FTTP On Demand doesn't exist

Today I have called every fibre company with a presence in my county. Literally none of them will do FTTP On Demand. It's not a case of cost, they simply won't consider doing it. Most support agents answering phones have never heard of it and none of the companies were able to provide it.

For reference, I'm in a rural area, about 25m from the cabinet, no buildings between me and the cabinet. About 25% of properties in the village have FTTP.

So I need to leave Ionos tonight- where do I go?

Launched my product yesterday, have domain & hosting with IONOS.

Today, IONOS hosting is down, they tell me they don't have access to the shared server my site is on, so they cannot even temporarily move the sites affected onto a new server. Apparently 1000's of customers are affected.

So I need to move. I have a site with 2 static pages, hosting of 20GB of data (but will need to move up to 100GB fairly soon), 1 SQL database.

This is just a small 1-person project but after 6 months of work, the site I've pointed my test userbase to go to being down is a kick in the teeth.

EDIT- Thanks all. I'm now fully moved over to Zume. Their team is very helpful and the price is decent.

Site down- Ionos support says 1000's of customers effected- why am I not seeing anything online?

My site is giving error 429, no pages are loading.

I have a super simple site- a static page with a download link & a contact form. I see Ionos are reporting some issues with Wordpress currently, but support have confirmed this issue with hosting I am facing is different to the current wordpress issue.

I get its the weekend, but I'm surprised to see nothing on downdetector.

How do you make Qt widgets look less like Qt?

I am a solo drv and terrible at UI to preface this. I am a creative but apparently that creativity cannot stretch to UI.

My main competitor uses Qt for their UI, specifically Qt Advanced Docking System. I didn't know this, until I did some research, called on Qt & ADS, and discovered I was making a near exact UI clone.

So I'd. Love any advice, Qt specific or not, how do you stylize your UI to make it match your brand and your style and look, without looking like every other Qt app in the whole world?

Anything to know about before buying an 85x Sportline?

Looking at getting a second hand 85x Sportline, probably 1 or 2 years old.

What is this mould on objects that were in dishwasher?

Accidentally left the dishwasher full and dirty for 4 hot days. When I came back, some objects had loads of mould on them.

We've deep cleaner the dishwasher now, but the mould isn't coming off the objects without a lot of scrubbing. Should I be worried about what it is? Do I have to throw these items out?

ANSI to ISO conversion- is it possible?

Got a keyboard in my budget I really liked, then learnt that ANSI and ISO are different.

I really like the board so I'm curious if there's a way to adapt a keyboard for ANSI to ISO, or do something close or that?

The biggest issue I have is the return keys different size, Which I expect is the biggest physical problem to fix too.

Anyway I'm starting to understand why this hobby is so exciting for you all!

Help finding the right keyboard actually in stock!

I'm really struggling to find the right keyboard for myself. From the research I'm doing they're either out of stock or recommended not to purchase in this sub-reddit.

  • Size: TKL
  • Switches: Tactile
  • Lighting: RGB backlit keys
  • Audio controls: Dedicated start/stop/skip/volume controls, not a roller.
  • Colour: White/neutral base with highlight colours
  • Budget: £120 max, all in.
  • Wired or Wireless. If wireless, USB-C charging.
  • Must be in stock and purchasable in the UK right now
  • I would LOVE a little LCD screen on it.

The ones I've had a look at so far are:
Keychron V3 Max - Reddit says Keychron is unreliable
Ducky One 3 Classic TKL- No stock
RK Royal Kludge R87 Pro- No stock
Epomaker TH80 Pro- No stock
Logitech G713 TKL- Poor reviews on reddit

KVM Switch Recommendation- 3 PC's

I had a cheapo Amazon 2 PC KVM currently and it worked fine for only 6 months before one of the HDMI inputs died. I'm now moving to 3x PC's (2x Windows machines, and a mac mini).

I think I want to move to Displayport only. I have a 4k 60hz monitor & a 1440p 100hz monitor, both take DP input. Both my PC's have 2x DP outputs on the GPU.

Any suggestions? I can find £100 ones on Amazon which from reading online die as fast as my previous one. UGreen sounds like decent quality /bang to buck but they only make 2x computer KVM's. LevelOneTechs are more like £600 which feels like too much.

Can anyone suggest something more like £200 that can do this?

I'm also wondering if there's a world in which I do DP over USB-C, and have adapters on the PC's & also by the monitors, then use a USB-C switch. But that might be over-complicating things.
