This project hasn't killed me. Yet.

Almost half way through the spearhead models. Finally couldn't wait any longer to tackle this bad boy. I'm usually not as happy with how models came out as I am with this one. Had to show it off even while the gloss is drying.

Squishy Prediction / Wishlist Discussion

So looks like we are going to get two new Squishy (Scourge of Aqshy) Warscorlls. One for Treelord Ancient and one for Sword Hunters. What do y'all think we are gonna get? Anyone want to wager before we find out? It looks like the ones that have come out for other factions mostly use Rage dice in some way. For Hunters, I dont see any defensive abilities or buffs, nor do I really see anything that's a straight up damage bonus. I'm guessing maybe some utility or mobility for them. Using rage dice to move or aid charge rolls? Could be cool. As for the Treelord, I have no clue. I feel like his abilities from the new book were already out of left field, I have no idea what to expect for his Squishy variant. If I'm wishful, for him I'd love something a little more offensive oriented just to shake things up. Or bring back the OLD tree song, that let Wyldwoods move. That would be hella fun. Would love to hear others thoughts, ideas and hopes!

Proof of concept for Spearhead...

Had this idea for a while. When I look at the box art for Lumineth it makes me think Ceramic Armor, so I figured Id take on a daunting undertaking for my Hurakan Spearhead. Tried a few things on this model, so he's a lil chunky in the paint but I think I'm gonna go with this scheme for the whole Spearhead!

Experience with doubles and Sylvaneth.

Maybe some people have already noticed this with the new Sylvaneth. I Recently played some doubles games, and it made me realize, we really pop off in doubles, especially support wise. So many of our abilities, specifically all the debuffs affect "all units" or any combat attacks on a unit or such. So things like Everdusk, Creeping Dread, Slay the Tresspassers, Skullroot, Lash and tangle, and even more benefit your whole team regardless of faction.

It made for some really nice synergies and abilities that could buff units in ways they typically couldn't get + or - to hit / wound etc. So I figured I'd share!

Hurakan Lumineth Spearhead tips

Hey realm lords. I'm picking up the Hurakan Vanguard Spearhead this weekend, and I have a question or two. Its interested me for a really long time, the models are tits, and the mechanics look really fun and engaging. Plus a shooting heavy spearhead seems like a blast.

Are there certain order of Operations, tactics and methods you guys use? Starting with leeward edge on a certain side for a certain reason? Tips using the army effectively? Id love to hear it! They army seems like it has a 'flow' to its synergies.

So far Roaring Headwind looks really strong out the gate to keep a unit back a whole round. Temple Guardians also looks like a no brainer. Seems like you just want to repostion, keep out of combat with your shooting units and leverage their power and the armies huge movement and mobility.

Bitterbark on City of Ash

Anyone have experience playing the new Spearhead with the Sylvaneth Bitterbark Copse? Seems like it's going to be a lot more challenging with there being 2 terrain features vs 4. Would love to hear your thoughts if youve taken the tree folk to Emberguard.

Hurakan basing ideas

Hey y'all! I'm (finally) going to be picking up the Hurakan Vanguard Spearhead soon. I've got my idea for painting, but I haven't seen any basing on this army that has really "done it" for me. Does anyone have ideas, pics, or their own stuff with any cool basing that relates? Windy? Cloudy? Just looking for something with a little "something" to it to make it special, as I plan to really go in on the paint job.

EDV AC fix no longer working

Hey y'all! So its summer again. Love my EDVS but damn. The ac turning off. There was a time where you could latch the door with it open, and that would keep it on. That doesn't work anymore. Leaving the key in the cab no longer works either.

It seems like it must have had an update. Once your butt leaves the seat, it seems to shut off the AC after about 30 seconds, regardless of the key fob range or status of side door. Really been hoping to see someone figure out a new fix, but havent. I really don't want to leave a 10 lb weight on my seat when I get out ...

Chicago poke theme must sees

Apologies if it's not quite on topic for the reddit, but I thought the people here would have an insight better than any other group. I'm doing a little Pokemon theme birthday weekend for special someone this summer in Chicago. Going to see the fossil exhibit at the Field.

I was wondering if there are other recommendations for any thing poke related in the city? Best trading card store? Any Pokemon theme cafes or stores? Anything special and poké to Chicago I shouldn't miss when there?

Ideas on backstory for doubles.

Hey y'all! Looking for creative ideas for a backstory. I have a doubles tournament coming up, and some practice games etc. Me and the ol man use Sylvaneth and Soulblight respectively, and that's what we will use for our doubles. Should be fun. Lots of healing and recursion!

Anywho it's got us thinking. From a narrative perspective; What would draw the Soulblight Gravelords and the Sylvaneth to have interests that align, let alone enough to work as a team against others? It sort of has us scratching our heads! Id love to hear some ideas from some creative people.

The Sylvaneth army is Lady of the Vines, dryads, Arch Rev, Warsong Rev, and some winged revenant models. Soulblight is Vykros Court, Belladomma, Ivya, Annika, and some wolves, bats, Vargheists and Barrow knights.

Only thing I was thinking is the connecting thread of nature / beasts / beast vampires but that's loose.

Excited to hear what y'all think!

Hello! I keep having the urge to pick up the Hurakan Vanguard Spearhead. It looks super fun to play and has some unique rules and I like the focus on shooting. Honestly I maybe won't ever expand into a full 2000pt list for LRL, but, it had me wondering. Is there enough shooting in this army to make a shooting focused list? I've always liked the idea of having an army that's ranged focused, but Skaven and Cities aren't my thing. Is that possible in the world of LRL?

I've been toying with doing a 3 person (1000 pts each) narrative game. I've been looking at the old rules for Triumph and Trechary and they seem like most will still work really well. Only part I'm unsure about is objectives and scoring. I don't love the points / gold system from that book. I'm not trying to do a basic objective map. I thought about having one large central terrain feature that was the objective but not sure how fun that would be for a game. Was trying to think of something where army A gets points for getting army B, who gets points for getting army C who gets points for army A. Sort of like a rock paper scissors or circular effect. Anyone have good ideas or experiences with something similar, ?
