Forsaken Astartes Serfs Lucan Draik and Sorin Kael

Morning gang,

Next up, and a little boring, we’ve got the final two of Nassio’s Armourial Serfs Lucan Draik and Sorin Kael.

First up is Lucan Drake, who is really serving me major ‘Your forgot your helmet!’ vibes. Wanted to have at least one model holding some Astartes kit to try and reinforce that he was an armoury serf. Also I find it fun to have that monster helmet, which is nearly as big as his torso, lugged along!

Second is Sorin Kael, old mate I think has maybe had a few too many whacks to the melon! He was fun to really just someone clearly there as a pack muel. Whats in the can? Is it prometheium, uber-diesel or grog..who knows, but it needs to be carried.

All told I’m pretty happy with the trio of serfs and the Artificer. I think to offset against the deep crimson of what Nassio’s armour will be, I’ll do these guys in dark habits, with maybe some iconography ‘stitched’ into the material.

If you have any better ideas for colours though, lay it on me!

Nassio's head Artificer Cassian de Salazar and Serf First Class Gregor Roth.

Nassio's head Artificer Cassian de Salazar and Serf First Class Gregor Roth.

When Nassio was confirmed Lost in Action and the command echeleon of the Sons of Sanguinious opted for a full scale retreat from Mord Hive, de Salazar and Roth petitioned their Company Captain to be allowed to attempt to recover Nassio as they believed he still lived. They where given leave, but where allowed to take soley what they could carry, and only 'volunteers' of Nassio's armoury retinue would be allowed to assist, lest they be rolled back into the company pool of skilled artisans and labourers.

Un-suprisingly all of Nassio's armourial serfs opted to join de Salazar and Roth down to their foray into Mord Hive. De Salazar and his accompanying serfs took as many specialist tools as possible with them, as well as some promptly re-designated Armourial Servitors which would act not only as beast of burden, but erstwhile bodyguards while they searched to recover Nassio.

So wanted Nassio’s retainers to clearly be some form of chapter serfs, while also having that sort of ‘hard scrabble’ vibe I want all my Mord Hive warbands to have. De Salazar was the first model off the rank and went through a few iterations and pose changes. I wanted him to have both a ‘non-combatant tinkerer’ vibe about him, but also have a level of authority and command about him that would befit an Astartes head artificer. I wanted him quite heavily laden with gear, parts and tools, but still clearly ‘of the chapter’.

Gregor Roth I wanted very much to give serf vibes, habit, head cowl and carrying lots of gear. Fired a battered Astartes (looking) shield and an autopistol lend a good bit of grounding into the current setting with piecemeal bits of equipment and weapons being available to him.

Anyway, just thought I’d chuck them up there to show you guys how its cracking along!

Anyone else working on anything?

If you're interested in Mord Hive, come have a look.

Mord Hive 0.4 Release (More Warbands and Missions)

Good Morning Gang!

Just running up to the 0.4 release for Mord Hive. Its becoming pretty feature rich at this point! I think I’ve settled on the ‘core’ warbands as well. There will be more warbands coming but probably as separate pdfs as we’ll never get this book to 1.0 if I keep going nuts!

So this is probably one of the bigger updates as well, we’ve got missions added, as well as a big glut of warbands:
Eldar, Squats, T’au, Lost and the Damned and Sisters of Battle (Thanks to Jordi RS for that!).

So that takes us to a whopping 12 warbands, 5 Imperial, 5 Xenos and 2 Chaos!

The next big step from here will be transposing the core Mordheim rules across and finalising the contents page!

In light of flooding this group with era-inappropriate content as well as a few requests from people I’ve created a Mord Hive Facebook Page and Reddit, this is where I’ll be releasing further spiels and news, so fear not, no more releases posts if you don't want them :P.

Mord Hive on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1EbEMuzzpb/

Mord Hive on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/MordHive/

Again community feedback is king, there has been a heap of submissions so far, so please keep them coming weather its formatting problems, spelling mistakes or even balance and rules concerns, hit me up!

Feedback:  https://forms.gle/voZxiSghBGDbFAB79

Finally, the 0.4 release!

Forsaken Astartes Nassio (WIP)

>Battle-Brother Sevrael Nassio was counted amongst those bothers of the Sons of Sanguinius lost on Mord Hive. Assigned to the desperate rearguard defence of the Therium-Beta Diamantine Refinery, he and his squad disappeared when the Space Hulk slammed into Mord Hive, sundering it irrevocably. Declared killed in action, his name was entered into the Chapter's rolls of the fallen.

>Refusing to accept their lord's fate, Nassio's Head Artificer, de Salazar, and his indentured serfs petitioned the Captain of the 3rd Company for permission to recover his body. Their request was granted with a single condition: should they fail to return with his body before the final evacuation, they would be abandoned alongside the dead they sought.

>As the last Imperial vessels departed Reyklund, leaving the doomed hive world behind, de Salazar and his followers continued their search through the shattered ruins. Weeks passed before, by what many would later call the Emperor's providence, they discovered Nassio. The Battle-Brother lay alive, though trapped in the wreckage of a partially collapsed diamantine storage chute where the immense strength of his power armour had preserved him from certain death.

