Hello everyone. Today I want to share the story idea for my own comic.
I wrote this as a personal story concept, and if anyone is interested in turning it into a comic, feel free to do so. It is completely optional — I am mainly sharing my story because I want people to see and give feedback on the idea.
If someone wants to create their own version, add their own ideas, or change some parts while keeping the main concept, that is also okay.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading it. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about the story.(In 1998, in the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas, two adult friends, John Miles and Norman Cross, live together and struggle to survive. Norman is unemployed and feels guilty because John has to carry all the responsibility. John works a difficult, low-paying job every day, coming home exhausted and barely having enough money to support them both. Norman watches his best friend suffer and begins to believe that he needs to do something to change their lives.
One day, Norman receives an offer from a mysterious criminal organization. Desperate and wanting to help John, he accepts the job. At first, he believes it will only be temporary and that he is doing it for a good reason. His first mission changes him forever. He secretly enters a house to complete his task, but the experience leaves him broken. When he returns home, he sees the news reporting about the incident. He quickly turns off the television, hides what happened, hides his new identity, and tries to sleep.
The money he receives gives him hope. For the first time, he feels like he can provide a better life for John. The organization notices his success and gives him a strange skull mask, a symbol of his new identity. Norman begins working for them more often, and his normal life slowly disappears.
By 1999, Norman has become a mysterious figure in Las Vegas. The police begin investigating a series of strange crimes, and people start calling him "The Night Hunter." At first, Norman struggles with what he does. He remembers the person he used to be, but over time the guilt becomes weaker. The man who once felt fear and regret slowly becomes colder.
One night, during another mission, everything changes. Norman enters a house wearing his skull mask, but the owner is prepared and attacks him. After a long struggle, Norman escapes, but the event affects him deeply. He returns home and begins questioning what he has become. John notices that something is wrong and asks if he is okay, but Norman hides the truth and says he only needs some fresh air.
That night, Norman walks through the neon streets of Las Vegas with a cigarette in his hand. He enters a bar, drinks, and tries to forget everything. But the next day, he returns to the same life again. As time passes, he becomes more ruthless and the legend of the Night Hunter grows. The police continue searching, but Norman becomes smarter and harder to find.
John is happy that their financial problems are finally disappearing, but he begins to wonder where Norman's money is coming from. Norman tells him that he found a job, but John feels that something is wrong.
After the skull mask becomes connected to the crimes, Norman stops wearing it and changes his clothes and appearance to avoid being recognized. He continues his missions, but John becomes more suspicious every day.
One night, John leaves work earlier than usual. When he returns home, Norman is gone because he is carrying out another mission. Later that night, Norman returns and opens the door, only to find John waiting for him with the skull mask in his hands.
John finally knows the truth.
The two friends argue, and years of hidden emotions come out. Norman finally breaks down and explains why he did everything. He says that he did not do it only for himself. He did it because he could not stand watching John destroy himself every day. He wanted them to escape poverty and live a better life.
But John tells him that this was never the answer. The money may have solved their problems, but Norman lost himself along the way.
After the confrontation, Norman leaves the house and climbs onto a rooftop above Las Vegas. The city shines below them with endless neon lights. Norman looks at the skull mask in his hands, realizing what it has turned him into. John follows him, and the two friends talk about their past, their mistakes, and everything they lost.
When they finally leave and try to return home, police officers notice them. Seeing the skull mask, the police connect Norman to the crimes they have been investigating. A chase begins.
During the chaos, John is accidentally shot and dies. Norman is left completely broken. Filled with anger and grief, he hides and waits for the police who are searching for him. After escaping, he returns to the people who gave him these missions.
Norman decides to end everything. He turns against the organization that destroyed his life and cuts his connection with the criminal world forever.
After everything is over, Norman walks alone into a narrow alley. Under the neon lights of Las Vegas, he takes off the skull mask for the final time. He looks at it, remembering everything it represents: his mistakes, his past, and the friend he lost.
He leaves the mask behind and walks away.
The legend of the Night Hunter disappears, but Norman Cross remains — a man who must carry the weight of every choice he made.

Hi everyone, I created my own Hotline Miami character, his name is Corvus. According to my made-up scenario, he's a Russian mobster from a crew called Sonda who attacks with a screwdriver. I deliberately chose a budgie mask because they are usually innocent animals, so I wanted to contrast that with his wild nature. I even mocked up this menu screen to show how he looks in-game. What do you think of it?
