Cur8 Capital

Considering the above. Been recommended by a few close friends.

Any insights from people who’ve used them? How in line are their returns with projections?

Or better or just going ETF via ISA. Because my ETFs have been stagnant tbh

Should I be paying this for a locum agency?

Applying to locum agencies - all of which are asking me to transfer the relevant either PVG or DBS and asking me to pay for it?

Should I be paying for it? Because each locum agency needs one specific to them so I’d be paying for it several times, before even securing a role!

Would appreciate insight from people who’ve been through this before

Also have to pay for a copy of my mandatory training which I’ve done on the e learning platform they sent, but only one agency can see and the others can’t. Have to pay for an electronic pdf!

Wtf is this

Polymarket

I know. I know… But I’m truly asking to understand here.

I know people who’ve made ridiculous sums on there from quite ridiculous predictions. As Muslims, we clearly know that for eg, Israel will never stop, and it’s written for us about their rule and how the end times will come etc.

In that sense, is ‘predicting’ that for eg Israel will mess something up continuously (literally leading to the end times, which both our religions actually believe), is that still forbidden?

I agree not for betting on daily things and stupid scores for matches etc. I’ve heard generally something could be permissible for one with knowledge to hedge against real-world exposure.

But I wanted everyone’s opinion. Not at all justifying gambling. If it’s truly all haram, then so be it. But just wanted to gauge the public opinion on here. Seems ridiculously easy to take their money when we know how the end is written (though admittedly only Allah swt knows the full plan) 🙏

Is it worth me planning FIRE?

26M who works in the NHS. Income 75k last year. Have worked in the NHS for 2 years and leaving this Summer to go into industry. Not planning to return tbh. Ideally looking to leave the UK too long term, but who knows given geopolitics etc.

My concern is I am in the 45% tax rate last year, and projected to have a slightly higher income this current year. I stopped the NHS pension deductions 8 months ago, but haven’t fully withdrawn yet - I read if only a few years service, the defined benefit is likely minimal.

I also have a very pessimistic view of the UKs future given pension ages etc. Feel Will only get worst. Leaves me constantly thinking if it’s worth doing any pensions via a SIPP or other at present if planning to leave etc. But also feel a lot of tax being paid

Max my 20k S&S ISA each year too

Would appreciate some insight/anyone with understanding of NHS pension too

Partner Referral?

Got a call with an MBB Partner via an intro. In an office I’d like to recruit to. I’ve had chats with more junior consultants before, but how to navigate ultimately asking a partner for a referral? Not sure how appropriate would be.

Should I try and do it on a second call, ask for intro to more junior colleagues or just try and mention in a way on the first call?

Any advice appreciated. Don’t want to burn the opportunity

Space X and ISA Loss??

I’m skeptical about SpaceX and the entire market around it, with early sell off, retail buying etc

Current portfolio is in a loss due to volatility. I also have maxed my ISA this year and invested it all in a lump sum. Would you guys in this situation, cut the loss and DCA dependent on what happens with the IPO and market effect?

Concerned I’m going to be in a major long term loss if I do nothing.

Maybe I’m overthinking because I’m a newbie. Keen to hear your guys opinion on what you would do in this situation?

Attempted Break In Appeal

Hello,

Attempted break in to the property today. All on footage, can see the individual above. Also noticed suspicious activity past few days with a car ‘monitoring’ the area too.

It seems the benefits aren’t high enough anymore to sustain the filth in society….

Police report obviously in place and other precautions too.

Appeal to anyone who knows of the above/had similar problems in past/any further suggestions to help a worried hardworking family

God bless GREAT Britain

Brothers, I’m losing my Savings

Have been investing for a week. Everybody keeps saying that time in the market beats timing the market. I know it’s supposed to be long term but all I can see is a mountain of loss. Especially the Islamic fund…

Losing my savings. Brothers what do I do

Joining Multiple Locum Agencies

Looking for locums for a specific length of time. Discussed with multiple agencies. All telling me to sign up to get things started

Is there any disadvantage of signing up with multiple agencies? Is it allowed?

Or is it just the paperwork…?

You guys do Surgical Fellowships?

Hello my Trump-led Americans I come to you in peace from the British Isles…

Long story short. Considering Gen Surg residency in the US. Aware of the difficulty, working with a strong mentor.

I recently was made aware you guys can do fellowships after gen surg into things like Cardiothoracics. Someone mentioned hand surgery after gen surg instead of doing ortho?

  1. What fellowships are possible post Gen surg, 2. how common are they,
  2. and how much do each fellowships really increase your salary

God bless ‘Murica 🥀

Joining Different Staff Banks

Have been trying to join some staff banks in different cities which I would be willing to commute too. However they are asking for a line manager and clinical manager to support my application? Is this normal? Having not worked there, I’m not sure how to manage this… I could get a consultant to support but unsure about the line manager etc.

Would appreciate guidance from those who’ve done

Greetings Americanos,

Long story short, just curious how progression works in residency for you guys? Do you have exams each year/need things signed off by faculty?

Mainly, do you have to get feedback type forms from everyone including nurses?? Just curious if my 1st world country is alone in the way we do things.

Mainly curious about surgical residency progression

Is it possible to purchase gift cards for restaurants abroad to sue the dining credits later - will then use them later this year when I’m actually there!

I’ve heard people mention Toasttab. Don’t understand what it is though and does it work?

Anyone successfully done this?? Particularly for Spain or Italy

If I get the 100k points and £250 travel credit on the platinum card, how can I keep this?

I’ve heard downgrading to the free card would preserve the points… would that preserve the travel credit too though?? And what card would I downgrade to?
