The browser I was looking for

I was a long time edge user but sadly it doesn't work on my laptop anymore (I have a macbook 2015 on Monterey so I knew it was coming).

I've been using Helium for a week and it's been the best browser I've ever used. It's so fast and lightweight and just works. Going forward, Helium will always be my browser of choice.

My prediction of how the elder Princes would run their kingdom if they became the King

  1. Benjamin: Kakin achieves world unification. Martial focused, I expect mandatory military training for civilians for those who are capable. His descendants will root out corruption like the mafia and stop practices such as the carnivale. No, Kakin will not be dictatorshjp and the people’s lives won’t be hell. It’ll probably be quite good.
  2. Camilla: I really have no idea what her kingdom will be like. She seems vain but there’s something about her that still isn’t really explained. It’s been said she wants to change the system like Halk…but what kind of system. Maybe others have a better idea.
  3. Zhang Lei: I think Kakin won’t acheive world unification, but they will dominate the world economically. Kakin will generate wealth both legally, but also will be a haven for the mafia, especially the Xi-Yu. This wealth will also funnel into the royal family. Carnivale will definitely continue if I have the right read on Zhang Lei. Peoples lives won’t be terrible. There will be glitz and glamour as more money is generated that benefits the average Kakin citizen, but there will be an obvious dark side to Kakin and a chunk of citizens will always suffer.
  4. Tserri: Kakin also achieves world unification. Think of Benjamin’s version, but all the bad stuff dialed to 100. Mafia activity festers, carnivale continues, Kakin goes on a freaking world tour and subjugates the entire world through sheer cruelty. That much power in Tserri’s hands…wow I can’t even image the hellscape the world will become after he wins the greatest succession ritual of all time.
  5. Tubeppa: Kakin dominates the world when it comes to inventions, technology, science, medicine. I do believe she’ll expand the military through new weapons, and combat cabapility and possibly achieve Kakin’s goal of world unification. Kakin will become an intellectual giant that may have more long lasting effect on its future than any other King outside of Benjamin. As opposed to Zhang Lei for example, once he’s gone I do expect the wealth to plummet eventually because the wealth will be generated and influenced in large part through a very powerful guardian spirit beast but knowledge can be preserved and passed down. I think Kakin citizens will lead good lives. I don’t think there will be much sympathy for those who fall behind and can’t keep up with Kakin’s changes.
  6. Tyson: Kakin becomes a cult culture surrounding Tyson. She’ll be loved, the people will be happy but I don’t see Kakin making any major waves on a global scale until the Book spreads outside of Kakin. Kakin will gain more citizens from outside but eventually other countries will ban the book pretty well and the stream of new citizens will fall. I also don’t see Kakin’s people’s lives actually improving materially either. It’ll just be a happy and frankly strange time until she’s eventually gone.
  7. Luzurus: Pretty similar to Zhang Lei but with less wealth and prosperity. He’s a lesser version of Zhang Lei in my opinion. There will be less extremes of good like wealth, but also less extremes of bad (his mafia family doesn’t engage in the same level of crime Zhang Lei’s does).
  8. Halkenburg: Kakin becomes a democracy and he ends the current system. But he wins every election due to his cult following and it becomes a semi dictatorship anyways. Kakin expansionist policies end, and mafia and carnivale are eradicated. Peoples lives get better and it becomes a more normal country with less extremes on either end. There’s a dark side to Halk’s reign as he decides to switch bodies every 20 years or so to someone younger…secretly becoming the defacto Kakin ruler for all time.

It’s been exactly 11 years since I posted this scene on my personal YouTube page. To this day I still get comments on it, most of them Japanese.

Seems like Reddit has really started to throw down the hammer on Reddit mobile alternatives. Now they’ve begun in the last month to disallow even using a browser to read Reddit posts.

Possibly connected to the API key target Ring they’ve done recently on Apollo and other Reddit app alternatives.

Very odd behaviour.

Chrollo's Goals on the Black Whale Explained (I may be wrong)

Let's Start With the Order of Operations

What seems to confuse people the most is the order of Chrollo's priorities, and more importantly, which objectives need to be completed before the next ones become possible.

So let's start with what appears to be Chrollo's current chain of objectives:

  1. Find the person with the rare and powerful ability.
  2. Locate and steal Kakin's National Treasures.
  3. Upgrade Skill Hunter after stealing these National Treasures.
  4. Use the upgraded Skill Hunter to steal the rare ability he previously located.
  5. Kill Hisoka permanently.

The first point is the most important one. Chrollo is not currently trying to steal this person's ability at this point. He is trying to find them.

The Black Whale is becoming increasingly unstable and unpredictable. The individual Chrollo is searching for could be imprisoned, injured, transferred, or killed before he ever gets the opportunity to steal their ability. If that happens, everything Chrollo has been working toward falls apart.

Because of that, locating and securing this person appears to come before everything else.

There is also the issue of movement between tiers. Access to higher tiers is becoming more restricted and may eventually be shut down completely. If Chrollo believes this individual is on Tier 1, then reaching Tier 1 before that window closes becomes critical.

How Long Has Chrollo Been Looking For This Person?

The earliest clue we have comes from Heaven's Arena.