We are currently working on the concept of a dark psychological horror game and we are looking for people who would like to join the project as a hobby/indie team. The game takes place inside a massive high-security prison/complex located in the Chihuahuan Desert in the United States. All institutions, characters, and events in the game are completely fictional and are not intended to represent, target, or glorify any real-life individuals, groups, organizations, or events. The story follows John, a former Vietnam War soldier suffering from trauma, constant guilt, regret, alcoholism, and psychological collapse. Throughout the game, John is continuously haunted by his past and the things he has done while being influenced by an inner voice/entity called “VOID”, slowly becoming more aggressive, unstable, uncontrollable, and mentally fragmented. The project aims to create a tense, disturbing, aggressive, and psychologically unsettling horror experience focused on atmosphere, emotional pressure, and narrative. The game will include story-driven progression, cinematic scenes, flashbacks, psychological tension, atmospheric visuals, and fully voiced character scenes. Inspirations include Hotline Miami and Manhunt. The project is still in a very early stage and is planned to be developed using GameMaker. We are currently looking for programmers, level/environment designers, character & visual artists, and writers/narrative designers who would like to help build this project together.

Hi everyone, I want to make a 2D horror game using gamemaker similar to Manhunt and hotline miami, but I want the violence and gore to be terrifying, not cool. I want it to be psychologically disturbing, with intense psychological horror. I've written all the characters, events, and story myself; I'm the screenwriter. However, I don't do coding, spirit work, or 2D graphics. I'm only the one who created the entire story, events, and scenario of the game; I don't know coding. But if you guys can do spirit work, coding, map design, sound, etc., you can contact us via DM. It would be great if we could make the game together as a hobby. We'll accept people who want to make this game as a hobby; it will be free, not paid. Okay, it sounds pretty bad, but we're going to make this game as a hobby, so we'll only accept people who enjoy coding and drawing as hobbies. In short, that's it. Also, do you think the dialogues in our game should be dubbed? I think they should. See you later, friends, join us!
Hey everyone,
I’m currently developing a 2D psychological horror game in GameMaker called The Immortality of Fate.
This is a passion/hobby project focused on atmosphere, tension and psychological horror, not just action or jumpscares.
The game is built around something I call “controlled chaos”.
You play as John, trapped in a facility where nothing feels fully safe or predictable.
Enemies behave in different disturbing ways:
But everything is carefully designed — it only feels chaotic.
The goal is not to make violence fun, but to make it uncomfortable and meaningful.
No experience required — passion is enough.
Thanks for reading.
Hey,
I’m working on a 2D psychological horror game called "The Immortality of Fate".
Inspired by games like Manhunt, Hotline Miami and Outlast — but this is NOT just about violence.
The game is disturbing, brutal at times, but everything is built around one thing:
guilt.
You don’t play a hero.
You play someone who deserves to be here.
The main character, John, is not innocent. The facility he’s trapped in reflects his past, his actions, and his punishment. The violence is not glorified — it’s uncomfortable, and meant to feel wrong.
Current progress:
- Story and concept are mostly done
- Dark atmosphere and world design planned
- Early development in GameMaker
I’m looking for people who want to build something dark, heavy, and meaningful:
- Pixel artist (dark / gritty style)
- Programmer (GameMaker preferred)
- Sound designer (atmospheric / horror)
Important:
This is an unpaid project for now, but I’m serious about making something unique.
If you're interested, DM me.
Let’s create something disturbing — not for shock, but for impact.
Hey,
I’ve been working on a small 2D psychological horror game in GameMaker called "The Immortality of Fate". I’m handling the writing / story direction side of the project.
This is not a serious studio project or anything high-pressure — it’s more of a hobby / passion project where a small group of people can build something dark, atmospheric, and creative together.
The tone of the game is intentionally very dark and oppressive, inspired by games like Manhunt, Hotline Miami and Outlast. However, the focus is not just violence — it’s more about psychological horror, guilt, and consequences.
The atmosphere is meant to feel heavy, uncomfortable, and constantly tense — like you’re stuck in something you shouldn’t be part of.
You don’t play a hero.
You play someone facing what they’ve done.
Right now I’m building core systems in GameMaker and developing the narrative structure and world design. It’s still very early, more like a foundation stage.
I’m looking for people who want to casually contribute in their free time:
No deadlines, no pressure — just a small chill team trying to build something interesting together.
If it sounds fun, feel free to DM me.
Also, would voice acting / narration be something you’d be interested in for this kind of project?
We are currently developing a 2D indie psychological horror game inspired by Hotline Miami and Manhunt.
The game follows a character named John, who slowly begins to lose his grip on reality after disturbing events. The story focuses on psychological themes such as paranoia, guilt, hallucinations, and intense mental pressure.
Gameplay changes depending on the situation. Some sections are stealth-based, where players must observe enemies, stay hidden, and strike at the right moment. Other sections are more direct and action-focused with faster encounters. The goal is to create a constant sense of tension and uncertainty.
The core concept, story direction, and gameplay structure are already defined, but the project is still in early development.
We are currently looking for a programmer as the main priority. Later on, we may also need a 2D pixel artist and sound designer.
This is a hobby indie project, but with a very clear vision.
We are also unsure whether the game should include full voice acting or remain text-based. Feedback is welcome.
If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to DM me.