>Nassio, de Salazar and the rest of Nassio's retainers would go on to spend the next few cycles recovering what equipment and more importantly, their gene-seed, from Nassio's fallen brothers. Every progenoid salvaged was another fragment of the Chapter's future wrested from oblivion.

>Now stranded within a Hive both haunted and inundated with eneimes, Nassio and those who follow him are driven by a singular, unbreakable conviction. The gene-seed they have recovered must be returned to the Sons of Sanguinius, no matter the cost. To fail in that sacred duty would condemn the legacy of their fallen brothers to extinction. They will endure any hardship, face any horror, and spill the last drop of their blood before allowing that burden to be lost.

Just playing around a little bit on my Forsaken Astartes for #MordHIve. Wanted to have him looking pretty damn beat up, and also as if (as they would be) rocking very much a nomadic sort of life so needing to carry everything on his back.

His weapons aren't as beat up as his power armour as I imagine with his Armourial Serfs and Artificer can probably keep them in better shape on the move than his power armour. It's predominatly a 3d print, with a lot of parts of the 'totally not a blood angel' dude from Necromunda.

Anything jump out at anyone that may need fixing?

Underdog Fixes/Formula Change (Help a brother out!)

Hey gang, plodding my way through Mord Hive and starting to transpose campaign rules.

One thing that always got me was kind of how useless the underdog rules where for actually accounting for the power differential between warbands.

My group has played a lot of Trench Crusade lately which has essentially a model and ducat (read GC) cap on battles depending on what stage in the campaign you are. While I don't quite want to go that far (as it can limit more successful warbands a lot!) it certainly helps curb the level of one sided-ness that can occur in game.

I was wondering if anyone has made any successful house rules for a better underdog formula.

This is what I've been noodling with as just an option in the book, but would love to know what other people have done to try and remedy the underdog issue.

Mord Hive (Mordheim to 40k Total Conversion WIP)

Good Afternoon All,

Was told to sling this up here by a few people as it may be another good option for some INQ28 flavoured play.

Have just put together a small trial of a Mordhiem to 40k conversion.

This started mainly as a thing for myself and some mates to play some small scale 40k campaign based skirmish without sort of learning a new 'core' system.

Shadow Wars was just going to be too much (as well as a bit off the mark, Terminators and Grey Knight kill teams certainly increase the 'scale' of the game). We forayed into N17, but not only did that not have the 'death by bottle in back alley' vibe that Mordheim has (hell N17 feels like elite kill teams/navy seals going in to wreck each others face!), Necromunda's are very human-centric and just...vast.

N95 was fine, but again different enough that it would be another game system burning out our collective old man brains.

Thus Mord Hive.

I figured that it may be of some interest to people here as obviously we all love Mordheim. I love the ability to create a small, weird warband that may be a bit off kilter and never evolve into a true army due to the work (Looking at you lizardmen) invovled, but allows a bit of fun or to try something new. As above Necromunda doesn't really do that as it is all/90% humans and is a bit more complicated. So hopefully this can give some gaming groups wanting that 'small 40k but mordheim' feels!

This was very much an attempt to keep the Mordheim/OldHammer feels, with the GW turn of the century art and fluff styles (less is more etc).

I've created a few trial factions, based heavily off of existing Mordheim Factions (Imperial Guard, Orks, Pox Cult, Ordo Hereticus Retainers and a single Forsaken Astartes (Just added Cult of the Four Armed Emperor), this in its nascent form is meant to just use the core Mordheim rulebook, skill sheets and missions. It has new (mainly renamed) equipment, with new weapons that will no doubt require a heap of balance massaging!

Feel free to have a squiz and if you see anything that needs fixing, please yell out, this is very early in its life, but I've at the very least had a lot of fun putting it together and it never hurts getting some fresh sets of eyes on it!

HELP: Finding “DEATH’S HEAD” - 3rd Krieg Tank Division - Titan Hunter Detachment

Hey all,

Thought this would be the best place to post it!

Starting a new Krieg Project and trying to hunt down one of the absolutely best Krieg Plogs that ever existed.

It was on Warseer back in the day, it was called " “DEATH’S HEAD” - 3rd Krieg Tank Division - Titan Hunter Detachment " and made by the amazing Bungaroo.

Wayback Machine link is only for the first page:
https://web.archive.org/web/20230523213244/https://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?126013-%93DEATH%92S-HEAD%94-3rd-Krieg-Tank-Division-Titan-Hunter-Detachment

So I was wondering if anyone one on this expansive subreddit knew if Bungaroo existed on any other platforms, like Insta or anything, or if anyone has any idea on how to re-summon such an illustrious old thread!

Thanks in advance!

WIP Crusader Knights

Final round of WIPs of the Crusader Knights before they get a quick prime to make sure everything looks alright and to see if I've missed any fillers. This project has been a heap of fun trying out some different techniques than usual!

