Reality check

We here like to tell people what won’t work. Admittedly the idea is to help people avoid future headache. The truth is a pair of Alto TS112 speakers can work as mains for a field full of people. These particular ones have been gigging for 5+ years.

Sure there are speakers that sound better and last longer, but sometimes the budget is the budget. Get out there a polish those turds. Make some noise. Have a good time. Show them cheap speakers who’s boss.

Hippie bucket list

What would you put on a hippy bucket list in VT? I’m thinking Bread and Puppet for sure. Maybe a good farmer’s market, or music festival? A visit to Ben and Jerry’s is probably in order, but has lost part of its appeal.

Walk around balloon

I’m looking at getting into providing a walk around balloon for different events (blow air into an envelope and let people take off their shoes and walk around inside it). Does anyone here know of a list of guidelines for equipment? I have an envelope, but I don’t want to just cob together the rest of it and hope for the best.

I know basics of tie it off to a vehicle at both ends, inflate with 24” 5hp minimum fan. But what are the tolerances? How large do the vehicles need to be? Ratings on carabiners? I want to be safe and am obviously not trained as a pilot.

Is there a way to disable the charging contacts on SLXD beltpack?

I’ve found that a people get sweaty and these contacts short out the pack won’t sync with the receiver. I’m just taping over the contacts for now, but would love a way to, when I lock down the pack, disable these contacts. I’m trying to avoid the common theatre practice of putting them all in condoms.

Crossfade between group cues

I’m trying to find a way to crossfade on demand from a Group Timeline cue into a Group Start First and Enter cue. Both have multiple simultaneous audio cues and fades running. I feel like I’m overthinking it and there has to be an easier way.

All S1 connect and connect:amps. They are slow to show up in the S1 app and the Spotify app sometimes recognizes them, but won’t play to them. Anyone with a similar issue?
