I fucking love this commercial so much dude. My family too, we all got a peepy one christmas because of this advert. The fact that doug doesn't just not love it but HATES IT is unforgivable. Maybe if it was in Japanese, doug would do an immediate 180 (because that's apparently his criteria for a good commercial).
I petition Peepy to be a new mascot of r/wehatedougdoug. May we grant him a presidential pardon for his warcrimes and welcome him in with open arms!
I've made a level inspired by one of my favorite dungeons in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's a puzzle level that revolves around carrying Princess Ruto (a pow) to access new areas and get items.
It's not a particularly hard level, both in platforming difficulty and puzzle complexity. However, I tried to make it relatively faithful to the actual dungeon. This is also the second version of the level, as I tried to polish out some areas people were dying unfairly too, as well as potential cheese spots.
If you like levels based around puzzle solving with great themeing, then I HIGHLY encourage you to check it out. This sucker took me many hours to make, so I do appreciate any and all support you could give.
I'm really bummed about this. I made a genuine effort to keep it going. Hell, at one point I had to go somewhere in which I didn't have access to my phone, so I genuinely asked my family to log in every day and keep it going for me.
I know this ad is far from the worse. It has an actual production effort, it isn't particularly nsfw... hell, it's not even scammy or misleading. But ever since I've seen one 7~ years ago, it's always stuck in the back of my mind. GOD is she fucking annoying.
Something... something... honey and vinegar...

I remember the sheikah stone vision gimik in the 3Ds version, which were essentially a ton of hint movies. Problem is that they're poorly documented, and I cant find uploads of these cutscenes anywhere. Does anyone know where to find these?

This got me so ticked off that I wasted an hour to done draw a meme. I was scrolling through a romhack website when I found this gentleman. My guy REALLY hates censorship... that's why you wanna get rid of the "censor fins" on a goddamn child.
Like, I understand nothing is sacred in this day and age, but Ruto has always been a special character to me (to a literal autistic level, I'm on the spectrum). She was one of my first video game crushes, and I always view her as a reminder of a more innocent time for me.
Of course, innocence doesn't exist on the internet, and I gotta live with that. But when I see someone ask to see her *as a minor* nude for sexual pleasure ""free speech"" reasons, it irritates me on a downright spiritual level.
That is all. Feel free to use any of the stuff I drew, it would make my day.
Honestly, I do agree with the fact that the Water temple receives too much hate. Obviously the boot switching is annoying as fuck, but even Nintendo realized that and fixed it in the 3ds remake. And yes this dungeon has quite a few annoying keys (the one under the floating block has always been the meme, but I personally had the most trouble returning to the room where you originally meet ruto at medium water level to bomb the wall).
At the same time, it's challenge makes this dungeon iconic and the (mini)bosses are cool. NOBODY hates dark link, and while Morpha is rather hit or miss, it's at least an interesting concept with impressive graphical capabilities for the Nintendo 64. The water temple is nowhere near "good", but the sheer amount of hate it receives is honestly slightly unwarranted.
However, when you hear people defend the water temple, the biggest counterpoint I hear is that Jabu Jabu's belly is significantly worse. But here's where my true hot take starts: Not only is Jabu Jabu not a bad dungeon, its arguably one of my favorites in the game.
There are three main criticisms the dungeon gets. The hardest to dispute is its themeing. Is a dungeon inside the intestines of a fish gross? Absolutely. However, it is also by far one of the most unique dungeon ideas in the entire series. I'd much rather experience something like Jabu Jabu then the 200th "lava cave" dungeon.
Then, there are the tentacle minibosses. Is it annoying that you have to fight essentially the same boss three times in a row? Slightly. At the same time, these fights last less than a couple minutes a piece at most. At least the first time, it feels more like a puzzle than a miniboss. And besides, the true miniboss of the dungeon (Big Octo) is a challenging yet fun battle.
But by far the biggest criticism the dungeon gets and the one I understand the least is Princess Ruto. Is she a brat? Absolutely, I won't deny that. But as an escort mechanic, she is fun as hell. She is basically invincible so long as you don't let her drown in water, meaning you don't really have to "defend her". Hell, she actually makes a solid weapon to throw at enemies. If you constantly set her down to attack whatevers ahead then obviously she'll feel more like a burden than an asset. But she can one-shot almost every enemy in the dungeon, plus she has a couple of solid puzzles involving her. If you can get past her somewhat annoying dialog, she ultimately adds to the dungeon instead of subtracts to it.
And besides that, this dungeon is a blast. The boomerang is a fun dungeon weapon with decent puzzles around it. The enemies are challenging but fun to counter with Ruto and the boomerang. Even the biggest detractors of the dungeon can admit Barinade is a great boss. Big octo is fun, the puzzles are fun, Ruto *can* be fun, the themeing is novel, why do people hate this dungeon again?
Personally, I'd argue that something like Dodongos Cavern or the Fire temple deserves the spot for the worst dungeon, mainly because neither are particularly inspired. But that's just me, what are your thoughts? The only invalid opinions are the ones that conflict with my own (which is of course a joke).
