What would you call space-faring countries? Still countries or something else?

I want to worldbuild some interplanetary civilizations for a space setting. Would the term "country" still be used to describe the galactic and political territory of a government, or is there a better word to call it? I don't know why but "country" doesn't sound right when talking about a government that covers more than one planet, but if there's no better term then I don't mind.

Islamic and Jewish Trench Pilgrims. Could they work in the base game?

Pilgrims are a thing in a lot of religions besides Christianity. Could the appearance of Islamic and Jewish-based Trench Pilgrims work in the base game? Would you want to see such a thing, and if so, what would they look like? The current Trench Pilgrim lore is very much geared towards a Christian lens, so I'd imagine Processions based around Islam and Judaism would more than likely require alternative lore and game mechanics to be worth including. Would love to hear any ideas people may have!

Why do you think bodies of the Faithful were being taken to Hell?

Paladin Gérin saw something in Dis that was so terrible it spurred the creation of the Domus Demetrius and a big push to recover as many fallen bodies of the Faithful possible. We may never truly know why Hell wanted these bodies, but what are some cool theories/headcanons people came up with to explain why?

An idea I had was that just like Heretic Trench Ghosts, soldiers of the Faithful can also become undead spirits, forced to haunt the grounds they died on as their unburied bodies act as "anchors" to the material realm. Legion warbands were instructed to collect these bodies so that they can be brought to Hell, bringing the restless spirits there too. Once in Hell the spirit is then treated like all the other damned souls who end up in Inferno; tortured eternally to fuel the Goetic magic of the archdevils so that they may one day launch another invasion into Heaven.

Along with denying the righteous peace, it also gave Hell an additional way to cultivate more power. It's why the Domus Demetrius has a big focus of not just housing and relocating the dead but also purifying them too so that they can continue up to Heaven and be unusable by Hell. It's why this mission was never recorded for public viewing. Imagine how you'd feel that even if you fought for the name of the Almighty and did no wrong your whole life, you could still wind up in Hell and tortured for all eternity. Imagine the chaos that would cause!

Would love to hear other ideas. This little tidbit from the Domus Demetrius lore is one of those things that work best if left unexplored in canon. Leaves the door open for some cool fan interpretations.

If we got lore on Elizabeth Báthory, what would like to see from it?

Báthory was a Hungarian noblewoman from the 16th-century who was an alleged serial killer, convicted for the torturing and murdering of hundreds of women and girls. She was imprisoned in the Castle of Csejte and died in her sleep in 1614. Stories about her would become part of national folklore, describing how she'd bath in the blood of the virgins she supposedly killed to retain her youth.

I think it'd be awesome if the stories of Báthory were real in Trench Crusade and used in some capacity for when the Vampire Hussars get expanded upon. I believe she'd still be in power by the time hussars would exist in Hungary. Maybe Vlad leads them as rebels against Báthory's rule, which was greater than in our own timeline thanks to her making a pact with an archdevil. Báthory could rule her own Heretic Domain, possessing immortality by bathing and ingesting the blood of virgins. Vlad and his hussars would get their vampiric powers by capturing and feeding upon the heretics who serve Báthory, which also share a fraction of her powers.

Would love to hear other ideas. I only have a cursory knowledge on Báthory's life and Hungarian hussars, so I'd love to hear other possibilities by those who know more about each!

What would you want to see lore-wise regarding the Heretic invasion of Alba?

We'll likely see this little blurb on the timeline expanded upon in a lore post one day. What would be cool to see included in it?

What I hope above all else is that they make this event differ from the Invasion of Eire in some way, because they already share a lot of similarities. A European island nation gets invaded from the sea by Hell, forcing the people to fight a brutal guerilla war on their own lands, ruining their population in the process.

I'd like it if the finer details were different in some way to warrant this event existing at all in the timeline. Maybe Alba's invasion was sloppier compared to the Eire one, with Zacchur improving upon whatever strategy Amminadab came up with. That's just one possibility though. Would love to hear others!

Like the Eire lore, it'd also be cool seeing legendary figures from Scotland's history make an appearance and have an impact on the setting. I don't really know much about Scottish history or folklore, so I can't give any ideas on that front. To those who do, feel free to suggest some ideas below!

