ISO a book buddy who…

That’s looking to learn about other cultures/how to be kind hearted/stories with a lot of character development/books that don’t have the white male gaze/books with strong female main characters/fiction..

I listen to my books via Libby app from the library .. I’m very interested in books from the Middle East right now. The first book I listened to was Fatima Farheen Mirza’s A Place For Us which was about an Indian American Muslim family in America and their family dynamic and a tenderhearted love story tucked in. The second book I read was Together Tea about an Iranian American family and their family dynamic with a very sweet love story thrown in. And the third book I read was The Lion Women of Tehran which is also about Iranian women and ends in America. The last two books are by Marjan Kamali. I’m currently listening to A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum.

I’d prefer a man to be honest.. as I’m a family man and don’t want the opportunity to get tangled up in feelings with some woman out there on the interwebs .. Im also looking for a white guy like me, not because I’m raciest but because as a white guy who is trying to not be a part of the patriarchy and to expand my viewpoints and learn about other cultures I feel that we can deconstruct our white patriarchy perspective together.

About Me: I’m a 36 year old guy who’s a quarter Spanish, who grew up in a big city, loves other cultures, is with a Salvadoran and Guatamalen woman. I have two children, ages, 8 and 2. I live in Vegas .. I am Christian but very progressive and I don’t believe in hell and I have much different views than are standard. I’m chunky, I love to bicycle. I love photography. I love people. I’m broke.

Do You Guys Feel Like Reading Is A Lonely Hobby? How Do You Feel About That If You Agree?

My heading says it all. I listened to A Place For Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza and then Together Tea by Marjan Kamali and then The Lion Women of Tehran and I’m having such a good time. But I also feel really lonely .. I feel like it’s just me and the story or just me and the author .. it’s funny though because there is such a thing as a book club where a group of people are all listening to or reading the same book and that sounds like it may address that issue. But I’ve never been a part of one lol. I think I was also sad because I wrote a question about what to listen to next after A Place For Us on a book Reddit and got no response.. It was really disappointing. What do you guys think?

Ice Cold Limeade, Exploration Peak

Hi everyone my son and I are selling ice cold limeade at exploration peak until we sell out or the ice melts completely.

Please come on by if you want a cup to support us. He really wants to sell this so he can help celebrate his mom for Mother’s Day! If you can stop by please do, we’re at the splash pad, but the park is mostly deserted. We totally didn’t expect this!

To the mods, please let this post go. I looked at the rules and it didn’t seem to break any. We’re just trying to sell our limeade. Be kind!
