Hi, I'm new heh

I started using genie to look at my pokemon but I've learned i can host raids with it. Im excited to start as small town pokemon is rough, but even after watching a couple videos on it I'm still nervous to do it wrong and not be able to host again.

Does anyone have a good guide or some eli5 instructions to get me past this fear and on the road to hosting?

Will people hate me if I totally blunder it the first time or two?

Pokemon Go

If you play Pokémon Go you know the community event is coming up, but do you know where to be? Looking forward to finding other players in the city to raid with! We (myself and husband) will be in the city on either the 11th or 12th for the day to do as many raids as we can, depending on if we can find the crowds.

I don't use fb so I won't be joining any pages there.

Maytag washer not filling

I was doing laundry when the town shut off the water. The initial fill had already happened but it was off when the rinse tried to start. Since then the cold will not work. I can start it on warm/hot and it will fill but it won't do the rinse or the original fill with cold.

Water going to the washer is fine, hose is not plugged. On a different sub it was suggested to unplug it for a while to reset but in another local incident the power went out for about 3 hours and that didn't fix it either. Joys of small town life.

I've posted pics of what may be relevant but I don't know what I'm looking at. Please help :(

Washer issue help!

Hello! I need help with my washer...

My town shut off the water the other day when I was in middle of laundry. The fill/wash cycle had already started but water was off when it hit rinse so it stopped. When the water came back on I tried to finish the load but it wouldn't run.

I tried restarting the whole load on cold and it won't run the water. I tried it on hot and it ran fine but shut down again on rinse. Ive tried starting it on different cycles, unplugging/replugging, turning off the water supply and turning it back on again. We even shut off the whole house, ran it dry and started it up again. Everything else in the house runs fine but not the washer.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Just a psa for anyone who has or wants to buy the two pack house plants available at Costco right now:

I got 4 plants in the last week and they have spider mites -_-

Webbing found on rubber tree, pepperomia and fiddle leaf fig. Ill just assume they are also on the monstera at this point.

Reminder, always quarantine new plants.

I think it may be time to take the dive and excel my tank and would like some support or not for this idea.

The history. I got this tank in October from a friend. It had 2 danis, 3 assassin snails, and a ton of pest snails. And algae. All the algae. We kept about half the water that it had and topped it from there with settled tap water. Our water is fairly hard but I sent samples to my fish guy and he said it was good but needed slight adjustment. We made some changes and all following tests showed great results.

We added a single Otto as it was the only one available, a handful of amano shrimp, and one cherry that ended up in the bag randomly. Their job was to fight the algae. We sourced 4 more ottos when they became available. We added some plants, both bottom of tank plants and floaters. Things were good for a few weeks.

Then in a week we lost 4 ottos, but not all of the new ones. One of them was the only survivor. The floater plant died a fast brutal death around the same time. All of the bottom plants did fine except one. Its suffering hard but still putting out new growth. I don't know what it's called but it's the puffy green one.

Through all of this is the battle against the algae, both green and black. It grows faster than I can keep up with. Ive used a toothbrush to pull it out of the plants, I've scraped it off the sides of the tank as far down as I can go. Ive employed algae eaters and reduced the lights. Ive done many water changes, 2 of which were massive changes. Like, down to a couple inches of water.

It just keeps coming back! More than the last round. I have a bottle of flourish excel and I think it's time. Am I overreacting or is it time?

Why i haven't done it yet. Well, I'm not sure how big this tank is. I can do the math on that but for dosing, do I measure by the full size of the tank, or do I exclude the amount of space the substrate takes up?

If I can't get this under control I don't want to add more fish but I really want more fish heh.

I look forward to any questions, suggestions and criticism.
