Caching with no cell coverage and no stand alone GPS unit

I'll be taking a solo hiking/MTB trip later this month to a rural region with well documented areas of no cell phone coverage. I'm confident in my skills navigating trails and paths with a compass and paper maps but I'm not sure how to go about caching while out there. Is it a hopeless cause without purchasing a GPS unit? How have others gone about it successfully? From what others have told me, I won't ever be more than 15-20 miles from areas with reception so I'll be able to get a signal when needed, just not WHERE needed.

[TOMT] Recent album cover showing man falling out of tree

Several months ago (but no more than a year) I was browsing new album releases and saw a cover I loved and want to identify. It was a photograph, not drawing, of a man falling out of a tree as he reaches to grab something. I believe it is a cherry he is reaching for but not 100% sure. The perspective of the camera is from the ground looking up at the guy, so you see the cherry up close, his arm extended, and his head with his hair blowing back as he fell.

I have no idea who the artist is or what genre. Based on the website I was browsing, I imagine it was probably a pop or dance music album.

Anyone have any ideas?

5' x 8' Australian flag before Monday

A supplier sent the wrong flag needed for an event starting Monday (July 20). Does anyone have suggestions on where I can source a five foot by eight foot high quality Australian national flag to have in hand by Monday morning? Chicago area is fine if needed. Thanks!

Noob question about redundant track on a TV series DVD

Newbie here. I am running smoothly with MakeMKV so far and haven't had issues. This isn't really a software issue but I hope someone can explain what I'm seeing.

I am ripping my DVDs for Series 1 of Unforgotten. There are six episodes (three each on two DVDs). When I pull up either DVD in MakeMKV, I see the three episodes listed along with smaller titles with menus and whatnot. But there is another title in the directory that contains all chapters/scenes from scene two on of the first episode on the disc. I haven't encountered this before and I'm not sure of its purpose. There is no similar title for the other episodes on the discs, only for the first one (in this case, episodes 1 on the first disc and episode 4 on the second). So basically this title duplicates the first episode on the disc from the second chapter on.

Has anyone else encountered such a setup and can explain what I'm looking at? Thank you for any help!

Just want to share my achievement with people who understand

First image = Friday, second image = Saturday

Four years into my caching journey, I finally completed my fizzy grid! I have to admit I got more excited than I probably should have seeing that little green ribbon show up next to the grid in my stats. I hope everyone else had a great weekend, too!

Help me make a playlist of JW fun/happy songs

I am making a playlist of Jesse's fun songs for someone who could use some cheering up. Can anyone think of ones I missed? Here's what I have so far: Beavers, Birds, Bugs, Cows, Halloween, Pizza, Springtime, Squirrels, Summer, Toads, Trees, Turtles, and Vegetable Secrets. Thanks!

Seriously, what the hell is this bird's issue?

I get that animals are gonna be animals but this Sports Factory bird takes it to a whole new level. There is seething hate for humans pouring out of it with every dive at the head of anyone that tries to walk by. It is relentless. You know things are bad when SF feels the need to make signs warning about it. Is it upset about the Davis Park redo? Are the pelicans taunting it from their rock oasis in the river? I walk through this parking lot every weekday and now find myself avoiding it for fear of getting an eye plucked out.

Unsalted pistachios -- are they still around?

I have about a dozen Aldi stores in my regular driving area (Chicago burbs USA) and none of them have had the unsalted pistachios in the last couple months. The boxes they used to come in would be half unsalted and half sea salt. Now every box comes with all sea salt ones. Anyone know if the unsalted are gone forever, or is it just a shortage/inflation/various catastrophes temporary thing?

I like solving mystery puzzles even if they are not in my caching radius, if only to sharpen my skills. As I solve more I see names from a set of 8-10 users almost always occupying the first few solve spots in the ranks. I understand there are people who love the race to solve first but I am left curious about who exactly is behind the screen names. Are these accounts all individuals? Are they families solving jointly? Are they a coalition of a dozen friends sharing one account? And how do they seem to solve puzzles 24/7, regardless of the time of day a cache gets published? Is the culture of competition amongst them one of no mercy and full bloodshed, or is it friendly? Do they put hits out on outsiders who periodically beat them to the punch? DO THEY EVER SLEEP?