Would a Trench Crusade-themed airsoft game be cool?

I've personally never played airsoft, but I've recently became interested in it after watching videos by Silo Entertainment and Swamp Sniper. Would an airsoft event themed around Trench Crusade be a good idea? To those that play airsoft, would you want to be in a game like that? What would a Trench Crusade airsoft event even look like?

Perhaps the game would be split into two broad teams, that being Faithful and Heretic. The goal would be to find relics hidden throughout the game field, which are worth points for your team. Taking out enemy players would also be worth points, with the number of players taken out on the enemy team tallied up.

Can see a lot of fun in something like this. Players can form warbands based on the in-game faction they all dressed up as. Actors playing Grail Thralls and Court units could roam around during the game, rewarding players a lot of points if taken out. Would love to hear more ideas from those more knowledgeable on the sport!

Human Heretics seem to alter their bodies with animal parts

In the internal reference art commissioned by Qsy, it would seem that it's possible for Heretic Legionnaires to possess traits seen in other animals. The Italian Swordbreaker has a clubbed tail and hoof-like feet, while the Russian Firebug has horns (could be part of his helmet though). This presents interesting questions I look forward be explored in future lore posts. How do heretic humans get these features and why? Can any heretic soldier get these parts, or only specific ones like Anointed?

The most obvious reason heretics may have animal parts could be logistical. Unlike Path of the Beast cultists, heretics who serve a devil may get these augments to "improve" their human bodies to be deadlier on the battlefield. Another could be cultural. Some heretics may look the way they do to appease their patron devil, likely as a sign of devotion. Maybe some devils enforce these changes on their followers, or gift them to their most powerful and loyal to be better servants.

How a heretic can get these features can also vary. Goetic rituals that graft animal parts onto them as well as genetically engineered heretics made from splicing human and animal DNA. It could even be possible some humans in the Heretic Domains naturally have these traits, likely stemming from their ancestors courting with half-breeds like Praetors and Yoke Fiends. Pureblooded devils likely never had such offspring, since that would technically make them Nephilim, and warrant divine intervention.

Minecraft-like music that pairs well with these images

I was thinking it'd be fun to try and make a resource pack for Minecraft that adds a lot of new music into the game. Stuff that builds off the original C418 tracks and even the new stuff added in recent updates. Looking for calming music that you could imagine would play when you're just doing normal stuff in game. Stuff that's calm, dreamlike, and even liminal.

Is there a texture pack that makes new Minecraft mobs look old?

Saw this video by ImNotaCasualty where they made modern mobs like the goat look like they came out during Minecraft old days. Is there a public texture pack that does this? Been playing with Golden Days but that pack doesn't change mobs past 1.13. Would be cool if there was a texture pack that applied the same design philosophy of Alpha and Beta Minecraft with the modern mobs.

What's your stance on using gun mods with horror mods?

Horror mods exceed when they take away the power of the player. If there's anything that doesn't do that, it's a gun mod. They all have the similar quality of being really overpowered against even modded mobs. It becomes less like surviving against them and more like hunting them down as mild nuisances.

On the other hand, I also find the idea of using guns to fight the mobs those mods add to be quite thrilling on occasion. It gives underdog vibes taking on inconceivable horrors with a very conceivable weapon. It's probably why the Seal Team 6 vs. Horror trend on YouTube even came to be in the first place. Who cares about immersion when you can shoot Herobrine in the face with a glock?

What are your thoughts on this? Do you avoid gun mods when playing Horror Minecraft? How do you use guns when playing Horror Minecraft if you do?

The Backwoods is an underrated mod I wanted to share!

Backwoods is based off of The Woodlands YouTube series by Studio Allka. It adds a world made entirely out of oak wood and oak planks. The same mobs seen in The Woodlands are also present, called Splinters in the mod.

What sets the mod apart from the series is the fact that multiple dimensions are present and interconnect with each other, all with different designs centered around wood. You can get to these dimensions by letting one of the mobs teleport you to them, find certain structures, or travel a certain direction.

The mod is still early in development, but it already has an impressive amount of content. There are new items, a sanity system, advancements, and many different types of mobs beyond the ones seen from the Allka series. I think it has a lot of potential to become a great liminal space/horror mod, and I'd love to know what others who played it think of the mod.

