Skittles Gummies...thoughts?

I'm on a road trip this weekend with my kiddos and we stopped for some snacks (I will usually get them some good old-fashioned garbage snacks when we have to drive a long time). I bought some of these Skittles Gummies because they like gummy things, and they like Skittles but I rarely let them have them just because Skittles tend to stick more in teeth.

Well, I like Skittles, I enjoy almost all things gummy...but boy, these did not work for me. They had a strange...medicinal taste I can't quite identify, plus they are SO sweet (they taste sweeter to me than regular Skittles). I did not enjoy them. Did anyone else find their taste off-putting? Am I imagining it, or maybe did I get a bad batch?

My son is all about cooking eggs and using knife skills and it's an inspiration to watch.

My son is 10, and in the past he only liked his eggs over hard, or scrambled or in an omelette. Recently he said "mom, I think I want to try the runny yolk. And I'd like to make it myself." So I taught him how to crack the egg with one hand, how regulate the temperature, how to flip it, and then I let him try and he nailed it. So now he knows that as long as one of his parents is home he's free to make an egg any time he wants (and his new thing is making fried egg sandwiches which brings me joy because that's one of my favorite things too)

I had already showed him how to chop onions and brunoise things like sweet potatoes and turnips, and he also got his knife skills badge at scouts, so he's decent with a chef's knife--last week my kids attended a cooking camp for a week, and after the first day the teacher put him in charge of chopping things and he was so proud. The staff told me how impressed they were at how safe and efficient his knifework was. It just gave me a lot of pride and joy.

What are you teaching your kids to cook right now?