Super chuffed with Maximillian-Class Knight 1, wanted him to look pretty forboding, have him standing on the corpse of a recently slain desecrated saint, sort of with a 'next?' pose going on. I've got his mask open to try and give a sense of scale to the size of the maximillian knights. I don't imagine the guy is completely in every part of the suit, but works bits and pieces internally.

Next up was is the Arbalester Maximilian-Class Knight, I feel the St. Methodist Autocannon is just too fun to pass up! I've whipped him up with a stonking large autocannon shoulder mounted, wanted it to fell pretty big and nasty. I've got a big 'lock-inable' tower shield that would hopefully protect the knight from most of the return fire, and finally I've got the spotter on his back calling shots into a little radio set, as the fluff about them relying on men-at-arms to call shots was amazing!

3rd one is just my take on the phenomenal Maximillian Class Knight artwork, with a bit of artistic license.

Following that is my Knight-Lieutenant (Prophet), Knight Chaplain (Castigator) and my Order Inquisitor (Witch Burner General). These guys are all sort of designed after in a similar fashion. They've each got power-armoured exo-skeletal support to their armour, full enclosed helms with rudimentary night-vison optics as well as man-portable radios. I wanted to try and convey the meshing of 'Knightly Vibes' and '(1914) modern military equipment into a single thing, hence they have what amounts to a Machine Gun as an assault rifle and all sorts of extra swords, arming swords, misercordias etc.

Finally is just a Hospitaller-Attache (Field Medic) who I needed to replace the sten grip with some wire for obvious reasons, and the very unbalanced Banner Bearer which was another attempted copy of the art.

Any way hope you guys enjoy and I would loooove some thoughts on which order they should be painted as!

WIP Crusader Knights Chapter Hull (to be used on the display board) C&C Please!

Wip of my Chapter Hull (or maybe a smaller more 'tactical' variant, thing 40k strike cruiser compared to a battle barge). Would love some feedback!

Currently just working on the front for my Crusader Knights display board, going to have it crashing through a heretic trench line, disgorging the Knigths and their Men-At-Arms.

As above though, well open to input, as I haven't been able to find any art or extra descriptions on the Chapter Hulls than the awesome little snippet we get.

Thanks in advance.

Maximilian-Class Knight WIP

Have sat down and had a bit of a play with my tester Maximillian Class Knight.

Thought I better add some old school physical detailing so I don't get too out of practice. Wanted also to try and move outside of my comfort zone for this project, so instead of a green stuff tabbed.and plumes, I thought I'd have a little play with some brass sheet and sail cloth, definitely been a new experience haha.

Would love any issues or feedback, or suggestions on how to tidy it up!

Crusader Knights WIP

Just finished tidying up these bad boys, first pic shows the 5 flavours of models I'll be running. Maximilian-Class Knight (Anchorite), Knight-Leutenant (Prophet), Crusader-Initiate (Stigmatic Nun) Men-at-Arms (Pilgrim) and finally a Laybrother (prisoner).

Now the big question is, who has some ideas on what Knightly Order they should be, do we know much about what Knightly Orders exist in TC..and importantly, how do they look?

Lay it on me gang!

427th Naval Heavy Assault Brigade "The Bleak Harrows" Post Arcfest and Better Pics

Well finally got around to taking some, well not great, but better happy snaps of the 427th Naval Heavy Assault Brigade.

Recently took them out and about to ArcFest, where I played in the Arc Crusade event, 30 odd players from across Australia smashing out some awesome games of Trench Crusade. Day one was 800 Ducats and 6 Glory, Day 2 was 1000 Ducats and 10 Glory. I generally think Trench Crusade (and Mordheim) should be played only in a campaign capacity, I still had an absolute ball, 5 games of awesome dudes, well painted armies and good looking boards! Not only that we had the man himself Toumas, rattling around talking some shit with the players and generally being a good dude over all!

Some how managed to snag the overall win for the event, as well as being selected as Toumas' favourite Fallen faction, all told I came away very chuffed in all regards from the event!

So a huge thanks to Anton and his team for running a smooth, fun, and hobby mojo inducing event! Also huge thanks to Toumas for making the big ole trek down to Australia, hopefully he escaped without succumbing to a drop bear or hoop snake attack.

If you want to have a look at the little dossier I made for my army (and forced upon random passers by) have a look here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/15HpZqi2ga2r-NzI00U_nz8l6fHiOhYGG/view?usp=sharing

Also I 'reskinned' the Heretic Legion Trench Ghosts list for the Naval Heavy Assault Brigade (all legit, just renamed items and models) have a look here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZMN7hUo-n0D5iM8onRmBAvt90eqvTcL9/view?usp=sharing

I'll bang up some extra pics of the individual models with their little bits of fluff and what not so as not to drown everyone all at once haha.

Just whipped together some quick and nasty happy snaps of my finished Naval Heavy Assault Brigade for a Arcfest this weekend.

Opted to pop together a little display board and some pamphlets of fluff/rules for anyone who is interested.

They'll be running them over the weekend using the Trench Ghosts rules as I feel they convey the slow, resilient looking vibe of the art and models.

(Will try and get some better, singular shots at a later date!)
