The repair, of the “repair” shop will not replace the backsplash
So I had to take out insurance claim on a guy that damaged my one year old countertop. So then found one of the higher rated countertop installers in Boise.
They didn’t tell me about the blow then I found it then it escalated to the owner which the owner said he doesn’t want to risk any more damage so he won’t fix it and said to put a bigger cover over it
First 3 images were what I found when I got home.
Remainder are the repairs that were done yesterday.
What should I do?
He keeps saying it’s within natural stone institutes guides.
7 months of constant “cold/wet” sensation deep in one ear with normal MRI/CT and multiple ENTs stumped. Any ideas?
Body:
35-year-old male.
I’ve been dealing with this for about 7 months and it has completely taken over my life. I’ve seen multiple ENTs, had imaging, hearing tests, medications, and procedures without anyone being able to explain what’s causing it.
Main symptom
The biggest issue is my left ear.
It constantly feels like:
Cold air is blowing deep inside my ear.
Water or moisture is trapped inside even though the ear is dry.
A strange “wet” sensation.
Pressure/fullness.
Sometimes burning deep in the ear.
Occasionally sharp stabbing pain.
The sensation is there most of the day.
Other symptoms
Left TMJ pain.
Jaw clicking/popping.
Neck tightness and pain on the left side.
Head pressure.
Ear pressure
Fatigue.
I occasionally feel shaky or generally unwell.
Things I’ve noticed
The strangest thing is that if I lie on my left side, the symptoms improve significantly within a few minutes.
Once I stand back up, the sensation slowly returns.
Yawning or moving my jaw sometimes changes the pressure temporarily but never fixes it.
Tests
I’ve had:
Brain MRI - normal.
CT scan - normal.
Multiple hearing tests.
Multiple ENT examinations.
Myringotomy (incision in the eardrum) without improvement.
I’ve been told there is no infection and no fluid.
Treatments I’ve tried
Multiple antibiotics.
Prednisone.
Betahistine.
Allergy treatment.
Time.
Nothing has made a meaningful difference.
Diagnoses considered
I’ve been told it could be:
Eustachian tube dysfunction.
Endolymphatic hydrops.
TMJ.
But none of those seem to fully explain everything, and treatments haven’t helped.
Questions
Has anyone seen symptoms like this?
Could this be:
A cranial nerve issue?
Auriculotemporal nerve or glossopharyngeal nerve irritation?
Cervical spine or neck related?
TMJ compressing or irritating a nerve?
Superior canal dehiscence despite normal imaging?
A vascular or positional problem?
Something involving the autonomic nervous system?
The fact that lying on my left side consistently improves it seems like an important clue, but no one has been able to explain why.
I’m not looking for someone to diagnose me over Reddit. I’m hoping someone has seen something similar or can suggest possibilities that I can discuss with my doctors.
Thank you.
Update they knew about the damage and won’t replace slab …
So the team who installed it came to my house and on the ring door bell they said they knew about it and the project manager didn’t say Anythinf and said it was normal
Part of the process
Issue with countertop radio silence 3 days after
They didn’t notch my counterops for under cabinet. Electrician got creative and made it work.
I feel a reputable shop should not have sent this despite having some of the highest reviews but does it look like something was fixed ?
I then noticed this when all the lights were off except the one across the counter.
It almost looks like they filled it in with a hard material but now I haven’t heard back we called numerous times and nothing .
HRC PROTOTYPE at store now
Has an HRC exhaust sounds pretty good!
Finally got back splash and surrounds done.
It’s been almost a year since they got damaged and the new color and stone went in yesterday!
One year ago today… 7/14/14 to 6/22/25. ❤️
I lost you a year ago, and my life will be forever changed. I never knew how much a soul could mean to me, but ghost you were a beacon of light, hope and forgiveness.
You moved with me, at least twelve times, and you were always excited to be there for me. You also taught me what forgiveness looks like, what unconditional love looks like, and for that I will be forever grateful.
What I would give just to have another day with you, another hour or another second.
I still feel so much guilt for how you passed and in my garage and for how much you showed up for me, I couldn’t return the favor. For that I am tremendously sorry that I wasn’t there for your last moment on earth.
I desperately hope, for someone who doesn’t see the existence of life after death, but for you “bugs” I hope you are happy, free of pain, and you feel a sense of warmth, love and peace wherever you are.
It is my hope that I made you feel loved. It is my hope that you felt safe, and furthermore I will always be there for you.
Please know your loss is tremendously difficult for me to comprehend. Please know that I tend not to think about everything as I just can’t stand the thought of you not being here and it’s always how I handled things, by compartmentalization.