Nostalgia (Liminal Spaces) is an underrated mod I wanted to share!

Basically, it's a liminal space mod that adds weird dimensions that can be entered via touching glitched blocks in the Overworld. The dimensions are called Nullspaces, and there are currently five of them. These are some screenshots I managed to take when exploring each!

As many may notice, this mod looks very similar aesthetically to mods like wonderland.jar and untitled.log. Unlike those mods (which are cool in their own right), Nostalgia isn't really about the horror. There are definitely scary things in the mod, but the real goal of the mod is to provide really high-quality dimensions that evoke a sense of nostalgia for old Minecraft while exploring, and trigger memories one may have when they first started playing.

The developers plan to add six new Nullspaces along with new blocks, items, and mobs! They have a Discord server that can be joined on their CurseForge modpage. Would love it if more people knew about this mod and check it out. Maybe a small YouTuber could give it a play when it becomes more fleshed out.

By the way, we seriously need a showcase flair or something similar, so more people feel inclined to share mods or resource packs that deserve more exposure in this community.

What lore would you like to see to expand upon gluttony for the Court of the Seven-Headed Serpent?

Ever since we got more context surrounding Leviathan and the Drowned Choristers, it made me think once again about the eventual subfaction for the Court of the Seven-Headed Serpent that'd be based around gluttony, or at the very least, lore we might get that expands upon the Seat of Hunger and those connected to it.

If Moloch and Leviathan can both embody envy in two different but interesting ways, how would you like to see gluttony for the Court expanded on lore-wise that doesn't get overshadowed by Beelzebub and the Black Grail?

The little we do know about gluttony for the Court is that the seat dedicated to it is vacant and constantly fought for by lesser fallen angels. Who do you think are these demons? Beelzebub is so readily considered the Sin of Gluttony in media that it's kind of hard to imagine other beings vying for that role too. Would love to learn more about them and why they're embodiments of gluttony too.

What about the mortals that follow the gluttony branch of the Court? Why do they serve the Throne of Hunger when the Cult of the Black Grail is right there? What's the mindset like for Heretics and half-demons (Praetors, Sorcerers, Yoke Fiends, etc.) that serve gluttony in that context? Personally, I'd like it if the Seat of Gluttony revolved around excess on literally everything, and not just food. It's a catchall sin for overindulging on anything and ruining the lives of others just to amass more on what you're addicted to. That's why there's armies for that seat at all. While the Black Grail is all about homogenizing all life through infection, those that serve the Court or Heretic Legions as gluttony-sinners are promised the selfish desire to have more of whatever they crave.

And what would you want the plot to be? For me, The Broken Script is top of mind. It already has a well thought out story that could easily be translated into a movie. Either it could tell the story of the original players that fell to Integrity, or it could be about new players uncovering the mysteries of what happened to them. I could see it being made like a found-footage film, more specifically a screen-life (think Unfriended). Everyone would be playing Minecraft and communicating through Discord, all the while the entities slowly pick them off one by one in real life.

On the flip side, I could see a movie taking place within the Minecraft universe itself. Some mods like the Cave Dweller and The One Who Watches would also make for fun creature-features. Ancient Builders or other humanoid NPCs would be forced to face them as they get slowly hunted down. Maybe the film could be animated in a similar style to Marcus Yu's videos on YouTube, with a hyper-realistic style to really push home the fear factor.

Ducats are the primary currency used by both the Faithful and Hell's mortals. It's also the currency used to buy units and items when making a warband. Despite not having a lot of lore dedicated to them specifically, I'd still like to talk about them. The economics of a world aren't usually the first things people are excited about hearing about, but it is often where the richest and deeply thought-out lore is hidden.

So yeah, let's talk about them! What'd be one Trench Crusade ducat worth in modern currency? Is the cost for units and items in the actual game mechanics accurate to how much they'd be in the lore? How much would normal things cost, like food and clothing?

Economists who are well knowledgeable on the real-life ducats and the economic landscape of WW1 are more than welcomed to chime in!

A weapon in common use by Islamic forces during the Crusader (1099-1187), Ayyubid (1187-1250) and Mamluk (1260-1516) periods. It is made of unglazed ceramic and embossed with grooves and tear drop-shaped designs.
