The War-Marshals look great with first company trim

The War-Marshals look great with first company trim

These veterans are designed for 3rd edition, if anyone can help explain to me how 3rd edition vets work would be great.
In their profile it says they can either use boltguns or boltpistols & close combat weapons. Does that mean they can only take pistols & knives or can they trade them out for lightning claws. Chsinswords, etc?

Some Devastators for the War-Marshals!

Tell me what you think about the purple helmets for the Devastators. I always liked how the Blood Angels had blue/yellow for their assault marines/devastators, so I went with purple.
What colour should the assault marines have? Green, yellow, maybe? Give me your ideas

The Hound- a totally original character, revived

I’ve been getting back into comics since recently picking up Absolute Batman, and it brought back a lot old memories where me and my friend at the time would come up with characters together. I’ve not attempted to draw anything in almost 10-12 years so I’m aware I have a lot of catching up to do, but I’ve been enjoying it as a break from my usual sculpting and warhammer painting.
I remember once I even used some of my brothers Warhammer paints to paint an action figure of the 2004 Batman animated series into “The Hound”/ Dogman.

I promise you I do have more original ideas now haha.

Here’s some backstory based on what I can half remember writing back in the day, if you’re interested.

Name: Edward Montgomery-Wolfgang
Location: London (rename)
Age: 30’s
Height: 6’3
Weight:
Origins: Edward was the adopted son of William Montgomery-Wolfgang. Some say, the nuns that originally found him, found him as a babe suckling from a dead wolf mother.
Taken in by the Montgomery-Wolfgang family, he grew up, losing most but not all of his feral tendencies. His dad had a large kennel of rescue dogs, and would often take his son out for rides with the pack on fox & rabbit hunts.

At the age of ten his parents were both killed in a car accident, though the surrounding events made things suspicious. The autopsy claimed Williams chauffeur had been drunk, but Edward knew how hard it had been for the chauffeur to quit.
Still, he was too young to do anything, and now with no close family, he was inducted into the care of the family butler.

The Butler was a scheming man, who had spent years getting close to the family, siphoning out “small” amounts of money from the family, and now as Edwards warden, he had even more access to the family fund.

Edward was sent to a bording school in Scotland in various other wealthy troubled children to be quickly forgotten about. Became a master gymnast. Got some early experience in fencing and boxing.

After finishing school, Edward travelled the world as a penniless vagabond, stealing to eat, even committing robberies and other crimes as to understand the mind of a criminal. He went to Brazil to master Brazillian Jui Jistu, Thailand to learn Muay Tai, Russia, China, Japan, learning to fight in ancient monasteries & prison pit fighting rings.
During this time, his two rules were thus; do not kill, and do not allow harm to come to dogs & innocence.

Eventually he returned home, older, grizzled, changed. His old butler had moved in with his family into the old mansion, the pens were empty, all but for one dog that still stalked outside the lands of the mansion. An old hunting foxhound of his father, Arthur
Edward’s first mission was to kick out the old Butler and investigate his parents mysterious deaths…yet the cause still alludes him.

Powers:
Heightened sense of sight, smell and taste
Seems to have an unnatural ability to command dogs and other similar creatures. Even ones taught to be loyal to his enemies.

Tools:
Claws: retractable diamond claws, incredibly sharp, allows him to scale most surfaces and cut through all but the strongest armour.
The Leash: both effective as a wip and as a way to swing from place to place, can be used to disarm knives and guns.
Cowl of the Hound: The Cowl is more than a simple mask. It’s visors contain the ability to see in the dark, in multiple waves of light invisible to the human eye. The ears are designed to pick up radio signals and increase his already supernatural hearing, it can be a weakness if he’s taken off guard. It can also emit a frequency only dogs and other mammals can hear, calling them to him.

He has a wide variety of dog companions useful in various tasks but his constant side kick is the trusty German Shepherd ex police dog, Duke.

I also threw in an idea for Mane, one of his many rogues, a cross between Kraven the Hunter, Bane & a Yautja.

I fixed up an old sculpt I originally wasn’t proud of, it came out pretty neat.

Not if it’s just me but I have loads of sculpts that are about 75% complete that I never finished because it didn’t feel good enough, turned out for this one I just resculpted the mouth and suddenly I liked it again. Do you have many sculpts like that or is this just a me thing?

Realms of Chaos style warrior

New sculpt! Need to finish up some of the Spru design so it casts nice and clearly but really happy with it! I was inspired by an old Heroquest chaos warrior I had on hand and a lot of the awesome stuff I’m seeing coming out of the Turnip28 community.

I recently had a family member call my sculpting a waste of time, and with the internal angsty teenager inside me, it only relit my passion to make more. Fuck those guys. Believe in yourself!
