Quick Steely Dan related story (look in body text)

For context, I am 14 years old going into freshman year of high school and I am currently at band camp on Monday, I met a girl named daja who is a year older than me. Today I was talking to her telling her that the way I remembered her name was by thinking of the Steely Dan album Aja she then proceeded to call me weird and told me no one knows what a Steely Dan is.
