here's a UNIQUE rant for ya - you guys are fucking stupid

this is the god damn RANT subreddit and i have freaks coming out of the woodwork taking issue with par for the course level criticism. i deadass have one of you telling me i'm wrong for wanting 2 healers in a match. and one of you is mad that i'm ranting in the rant subreddit at all.

this is a mean spirited post because my mild annoyance with matchmaking has transformed into actual anger at the sheer stupidity being hurled at me all while acting like i'm the dumb one for having an issue with it.

so there's a UNIQUE rant for you. cant wait to see what problems you freaks have for me this time. if any of you actually read the post instead of skimming it and projecting what you think i mean onto me.

dino demand

i gotta play several matches as some boring old hero because i'm too slow to get dino. i FINALLY get to play as dino, only for our team to have 1 healer who admits in chat she isn't good. what the fuck? no matter how excited i get for a new character or anything else i always get humbled by the reality that there's no update that will fix the lobotomite playerbase. doesn't really matter what changes the devs makes. this game still fucking sucks

edit: if you guys don't wanna read a rant get off of the damn rant subreddit. stop pretending i'm stupid for being mad at a shitty playerbase

edit 2: you assholes aren't even reading my post you think i'm only talking about not locking dino in.

Lois at the Lucky Aide / 'Malcolm's Job'

Specifically 'Malcolm's Job' where Malcolm first starts work at the Lucky Aide. Lois aka 'Beans' seems to act really out of character to me. her 'just do as your told' attitude toward work seems inconsistent compared to the incident of Dewey shoplifting and her getting fired as well as her campaign against the racially-charged standee. The latter of which, Standee, seems to pit Malcolm and Lois in complete opposite positions. Lois actively encourages Malcolm to defy his boss' orders about the standee because it's the right thing to do. but she didn't even hear out the box flattening thing. is it because of the low stakes of the box flattening zone? compared to racism? i guess that would make sense. but i just don't see 'Beans' from that episode putting up such a fight. I see her quietly resenting it but letting her boss do whatever he wants.

Is she doing a 'do as i say, not as i do' thing? like she's more than willing to fight the man, but doesn't want to teach that to her son (which also seems counter to how she behaved in the episode with the cop and the ticket)

also. 'beans' and the smoking. there's no fucking way they ever refer to her as 'beans' outside of that context. she is NOT all buddy buddy good pals with her coworkers and never has been. and 'Beans' of all nicknames i don't see her tolerating. and the smoking? it's not that it's impossible for her to have secret smokes twice a day and hide it from her family. But it seems incredibly unlikely that she would force her son to work at that job putting him in a prime position to catch her. and she's been smoking for years? two a day? there is no way she's just quitting cold turkey at the end of the episode. did she never even attempt it before? or is she just lying? that moment DOES seem to imply that. but where is she smoking now? her safe place is compromised. is she just gonna get better at hiding it? how has NO ONE smelled it on her?

TL;DR i think Lois in 'Malcolm's Job' is really out of character. It seems like half her character is putting on a performance to teach Malcolm what she wants him to learn and the other half is improbable secret work dynamics, with potentially huge consequences, that's been going on for YEARS, that are never addressed before or since.

what do we think he's gonna look like? / what's his first skin gonna be?

art by SMGold on twitter and patreon

i'm definitely a sucker for that classic 90s cartoon look so i really hope one of those skins will at least be there version of it. a jacket over it or their weird extra panels i guess are fine

in 'evacuation' malcolm s2 e24, when hal's couch details a train and everyone is gathered in the gym, he's out trying to raise money for what he thinks is an orphaned boy (it's dewey). he says

'that train wreck which by the way is a surprisingly common occurrence when looked at in a nation wide context'

in breaking bad, s3 e2, during the school assembly where everyone is talking about the plane collision walter indirectly caused by not saving the air traffic controllers daughter when she was having an overdose walter says

'casualty wise, is just the 50th worst air disaster. actually tied for 50th. in truth, there are 53 crashes throughout hirstory that are just as bad if not worse'

what a silly coincidence that two disasters, unintentionally caused by bryan cranston's character, leads him to use statistics as a way to soften his guilt when no one knows his level of responsibility. AND both scenes happen in a school gymnasium. weird right?

this has always bothered me.

In s2 e4, when the boys are playing the circle game. Reese batters Stevie with constant circle 'wins' resulting in a punch. Stevie then got Reese back twice. However, on the second circle, Stevie pummeled Reese like a thousand times. That's not the rules of the game. and Reese played fair.

in s7 e3, Reese Vs Stevie, Reese goes to lengths to make sure that when he beats up Stevie it's a fair fight. He does this by icing his legs until they're so numb that he can stab himself with a knife and not feel a thing. Then, Stevie comes in in a robot suit, fully functioning mechanical legs and pounds Reese into a pulp. This was not a fair fight.

Why does Stevie get away with such excessive force? if Reese beat up Stevie in normal circumstances, Reese would be seen as a bastard. But when Stevie turns the tables he does not hesitate to take any advantage he can get and batter Reese to an excessive degree Reese never reached with him. And he faces no sorts of consequences at all.

TL;DR why is Stevie such a barbarian?
