Public car park outside flat becoming a short stay

Public car park outside my flat is becoming a short stay car park. The entrance to the flat is via the car park

Monday-Saturday 2 hours max no return for 4 between 8-6pm

There are a few smaller car parks up the road but not ideal (2 min walk or so) maybe about 20 spaces between them and my car park has about 50

There’s barely any parking on the road (about 10 spaces)

Council have said nothing about a permit. Although I’ve complained an many residents around the car park have too (they also rely on this car park to park as it’s closest and has the most space)

I’m now worried tha the value of my flat will tank. A bit selling point for me was having that car park right outside…

Would this put you off buying this place with what I’ve just said?

Honestly, we’re all really pissed off by this. Parking will now become a nightmare

Terrible battery or am I stupid?

Posted 10 days ago on how my bike, when switched on has no lights at all. Wouldn’t start or anything

Got back yesterday and chucked the multimeter on. 5v seems abnormally low? Both pins are on the metal clasps. Right location?

I’ve got someone on the way who knows a lot more just to take a look but just wanted to post here to as people were a great help last time.

Trying to learn myself instead of calling up a garage and paying a fortune dor something that is hopefully an inexpensive fix

Edit: Thanks everyone for your help. Charged the battery up to around 14 volts and 4 amps and once taken off, it dropped right down again and bike didn't start.

Got a new battery (Thank you neighbour for giving me his halfords trade card and saved me £22) and the bike started right up and volts were climbing.

First time really doing this by myself. I know it's only basic but I now know about all the voltage and amp stuff thanks to you folks.

Will take it on a nice ride tomorrow, it has been sat for 2 weeks !

Dead battery ?

2018 GSXS 1000

Was only on it a few days ago and the bike started on a dime. No issues since I got it.

Unfortunately I’m off on holiday tomorrow so no time to try anything and my bike knowledge is no good (slowly trying to learn)

Just wanted some advice on things I could potentially check out?

Bumps feel worse on a Naked compared to a super?

Hi all,

Had my GSX-S1000 for a few weeks now and it's a cracking bike. Mainly out on it with my partner as pillion so still taking it slow and getting used to the power.

One thing I noticed is how I feel every bump so much more compared to when I had my R1. Is this normal for a naked bike? Obviously I understand I'm more upright and wider bars compared to an R1.

Every now and again I'll hit a bump that makes my hand twitch and accidently pull the throttle (only a tiny bit but enough to make me shocked)

Any tips welcome. Trying to be a more sensible rider on this bike. I was a bit of an idiot sometimes on my R1. I can't avoid every bump considering the UK roads are a state!

Coffee Spot places? (ideally with parking)

Hi all,

Never really go and grab coffee from somewhere nice. Going to take my Nan + Mum out tomorrow to grab some coffee and a small bite to eat.

Any nice places? ideally with parking as I'll be driving can be outside of the island

My new 2018 GSX-S 1000

3 hours ride back yesterday on this and it was a killer. The wind and constant vibrations at 70mph and achey ass. I hated the bike at the end but after going on it this morning I absolutely love it.

I forgot how fast a 1000cc really is. I’m always in second gear at the moment just because the bike wants to go. It is an amazing bike. I’m in love with it!

And the girlfriend loves it. So much easier to have a pillion on this compared to my old R1!

I feel like a kid the night before Christmas. Bike is ready to collect!

I was told it's about 14 days average. It's only been 3 days since I purchased and the bike is ready :)

Going up Friday to ride it back and I haven't felt this level of excitement since I was a kid and it was Xmas eve.

Just the rest of today's boring work day and tomorrow to go. How hard can it be...

Should I get these locks?

Hi all,

Posted that I reserved a 2018 GSX-S1000 a few days ago and we took the long 6 hour round road trip today to go and pay and just see the bike. Needless to say I fell in love.

Now I'm onto getting some security before we go back up and I ride it back. Unfortunately I live in a rough area, but fortunately the bike will be parked behind a locked gate and out of a direct eye sight. I should also be able to lock it to a bike stand.

So please give me suggestions / improvements:

Regular bike cover

Lite lock X1 plus or do I go for the Lite Lock X3? It's a little more but I don't think I'll be able to loop this around a wheel and to a bike stand?

Or the hiplock? D1000?

I can't find a good chain? Can you please help me find some. This will to stay at home so I won't be bringing it with me.

I know this has been posted before lots and lots. I have gone through old reddit posts and that's where I've come across the Hiplock & Lite lock.

But just struggling with a chain lock and I'll probably get a cheapish disc lock with an alarm!

Just reserved this 2018 GSX-S 1000

I've been going crazy these last few days. I never realised how hard bike hunting can be! So many bikes I've wanted but distance has just been a pain. But I thought why not with this one

I've pulled the trigger and reserved this beautiful bike. Has only been up for 4 days.

It's bloody 3 hours away! Has anyone used BigMoto Dudley before? if so how's it been? I'm a bit nervous to pay a huge amount so I'm thinking of driving up on Sunday to pay in person and to actually check the bike out.

I'll be using a credit card aswell to pay half simply because I want a bit of extra cash.

Hi all,

Used to have a 2002 R1. Sold it about 2 years back as I needed the money.

I'm 6'4 (194cm) so pretty tall, especially for a superbike but I loved it.

I've been looking at bikes and will be taking my partner on the back a fair bit so didn't want another superbike.

Was hoping to see a GSXS 1000 but that has fallen through and I can't see any that aren't a 3 hour journey away from me.

there's a lovely 2016 CB1000R for sale 5 minutes away from me that has been up for almost a year but has been reduced in price by almost £1k.

I just want to know how it was like for someone to go from a superbike > a naked upright bike?

I will obviously sit on the bike / test ride if possible but just wanted to hear some feedback now on what do you prefer / the power difference etc etc.

I had an R1 which I sold about 2 years ago and it was fine for me.

I'm 6'4 and I've seen an absolutely gorgeous Honda CB1000R for sale.

First of all, how is the CB1000R? This one I'm looking at is a 2010 model with 15k miles.

And how's it for tall people?

It's 2 hours 30 away and I don't want to put down a deposit so I'm going to chance it and drive up there tomorrow morning. Hoping no one puts a deposit down in the next 12 hours (bike has been listed for about a week now)

Thanks folks
