I’m thinking the solid color duvet and maybe accenting with the checked pillow cases. I really wish they were stripes and not checks but am having a tough time finding stripes in the right color that are also in stock. Thoughts? I’m also open to other color combos. The only thing I own so far are the flowered sheets.

I’m not in the best situation right now, I’ve lived here for 10 years but need to get out on my own. My budget is low but I’ve found some older, very small apartments near Cheesman Park that I can afford. Trying to avoid jumping from one bad situation to another, would a single woman be relatively safe living alone in that area? Or should I keep searching? I also do not have a car so something with walkability/transport options is required.
My shoes are less than 30 days old, they’ve never been wet or left out in the sun. I’ve mostly worn them indoors. The right shoe is very dull compared to the left. Is this typical? Any advice to get it back to its original sheen/color? They looked identical when I bought them.
There are 20 people in our department with the same job title. They are only requiring six of us to be in an after hours on call rotation (evenings and weekends) We are attempting to push back and looking for advice.