I keep you and your brothers urns next to my bed so that I can wish you a good night like I did when you still were here physically. It is my hope that you still feel the love I have for you and Ryker. Please forgive me for not being their tour final moments.
Thank you for giving me the most beautiful dog, friend, and partner a human could ever ask for. I love you, and I’ll be seeing you.
❤️
Did I pick the right color
I have perlato decided but can’t decide now
Situation part 2…
Need some honest opinions because I’m genuinely torn on what direction to take with my kitchen remodel.
Long story short: my house is only about a year old. Originally I had a very small scratch in my quartz, so I hired a guy who supposedly specialized in quartz repair/restoration and travels around the U.S. doing it. Instead of fixing it, he ended up damaging most of my kitchen surrounds plus parts of my bathroom. I spent the last 3–4 months fighting with his insurance before finally settling.
I decided to leave the bathroom damage alone and instead fully redo the kitchen surrounds and backsplash.
The demo happened last Monday, but afterward I realized the backsplash/countertop layout would end up being done in 3 separate pieces. Apparently the slab layout PDF was sent Saturday before demo, but somehow that was the one message I missed even though I’d responded to everything else.
Now I’m at a standstill because I’m worried about how the seams and veining will look long term.
My island is Warm Versailles Ivory by Cosentino, and I’m trying to make sure the rest of the kitchen still looks cohesive and high-end.
Right now my options are:
1.) Spend another $2,500 for an additional slab. Originally I thought this would completely eliminate the seams, but after reading comments from people in the stone industry, it sounds like multiple pieces are actually pretty normal for safety, installation, and handling reasons. So now I’m questioning whether the extra $2,500 is really worth it.
2.) Keep the current layout as-is and save the $2,500, but risk it not looking as intentional or visually cohesive to me long term.
3.) Scrap this material entirely and go with a different color/material that doesn’t depend so heavily on directional veining.
If this were your kitchen and long-term home, what would you do?
Need help deciding crappy situation
So last year, I har a guy attempt to repair my one year old counters. Needless to say he caused about $8000 worth of damage. He then ghosted me for 8 months until I threatened to take him to court. He finally gave me his insurance and they sided with me.
Great all is well.
The new fabricators have been along for the ride since October I’ve sent them numerous countertops I wanted and ideas they even came and looked at my house.
I finally agreed on a counter top after a month of seeing what would work and back splash. I got so many different quotes and then finally I got the project demos this Monday. They damaged parts of the wall and some of my cabinets. They said they’d fix it great.
I got a message two days after demo saying like “hope you got the other message but your oversized back splash won’t work from this one slab, and we’ll need to get two if you want, but if not it will have three seems and look good.”
So I was bummed and just confused as they came to the home, once and then I sent numerous photos of my kitchen so it seems like a miscommunication on both ends of how to res their schematics as the one picture above was the last of 18 that looked like that.
So now my home is demolished they are mad at me for not understanding what they were trying to say via email and I’m mad that they didn’t explain it wel.
Regardless they can refund me and then charge me the demo which is kinda shitty seeing its fucked up now. Or I can stick with them and pay $3000 more for another slab, or go to a cheaper slab for surroundings and back splashes to get all seamless. Don’t know what to do.
Got banned because I got pissed that the rep after 17 different agents kept closing chat the minute they opened it, then called on phone for 3.5 hours over a $3900 MacBook Pro they said I never got… because I was reading the other tracking number that was covered over theirs.
So, I got banned because of their seemingly carelessness over my pending $3000+ refund… which started April 05th and ended yesterday.
I tried to be patient when my new MacBook Pro got damaged and immediately shipped it back, using what they told me too.. take it to Whole Foods? I got the reps name and paperwork that she printed just in case although it seems they didn’t care.
They then claimed they didn’t receive it or that I never had it, despite sharing the box, label, the representative I worked with at Whole Foods, and the day I sent it back.
Their customer service is absolutely terrible. On the first day I mentioned an issue with my order, I said it was the laptop. They would then say their generic greeting and ask me to get help from someone who could actually assist me.
They did this 17 times.
I then called in and felt I was making some progress, until a lady from Australia confronted me and said, “You never got the package with the wrong shipping information, literally on the box.” She was combative and even suggested that I call my local police for help with returning the package. I was furious because $3000+ worth of merchandise was simply thrown out in the world without any regard for its value.
I called back after the three-hour call and waited an additional hour to get someone who had seen everything I had seen. They finally refunded my money. However, as of yesterday, they banned me, removed my Amazon Prime card, and took away all my movies and other services. I can’t even create another account anymore. I’m incredibly angry after 11 years of dealing with them. Of course, I responded to their appeal email five times, but I haven’t received a single response.
Now, I’m left wondering where to shop or who offers better customer service.