Chrollo was already using Disgusting Telephone there, which means he has been searching for this person since at least that point in the story.

That gives us several important conclusions.

  1. First, Hisoka is not the person Chrollo was searching for through Disgusting Telephone. Hisoka was literally present during the Heaven's Arena events when Chrollo was already conducting this search.
  2. This strongly suggests that Hisoka was never Chrollo's highest priority. The person with the rare ability and the future acquisition of the National Treasures were already on Chrollo's agenda before the fight ever happened.
  3. In fact, an even more likely possibility is that Chrollo had been casually searching for this individual long before fighting Hisoka. The entire reason he agreed (or lured) Hisoka to fighting at Heaven's Arena was to be able to use his ability in such a large crowd and hopefully find this person he’s been looking for. Heaven's Arena simply provided the perfect environment for him to use his search ability because of the massive crowds gathered there. In that interpretation, the fight with Hisoka was not the centerpiece of Chrollo's plans. It was simply one objective among many that he expected to complete along the way.

Stealing the National Treasures will lead him to be able to upgrade Skill Hunter. Upgrading Skill Hunter will allow him to steal this person’s rare ability. This rare ability is what will allow him to kill Hisoka for good. But again, this isn’t the major priority. Hisoka dying permanently is an added bonus.

The whole purpose of this mission is what happens after he finally checks off this nuisance of Hisoka.

Stealing this rare ability is what will allow him to ensure the Spiders survival. This is what his major underlying objective was. This is what he’s been working towards, and was his goal before Hisoka’s death, during his revival and after Hisoka’s future permanent death.

Everything else revolves around that goal of the Spiders surviving, whether Chrollo lives or dies.

A Small Question From Chapter 104 (Dec. 2000) Was Finally Answered in Chapter 405 (Nov. 2024): Who Were Troupe Members #6 and #9?

Pakunoda was #9, and that was officially confirmed after Chapter 405 through Bonolenov’s monologue.

The implication of Bono’s words is that Chrollo was affected far more deeply by the deaths of Troupe members than he’s willing to admit. When it comes to Pakunoda in particular, he still hasn’t replaced her #9 position after her death. Bonolenov gives a cryptic “I know why you did it,” without elaborating, but the implication seems fairly obvious.

Paku and Chrollo appeared to share a special connection, and I’ve always felt there were hints of romantic feelings in the way they thought about each other.

In Volume 38, there’s an extra page where Pakunoda, as a child, muses about the conditions for her future Nen ability. One condition she considers is never touching the person she cherishes most. Interestingly, because the pages are slightly transparent, Chrollo is centered directly behind that internal monologue.

Before Chapter 405, we already knew that Kalluto and Illumi had taken the #4 (Hisoka) and #11 (Uvogin) positions and that Shalnark and Kortopi died too soon for their numbers to be reassigned before the voyage on the Black Whale.

However, Pakunoda’s (and Shalnark’s) numbers had never been officially revealed. At the time, she and Shalnark were generally believed to be either #6 or #9, while Shizuku was confirmed to be #8.

What’s interesting is that the 2011 anime actually depicted Pakunoda as #9 and Shalnark as #6 long before the manga officially confirmed it. During the scene explaining the line “the chrysanthemum withers and falls” from their fortunes, Shalnark is shown as #6, Shizuku as #8, and Pakunoda as #9.

That guess ultimately turned out to be correct.

Either Togashi had already decided that Pakunoda was #9 and informed the anime staff while they made the episode, or he later adopted the anime’s guess/interpretation for continuity.

TL;DR: Pakunoda was #9, Shalnark was #6, and Chapter 405 finally settled the (probably very small) debate.

What would a modern One Piece anime adaption struggle to best compared to the Toei adaption?

Or would a modern adaption have very little trouble being considered the gold standard anime adaption of OP by fan consensus?

My dad’s on a trip and asked for me to get his car back home from the shop. I haven’t driven in 7+ years.

Is it safe for me drive it back. Considering it just came back from the shop, I’m terrified to drive it home.

I don’t think driving my dad’s car that he just got fixed is the best time to figure out if I can still drive or not.

Was I a good driver? Not really. Wasn’t confident or enjoyed it but I was okay. But this was 7 years ago. I also failed my road test 4 times before passing on my 5th try. u/

Will I be so rusty I’ll crash it and have another thing my dad has to deal with when he gets home?

I got it under both armpits. Used once as my first ever Old Spice before going outside one Summer day and went I got home I noticed the discolouration, raised bumps, burning and itching. Never used Old Spice again.

At first the affected area was smaller but gradually ended up spreading to most of my armpits over time.

I did go to the doctor and got a steroid cream I believe which actually seemed to work, but as soon as the 2 weeks where I was supposed to stop using the medication, it came back eventually.

I still deal with the discolouration, my armpit hairs definitely don’t grow as much as they used to as most of the areas covered by the burns aren’t able to grow hair anymore apparently.

I still deal with occasional intense itchiness in my armpits which I scratch for relief. Other than that, my life is normal. I plan to go back to the doctor soon to eventually really get a name of what I suffered actually is. Whether it’s an allergic reaction, burn, fungal infection etc.
