What milestones did you celebrate as you pursued stand up comedy?

I’ve been at it for close to 6 months now. There’s been lots of firsts already. I’m just curious what the biggest milestones to actually give attention to are, here’s the personal ones that were memorable for me:
-First time doing time on a show
-First time doing new material at a mic without needing my notes as a crutch
-First time I put together a cohesive 5 minutes

What milestones do you celebrate?

State Troopers flying down Hwy 29

Just saw four state troopers absolutely flying, probably 110mph+, down Hwy 29 in car city. Anyone know what this is about?

Opinions on taking opportunities outside of comedy to gain more of a social following

I’ve been doing comedy for just over 4 months. I’ve got a resident host spot at one of my local clubs and have been quickly developing my style and rhythm. I’ve been working on gaining a little bit of a social media following to help promote shows and post my stand up clips there every so often. I was approached by the largest bar in town last night with the opportunity to host their trivia night. My immediate idea was that it would make me a more recognizable face in town, and in turn give me the opportunity to develop a following somewhere outside of the club. Is this a reach or is there real potential in opportunities like these?

Galil Ace Gen 1 13” in 7.62x39 is in stock at PSA

Saw it and figured there’s a few people here that would want to know. Unfortunately the Gen 1s are not part of the IWI suppressor rebate right now.

The Pickles and Wings Festival was straight doodoo

Just gonna bullet point all my complaints, can’t be the only one feeling this way…
- Hardly any pickle and wing vendors, long ass lines for the few they had
- Shitty vendors selling 3d printed junk, and corporate booths taking up space that could’ve been more pickle or wing things (there were a couple of legitimately cool vendors)
- AI generated images were used to promote the festival
- Two (2) porta potties total
- Roads around Seville square weren’t closed off, traffic was ass
- Whole thing feels like it was just built to rake in some money from vendors buying booth space with very little put into fitting the actual theme of the festival

I’ve been looking forward to 2027 Celebration for years…

When I was 18 I splurged a little bit of savings and went to SWCO for the 40th anniversary of the franchise that really shaped my life up until that point. Two years later I met the love of my life, and one of the major things we bonded over was the franchise. Episode 9 was our first Star Wars movie in theaters together. She’s heard all of my stories about Celebration ‘17 and since early in our relationship we made plans to attend Celebration ‘27, no matter where it was. In that time I proposed to her in front of the Falcon at Galaxy’s Edge, we’ve gone to countless other conventions and met so many fantastic people, we honeymooned on the Halcyon Galactic Star Cruiser before it was retired, and revisited Batuu many times. Next year is a milestone for both of us, and I feel so lucky to have been able to actually secure tickets for this one. Here’s to what will surely be another great Celebration.

Edit: the most stressful part of even securing the tickets was that we were in the ER for 9 hours because she had a major health scare, it really was the win we needed that day
