Guys Please help what should i prefer SM here or Decent Bangalore College CSE ( read body )

Why am i considering SM even though i can get CSE :

SM fee is far less than Blr college ( 18+ Lakhs )
I can try for branch change ( ik its heavily luck based )
If Branch change doesnt work out , I will start preparing for GATE Mechanical

What do you all say ?

Edit: Thanks for the insights y'all , based on the reviews i've decided to remove SM from CSAB Pref list

Production Engineering to GATE ME?

I'm planning to take Production Engineering, but I want to prepare for GATE Mechanical.

How difficult is it to prepare for GATE ME from a Production background? Which subjects would I have to study on my own, and is the extra workload manageable alongside college? Also, would this put me at a disadvantage for PSU recruitments compared to someone with a Mechanical degree?

Would love to hear from anyone who has taken this path.
