge during the day and keeps pulling a small amount from the grid during the day to power the house despite the battery being full and solar being capped due to no export.

Should this improve when we get export and when the powerwall learns we're getting more solar regularly?

Solar not producing as expected

Recently had a powerwall 3 installed with solar panels.

We have 5x 485kw aiko panels on east side, 4x south and 6x on the west. We should have 3 strings but the net zero app looks like we only have 2 am I understanding this correctly?

We're also getting significantly less than expected on a day that has been bright sunshine (currently in a heatwave in UK). We are awaiting export permission from DNO not sure if this is limiting it (we now realise we shouldn't have had it installed until this was back).

Contacted the installer so hoping they'll get back to us tomorrow.

Best tariff for solar panels and electric vehicle

Hi

We are getting solar panels with a Tesla powerwall. I also have an electric car which I suspect will need to be charged twice a week.

Which energy tariff would you recommend?

Looking at octopus go or EDF?

Thanks for any advice!

Which electric car on a budget?

I'm looking to get a used electric car which will be mainly used for short journeys around town but once a week will be used for a 100 to 150 mile round journey. We have solar panels now so plan on getting an electric charger.

I'd like something which is newer than 2024 ideally and have been looking at my zs, mg4, vauxhall mokka, Citroen c3 and also seen Dacia spring although not sure if it's powerful enough.

Anyone have any advice what options may be best or what to look for? Wanting something as reliable as possible really!

Merach or home fitness code walking pad

Merach or home fitness code

Looking for a walking pad with an incline around £100 mark. I'm aware they're not amazing and won't last long it's mainly for getting more steps in when my son is in bed.

I am looking at the two above makes and read good things about merach but I don't think the price range I have has a brushless motor whereas the home fitness code one does.

Looking at this merach

Home fitness code

Looking for a walking pad to use whilst watching TV when baby is in bed as can't leave the house. Don't have much space so can't get a treadmill and will be mainly for getting steps in.

Would like one with an incline.

I'm aware they'll likely only last a year or so. Heard good things about home fitness code and deciding between their z3 model which has manual 5% incline or if it's worth paying more for y3 with auto incline of 12%. Has anyone got either and anything to consider. Y3 looks like it's alot heavier is it easy to move around from one room to another?

Thanks for any help.

Which tariff should I use?

Recently got solar panels and a Tesla battery installed and was planning to move to octopus flux but they've just informed me it is currently unavailable which is great!

What are the best alternatives octopus go or agile? Or would another supplier be better?

Aiko 3s 475w Vs 2s 510w

I have the option of 11x aiko 3s 475w panels

Or 11x aiko 2s 510w panels for £200 less

I'm aware efficiency is better with the 3s but the 2s has more wattage an I likely to see much of a difference?

Easiest way to set up solar and battery

Sorry probably stupid questions but completely new to this! We are planning on getting solar panels and a battery. We will likely generate more solar power than we use in summer months and hope to charge the battery on a low off peak tariff at night to use during the day when needed.

What I don't understand is how you do this, do I have to manually set to charge it each night when I know the next day won't be sunny? Then manually export it when we have excess at peak times? How will I know how much I'll use at peak times and how much to export? Seems like a lot of management.

I like the idea of AI on Tesla powerwall and sigenergy as looks like this manages it for you although they're much more expensive and not sure I understand things correctly and if the extra cost is worthwhile! Do others have an element of AI?

Thanks for any help.

Solar panels and Tesla powerwall quote north east/Yorkshire

Hi we're looking at getting 11 panels on our roof. It's a bit of an awkward A shaped type of roof with 4 sides so we need 4 panels on east and west side and 3 panels on the front south side.

We've had a couple quotes for aiko and eurner panels with powerwall 3.

Quotes are coming in £12500-13500 does this sound reasonable?

I keep seeing quotes of similar for less but can't seem to find any locally so keen to see your opinions?

Got two quotes for 11 solar panels with a Tesla powerwall. Which panels are better? Both a similar price? Thanks!
